I sent some pictures for parts procurement. Tony was able to order the parts. As soon as there was a shipping confirmation. He scheduled the service. Tony arrived at the specified time frame. And fixed the problem. Now my spa is back up and running. The whole thing from the time I first noticed the problem and connected with Tony to back on line took one week. Several months ago I had the Spa Doctor for services which included parts indicated by them to repair. This took over several months because some of the appointments they didn't show up or called to say the tech was ill. Each time one of two techs came they would putter around and spend a lot of time on the phone apparently getting repair instructions. After 3 or 4 of these visits each time they would say well MAYBE it's this or that. And each time I would have to pay in advance for an additional part. The last visit the obviously inexperienced tech started splicing wires and then he said MAYBE you need a new pump! I think he damaged the spa connection which resulted in an inability to use the pump! ! I am no expert but this company sent inexperienced technicians which resulted in further damage to the spa, possibly making it totally inoperable! I called their office and received a call back that the owner would call me. To date I have heard nothing!!! I have sent several text messages but no response! I am out $600 plus dollars. In my opinion, the customer service and the reliability of this business is nil! If I do not get a response from this business I will file a small claims action for my expenditures plus damages to the spa! I have been reimbursed for the money I spent on this company's failure to repair my spa. read more

UPDATE: we have NOT heard one word from Spa Doctor on the so-called" expedited parts" to fix the leak, repair the insulation taken out all around the interior of the spa, the warped door panels, the outdated filters, etc." and to fix the system to run and or control it via the the "brain" of the system -this has been ongoing since the end of JANUARY 2021. We have not had a phone call, message, absolutely NOTHING!! The representative that Bill says he was emailing and/or talking to in Canada no longer works there. (we tried contacting Paul N. and that is what we were told. Unfortunately, it appears that the message or non-message we are getting is TOO BAD, SO SAD. The spa sits empty because we can't program it, the filters are obsolete and have been since we purchased it, and it continues to leak, from who knows where and the interior has no insulation because Mr. Susmann removed it. Truly a disappointing situation for a disabled person who just wanted to get a few moments of relief and instead has gotten months of additional pain and frustration. Absolute worst place to by a new spa. After you buy the spa they pretend to care but never return calls or repair/fix any issues with the product. Waiting over a year for our issue to be resolved. Don't buy from Hydropool the manufacture company itself, they are terrible with customer service to helping to fix issue. I've tried contacting them and they're just as bad. Do Not Buy From The Spa Doctor!! I wish I would have read their Yelp reviews before spending over $32k on a Swimspa from them. They are very friendly and helpful before they get your money. After that you can prepare yourself for a complete nightmare. The units are made with cheap parts and even though you have a warranty the first year, you will go through hell trying to get them to respond to you and repair the defective parts. My unit has experienced two broken valves already and I've only had it for a few short months. When those valves break the water drains out and you are then required to fill it back up and reheat it. You'll be looking at a huge spike in your utility bill when those instances occur. Dealing with an expensive lemon of a unit is one thing - dealing with being ignored on top of that just makes this business one of the worst I've ever dealt with. I'll be filing a lawsuit at some point here to recoup some of the money I've lost including additional damages relating to being sold a defective product and any legal fees incurred. read more

Maybe they do good work...I wouldn't know. Because they just took my money without ever coming to do any work at all. For me, Bill showed up to see what was wrong with my spa (had an electrical problem that I've since fixed using someone else), told me that he'd contact me to schedule the actual repair, and then never called me again. If that is not a dishonest way to make a quick $150 (for the "service call"), I don't know what is. It's fine to charge for your time, but no one would ever pay for your time if they knew that the initial service call--at which no useful work was done--was the only time of yours on offer. Owner Bill just lies to your face; sells you a defective productive, charges you a service fee to send someone out to check it out when you call in with problems on a Brad new spa you paid for, and never follows through with fixes. I've noticed that there are mixed reviews for the Spa Doctor, so I wanted to share our experience. We had some issues with our 7 year old hot tub. I called to schedule our inspection and Brenda was professional and helpful. We arranged a day for an inspection. This costs $120 and includes basic repair labor that can be completed during that visit. The technician, Jarryd was also very friendly and professional. He called to let us know that he was on his way (we had a 4 hour time window). Once here, he did as much as he could to fix the leak and we were provided with a detailed estimate of parts and labor to make recommended repairs. He also advised us on unnecessary repairs (replacing our ozone generator) that saved us money. Once the parts were in (took about 2 weeks), we scheduled the repair visit, again with Brenda. Jarryd returned today (again he called before his arrival) and he completed a pump replacement as well as some other repairs, all for the estimated price. The Spa Doctor also has an automated system to email a reminder the day before their visit and also emails their invoices. Based on our experience, we'd definitely recommend you give them a try if you need hot tub repairs. read more

Avoid this company at all costs. They sell defective products and do not stand behind them. I purchased a refurbished spa here in December 2018. I was told that it would be ready in 2-3 weeks. It took almost three months, with a lot of badgering on my part. Getting my phone calls returned was not easy, and getting a straight answer was almost impossible. Fast forward to the delivery. The delivery people were not given the set of start-up chemicals I was supposed to get. They also had the wrong kind of screws to install the cover lifter. I was also not informed that I would have to put on the clips for the cover lifter myself. When I called to complain, Bill agreed to come out and fix it. To his credit, he did. However, it quickly became apparent that the spa leaks. After weeks of trying to get this repaired, I was informed that it cannot be repaired. Bill refuses to return my money for a product that he acknowledges is defective. His "solution" is for me to buy a new one from him. The "deal" he offered is not a "deal," considering what I have been through with his company. This issue remains unresolved, and I have a leaky spa in my back yard that I don't know how to get rid of. read more

I wrote a review regarding the Spa Doctor and for some reason it is not on Yelp. I'm a disabled senior citizen and I am appalled by William W Susmann's continous misleasing information and still to this day I have a broke down spa with the owner ripping all sides of the insulation to try to figure out why it is leaking as well as not being able to fix the knob for the waterfall. He also misinformed my credit card company has yet to reply to the BBB OR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. Giving a discontinued filter then brings a temporary replacement but didn't install it correctly probably because the lift for the spa cover was installed incorrectly and not even William helper Spencer can access the sides without having to take the lift off. He had his so called electrician hook the spa up illegally as a GFCI BOX by the law was to be installed first. Fortunately I canceled my credit card because he is one to use one's credit card without permission. I would not recommend anyone to go t the Spa Doctor or is it Spa Doctor Inc??? And FYI don't trust anyone in the store because they are all in cahoots together unfortunate for them because they will all be..... umm i will update everyone very soon read more

These people charged my credit card $159.00 for a service charge and did nothing. Went to my dads house, looked at his spa, said "he didn't like the way it was set up electrically" and left. The guy said he was not an electrician. My Dad has called the owner Bill to talk to him and the girl at the front desk said that was the service call charge. Bill never called my 85 year old father in over a week. Despicable! I will be reporting this to the better business bureau. read more

Our spa broke and we paid them to come fix our spa. After we paid them they were still unable to fix our spa. Bill promised to haul our spa away and apply the money toward a refurbished spa. After taking our old spa (which had a brand new motor and heating element), Bill was full of empty promises. After months and months of calling Bill, and him promising us we were his first priority, he never had a spa for us to even look at. I called the Spa Doctor when the jets stopped working on my spa. Jarrod came out and diagnosed it as a bad control board. Now this is where things got difficult. Jarrod came out on the second trip and the jets worked, but now the lights would not come on. But the lights had worked earlier. Jarrod believed the manufacturer had sent out a bad control board so he ordered another one. My spa was working in the meantime, just no lights. Jarrod came out a 3rd time with the new control board. Jets worked, no lights. Jarrod stuck with it until the problem was solved. He worked with the manufacturer and determined that they had been giving him the wrong control board. The two boards look exactly alike, somehow they were sending the wrong one. So, Jarrod came out a 4th time and the new controller worked. I want to thank Jarrod for sticking with the problem until it was solved. Other companies may have just said tough luck after the first couple of trips. I would not recommend them to anyone at this point. They took what should have been a wonderful and stress free purchasing experience and made it down right miserable. This wasn't a cheap purchase and I am still not totally satisfied with my experience. I wanted a specific spa product and they were the local distributor. From delivery to set up the crew was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We purchased a used spa and about a year later it needed some repairs. We contacted the spa doctor and they sent out a repair person who was punctual, professional, and very knowledgeable. I had called the Spa Doctor and it took several days for them to send someone out. Just the diagnosis trip cost me $165. Then the young man that they sent out said he thought it might be a circuit board problem and he couldn't fix it. Said he would get an estimate. He never called me back with an estimate. After calling them, Bill gave me a quote of $750 to replace the whole control panel and circuit board because they couldn't be sure if it was one or the other..... I called them several times to set up the repair..... GOOD thing they never called me back because after 3 days of no response, I then called another 'spa fixer' they not only gave me some tips to try before they came out but after those tips didn't solve the issue, he came out the very same day! He fixed the problem - it was a pressure switch which costs less than a third of the $750 including labor. Along with that, he educated me on how to test the ph and other things to keep my spa in good condition. I will never go to anyone else! read more

Bought a floor model spa from Bill. I made sure to ask all the questions I I had before my purchase. Bill was very pleasant and answered what seemed like hundreds of questions that I had since I was a first time buyer. The electrical guy that he recommended was absolutely fantastic! The delivery guys installed the tub quickly. We had a couple jets that had loose fittings from the factory and Bill sent his repairman to tighten the fittings and ended up triple checking every fitting on the tub! Bill really stands behind the product that he sells I would and do recommend buying from him!!! read more

Not impressed. They said it would take a week to fix our filter and it's been over a month. We called after a couple weeks and they said they were very busy and needed longer and would call us when done. So we waited a couple more weeks and then called again. At this point we were told our part had been fixed days ago and they were waiting to hear from us!! Ugh! Why would they be waiting to hear from us?! DONT CALL FOR REPAIRS.......they require you to give them a credit card for $140 before they even come out to do a 10 minute diagnoses on your spa. Once they have the Credit Card they drag their feet on returning for the repair. You have to constantly follow up with the owner Bill to schedule a return visit for the repair and he always claims he is too busy to talk and gets annoyed when you ask for answers. Way to much run around and there are plenty of other repair facilities to choose from to deal with this guy. After lots of run around from Bill the tech Jarrod did get it fixed, Jarrod was great but dealing with Bill was a very frustrating experience. read more

We had the worst experience ever!! Went in spoke with Bill, ordered a spa, waited three months for the spa while calling continuously to get some kind of answer as to when our spa would be in. Got the run around for three months and finally decided to cancel the order and go somewhere else. In the meantime we were receiving bills from the finance company because apparently Bill charged the purchase to our account as soon as we ordered the spa.... Im pretty sure this is illegal! This entire process was a complete nightmare and caused my husband and I so much unnecessary stress it was ridiculous! Once we finally decided enough was enough we went into the showroom and told Bill we wanted to cancel the order and wanted something in writing saying that he was going to refund us the entire amount he charged to our account. He told us that this happens often in the spa industry and that the manufacturing process was out of his hands....clearly this is NOT the case!!!! He said he would cancel the order and give us a full refund but it has been two months now and we are still dealing with the finance company to get a full refund for a product we NEVER received!!! We went to the Hot Tub Store in Rocklin after cancelling this order and ordered a spa through them. We had the spa within six weeks of ordering it and are now ....finally....enjoying our new spa!!! This was a completely different experience from the Spa Doctor and we would highly recommend The Hot Tub Store to anyone looking for a new spa!! read more

It's very rare I write a review. The service department, Jared specifically is the best. Received a call back to set up a time quickly. Jared gave me a heads up he was coming 20 minutes before. Presentable, knowledgeable, all around good guy. He showed me what was wrong, apparently I was endangering my life because the hot tub wasn't wired correctly and all the metal components were electrified due to the wiring issue. We purchased our spa from the Spa Doctor a year ago. I can't say enough about how well we've been treated by this firm. When we initially filled the tub, there was a chemical imbalance we were not able to correct . Bill sent his crew over immediately to correct the situation. We had a recent pump problem. The service dept. was out the next morning and determined that we needed a new pump. We had a new pump installed under the warranty that afternoon. Tonight was the second night I was able to enjoy my brand new Jacuzzi brand J-275 spa I bought from California Backyard on Eureka in Roseville. It is a dream. This seems like a weird start to a review for Spa Doctor, right? Well it started out by trying to buy a La-Z-Boy spa from Bill. He told me all the things I thought I wanted to hear on the initial sale. When it came time to deliver on his promise he was nowhere to be found. The first spa they delivered was the wrong color. Second one was the wrong exterior and they tried to swap in the field which turned into a disaster. Finally after weeks of begging them to give me a ship date on a new unit they called me in to see the 'new unit' and tried to tell me the defective spa he removed from my property 5 weeks prior was a new unit with freight damage. I showed him a photo of the serial number from the same spa and then he acted dumbfounded and just lied to my face and blamed his staff. Amazing. I contacted some of the other one star reviews on here and they have still not gotten resolution. AVOID THIS PLACE. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself the trauma. It's too bad because I think the EC pumps and other features on the LAZBoy are nice, but not worth dealing with Bill for.
