I came here with a couple of friends to lighten the trauma of turning 30. ;) The reception staff was welcoming. We used a Groupon deal and didn't experience any reluctance in providing services, which I've faced in the past with other businesses as a Groupon customer. I received a massage, the second I've ever had in my life, so I can't say if this is normal, but my shoulders actually felt stiffer afterwards. My masseuse was friendly, but something about the room didn't allow me to feel completely relaxed; the setup struck me as more clinical than spa-like. The manipedi experience could have been a little better. I opted for a regular while my two friends got gel. My friends were given their pedicures first while I got my manicure, and then we traded places. So since we weren't near each other and they wanted to interact with me on my birthday, we had to awkwardly half-shout across the space. I wish that had been better coordinated. This left me the option of chatting with my nail tech, who wasn't very willing to engage in conversation. However, the quality of my manipedi was quite good. Overall, I don't think this is a bad spa, and it's nice to support local business. But I'll probably try out other places before returning. read more

At first, I thought this was a welcome change from Hand & Stone, but that was before two people walked in on me in a stage of near-total undress during my massage (which was noisy and in the smallest possible room). They comped me two massages and I tried to make the most of my membership. After disclosing that I was pregnant, I was assured their massage therapists were all prenatal certified. When I told my massage lady that my doctor advised AVOIDING my ankles and calves, she pushed down EXTREMELY hard on the pressure point she stated was "the only spot you really need to avoid." I canceled my membership and was told my billing would be canceled. I was then told by a different person I would be billed a final time. They suggested I get a facial from the same person who hurt my leg. I said I just wanted a refund and they refused. Don't go here- they have really declined over the past year. Hand & Stone in Winter Springs has nice staff and an amazing prenatal massage specialist who is gentle and kind. *Also wanted to add that I had tried using a different therapist here and she massaged to the point of bruising. I hate to send a non-stellar review for a pretty great place but after a few days since my visit the concerns in my picture prompted me to share. The space is beautiful, they really do a nice job to create a serene environment. A friend gifted me the pedicure for my birthday and I'd waited for months to go so I was really looking forward to relaxing. There were 3 of us and they were kind enough to schedule us together and we were seated next to each other after getting a tour and the review of the membership offered. we were never asked what colors we'd want for our toes. We were all given our preferred drinks. My friends' services were started first and I had to ask for my scalding water to be cooled down. The receptionist seemed a little surprised it was so hot and adjusted it. I waited about 10 min before my pedicurist came and I warned her she was in for some work. My feet have always needed extra care from years of dancing and now diabetes. She wasn't too chatty but that was fine as I was talking with my friends. The guy from up front kept coming back to check on us and that was nice. The room was a bit warm and the music was horrible- like dance music instead of something relaxing. But again, I was trying to enjoy it. My friend was getting a really good leg and foot massage towards the end of his treatment so I was excited about that. The girl I had was really fling hard and I winced a bit and pulled back telling her my feet were sensitive. The other girl noticed I was uncomfortable and asked if I was ticklish. I kinda laughed it off and just said maybe not too much filing. When I mentioned color she was surprised no one had given us the wheel to choose and someone hurriedly dropped one off. Once my lady was on the final filing of my nails she looked up at me nervously and said "one is coming off". Yes, I'd banged one of the little toes a while ago and told her I was aware. I asked her to fix one of my big toe nails, and she did, but left the other cut quite crooked. When she rinsed my feet and legs the water again was scalding hot and the other girl had to tell her apparently the chair I was in had really hot water and had to be turned all the way down. With that adjusted she rushed through the lotion and massage to get me painted and finished. My other friend had been done for a while and was in the hot tub so I was just ready to go. Everyone there, other than my pedicurist, were really wonderful and very nice. Maybe she was having an off day. I'd like to go back to another person and maybe have a better outcome. read more

I went to the spa for a relaxing morning of a massage, gel mani and signature pedicure for my birthday. Pros: beautiful facility, very friendly staff, easy street parking, great massage and pedicure. Cons: for the price of the gel mani ($45) I feel that the polish should go all the way up the whole nail bed, it should not look one week grown out. (see photo). -Very sales oriented. They did a hard sales push to join their monthly membership. $35/month is a good deal for a gel mani + pedicure if you like to get your nails done, however would have liked to see a better job with the polish for that kind of commitment. Also, being approached twice during my treatments (during the pedicure and when I was leaving) was too much, awkward and uncomfortable. Also, when you first get there they have you sit down and try the scrubs/butters which you can choose to add to your service for an extra $15. I do think this is a bit steep. I went there to be pampered, not be subjected to sales pitches. All in all I had a great day there. I would recommend it for the massage and facilities, just keep in mind they will throw a hard sales pitch at you. If you can get past that, you will have a great experience! read more

I first came here for a massage and manicure about four years ago, on a gift cert. I work in the same neighborhood so The Spa is very close by. Since then I had been a regular at Spa Privee. After they closed, I decided to give The Spa a try again. I noticed a Groupon for a gel mani, so I purchased it, and then added a spa pedi. I'm a bridesmaid in a family wedding this fall, so I was also looking for a reliable nail salon for that. I booked my appt just before the bridal shower; figured it would be a good trial run. My experience this time was mixed, which is why I'm giving three stars. **Great things: -My appointment was easy to book over the phone, and my check in was quick. - I was immediately offered a complimentary glass of wine when I arrived, which was thoughtful. - My nail tech, Nan, was very sweet, and we had a nice conversation. - The Spa pedicure was one of the most relaxing I've ever had. Nan even massaged my legs with hot stones! That felt wonderful. - The polish for my pedicure has grown out since my appt (end of June) but has lasted and kept its color. Cons: My gel manicure (French tips) didn't even last ten days. Very disappointed, since their advertising said at least two weeks. My previous gel manis from Spa Privee lasted about three so I was hopeful. I booked my appt just before the bridal shower I attended, so I'd know what to expect if I used The Spa for bridesmaid nails. Luckily my nails lasted for that weekend, but (about a week after I came back) the polish started lifting. One of my nails even had a split down the middle! Once that happened, I took the rest of the gel off. Immediately after my visit my mani was perfect. Unfortunately it didn't last. I had a couple of "bungles" before I left the salon, which I likely caused (rummaging for keys, etc). Nan fixed those...but I wasn't expecting the rest to go so quickly. My sister and I booked a spa day package for my Mom's birthday and had high hopes that this place would live up to its "reputation." Since we're from out of state and our Mother lives in Orlando, we booked this appointment over the phone and emphasized that it was a birthday gift. The girl on the phone ensured us everything would be taken care of even noting details like "we have complimentary wine, tea, and coffee, etc" and suggested that she bring a bathing suit to lay out in afterwards. Day of Appointment: When I called to ask how everything went, she said the massage was great, but that the remainder of the experience she felt awkward and uncomfortable. After her massage, she was asked if she had any more treatments (Is your team not trained to write notes in guest files when they're coming in for a birthday gifts?), and then she was sent to different waiting rooms. Her massage therapist said she didn't need a bathing suit and had a confused look as though this wasn't a normal thing to bring. (Why did you tell us to have her bring one when I booked the appointment??) Not only did the staff not acknowledge her birthday, but after her massage, the nail technician didn't even ask her if she wanted anything TO DRINK let alone offer her "complimentary wine." When my Mother had to ask for wine, the nail technician (who told her that she was just hired two days before) brought her a glass and PUT IT ON THE FLOOR. Are you kidding? Is this even sanitary??? It gets better. After a MASSAGE, she's seated for her manicure next to a 5 year old child who was making a ton of noise and throwing things on the floor. You can imagine how relaxing this must feel after a massage. The nail technician didn't even cut her cuticles or paint her full nail, and was "shaking the entire time." What kind of spa are you running? I work with several spa clients in Boston, and I have never heard of anything like this ever happening - especially being voted as "Orlando's Best Massage" on TripAdvisor & Yelp. I have been going to The Spa for several years now. It is located down the street from my job so it's a familiar area for me. The hours are convenient- even open on Sundays and open late during the week. Honestly, I think the biggest con is the parking. I usually try to parallel park near The Spa. If nothing is available, I park in the shopping center across the street (haven't gotten towed yet, so I think I'm safe). I go to the spa regularly for my mani/pedis. Complimentary drinks are available, including wine, champagne, and mimosas. They are very generous with the drinks! :) There is a relaxation area to enjoy your drink while you wait (usually not a long wait, if any). The spa is a little small, but I like it that way. I always make an appointment before I go for my service. They use OPI nail polish and I love OPI. I have had a number of ladies do my nails and they are all great. However, Pilar is my favorite. She is so sweet and does a great job. The foot massages are great and my feet always end up so smooth afterward. After a recent vacation, I went into the spa with some rough feet. The pedi did me wonders. I also bought a dermalogica product for my feet based on Courtney's recommendation. I am part of the half off club, which I think is a great deal. You end up paying $25 each quarter, but all the services are half off and you get a free service during the month of your birthday. So I got a $100 massage for nothing! I do also enjoy the massages here. I have only had a few, but the hot stone massage is my favorite. It is wonderful! You can sometimes hear some a tiny bit of the chatter from the mani/pedi area, but it wasn't distracting. The relaxing music in the massage room definitely helped. This was my first time at The Spa- and I will be back! I was a few minutes late and still greeted by a calm, welcoming receptionist who took my name and offered me a drink. She then gave me a tour of the huge and gorgeous facility. When we returned to the lobby, Emily was ready to take me for a facial. She was friendly and assured me she would take care of me when I let her know I was pregnant. She gave me lots of options- if I'd like a pillow and how I felt about the light and music levels. Sometimes I have trouble relaxing during facials because in the past the hour was filled with the flaws of my skin and which products I should buy. Emily was great about keeping the descriptions of what she was using on my face short and helpful. Instead of over-speaking, she would simply ask if I had any questions. The facial itself was so wonderful and relaxing. I was in heaven and even dozed off a bit. Toward the end of the treatment she massaged my face, neck, shoulders, hands- and even feet!!- with hot towels and the best lotion. Very disappointed in The Spa on my most recent visit. I received a coupon for 50% of services for my birth month. My husband called to book the services and told them it was my birthday. He assumed they would know they sent me a coupon, well apparently they did not. They refused to adjust my balance even when I brought to coupon to the service that day. Apologized that we couldn't get ahold of anyone February and was finally able to cancel and sign the paperwork 3/3/22 - Josh from the front office shared that Amy would email me the cancellation DocuSign forms via email when she returned to the office 3/3/22. Now we're pending charges 4/1/22 $45.00 ; Disregarding the multiple therapists same day call outs and cancellations conversation with Josh as the exception to the 30 day cancellation policy and will not be charged 4/1/22. Couple's massage 6-11-21 I built an entire getaway weekend around a couple's massage here. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The staff was friendly but the massages were not romantic, relaxing, or therapeutic. My massage therapist left me hurting, and my wife's did not seem to have a clue what to do. We paid for an aromatherapy package and only one of the therapist understood what to do. Perhaps we got rookies. The ambience, well there wasn't one. I mean the room felt like a low rent doctor's office. There were no pictures on the wall, no plants, and the music was so quiet that there might as well not been any. The Spa has become my home away from home. It is truly inviting and a great place to get away and spend a day pampering yourself. From the moment you walk in the doors, you are pleasantly greeted and immediately asked if you would like a drink. Depending on your time of day, you can take the time to indulge in a glass of wine to wind down from a hectic day at work or enjoy any of their varieties of coffees or teas. Josh works in the front and has the best personality and is always there to help in accommodating appointments to work around my busy schedule. He is also super knowledgeable on the Dermatologica products and is always willing to go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of throughout your visit. When it comes to Mani/Pedis, Amy is truly one of the best. She does amazing work, and is so easy to talk to. She immediately puts you at ease, and her work is impeccable. She truly takes the time to pamper you, and her attention to detail is surely evident in the quality of her work. For people like me, I can never decide on colors, but she always has the best advice on which colors are best for your skin tones, time of year, or for a specific event. For massages, Shaleithia is great. She makes you comfortable, as I was a little nervous having never had a massage before. She immediately put me at ease, and asked how firm I wanted the pressure to be sure the massage was truly therapeutic and not too painful. It was an amazing service, and definitely something I would love to continue. The Happy Hour parties each quarter are definitely something to talk about. It is a great time to come to The Spa and see the change in the atmosphere as it moves from the normal Zen of a Spa to an upbeat environment with the DJ. It is a great time to get together with your friends and have a couple cocktails while also enjoying a mini-service by the great therapists that work at the Spa. Best part is that as a Half Off Club Member, you can enjoy 2 Happy Hours a year for..... FREE!! Last but not least, I can't forget about the core of the entire operation, the owner, Andy. Almost every time I come to the Spa, I see Andy busy working. He is heavily involved in the day to day operations whether it is scheduling and answering phones, organizing the nail polish bottles, cleaning up service rooms, or ensuring that he is refilling drinks for clients when needed. He is very invested in the operation and surely takes pride in how well the business is run. He has a great personality, and ensures that every customer is taken care of throughout their entire experience. I love this place, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great services and an enjoyable experience. I did the groupon deal for this spa and I did not like my experience at all. They were pushy, my nail technician was more worried about her own nails and they tricked me into having my daughter's toes done. I thought they were doing it because they didn't have anything else going, but I ended up having to pay additional for them to run a brush over her toes for the polish to come off 5 minutes later. My gel manicure lasted 24 hours. THAT'S IT. I get my nails done regularly and know how to take care of gel polish. By the next morning, the polish was completely lifting on the sides. Won't ever be back. Sad, because we live close to this spa but I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Well to say this was under whelming would be an understatement. We are from out of town and here for a trade show, we googled best massage in Orlando and somehow enough people thought this was good. I have still yet to determine how! It was dirty, loud, and not relaxing at all. The "therapist" I had actually did a great job but he had a body odor that I just couldn't overlook and made it hard to relax. I've had a nail membership here for almost a year now. This is what I think of it: The actual nail service is spotty. The poor nail techs have to see someone every hour so every service is rushed. I'm there for 1 hour for a polish change and 1 hour for a manicure/pedicure. Each appointment is starting to feel the same and it's losing it's value. I really enjoy the nail techs here but they really are being overworked. Loss of quality is occurring. When I first saw this place, I fell in love. I booked it for my friends bachelorette party and went all out. I joined their membership for the mani pedi deal. I was so convinced at how great this place was, until I actually got my nails done. The first time I did gel mani pedi, the second day they started to chip. I gave feedback that they had chipped and the owner was so nice and invited me back to get my nails done again, which chipped again.. I decided to give it another try, which failed and chipped the same day! The utensils are not that clean and neither are the towels. I've been to nails salons plenty of times, and The Spa isn't standardly clean. Which leads to my next problem, I got a fungus infection on my nail just after I got my manicure. When I removed the polish I find the infection and called to let them know what has happened. They just said sorry, no intention of even pretending to try to fix the problem or even call back and see what happened. I feel like that's just standard customer service to call and see what happened or how it happened. It's because the utensils are not clean at all! Now I'm stuck treating this nail! I'm really upset about the outcome of this place, because I honestly loved the look of it and was so excited to do my nails and whatever other cool services they offer. read more

RUN AWAY NOW! The most horrible front desk ever. I made an appointment at 6 pm on a Friday for a Saturday appointment at 1:45 pm. I did NOT give my credit card information and I was NOT informed of the cancellation policy over the phone when I made the appointment. I got stuck at work and I called around 12 pm on Saturday to cancel my appointment and I was told on the phone "No Problem". After I hung up I found a charge for $55 for the pedicure service I cancelled. I called them back and was informed that this is their policy for cancellations and that they saved my card from previous visits. I did NOT give authorization to save my credit card info and I was not informed about the charge before it happened. The front office person left me on hold for more than 20 minutes and I had to hang up. This is absolutely terrible and I will never go there again. This is a scam and I will dispute the charge. Please be aware of the theft and the horrible customer service. On top of that I spoke with the director of the spa and she refused to help me or offer me a refund or even a different booking time to compensate for the horrible service I received. She simply said "there's nothing I could do for you"! I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service I received from this place. read more

I was very disappointed in this place. I received a gift card from a friend. I booked a facial and the hot rocks massage. The facility is not ver nice, the services were poor and to top it off I had to fork out $40 for the tip because they would not allow me to use any of the funds on the gift card toward the tip. Upon arriving, the receptionist was immediately attentive and super friendly. Not overbearing or obnoxious. It was pleasant. I filled the out some paperwork with my name address and email. After that, I was shown around the Spa. I noticed it was a little plain and nothing really caught my eye or attention. I had an 11:30 appointment and I was seen around 11:50. This kind of irked me as I was not too crazy about providing my credit information beforehand over the phone to hold my appointment. They require that, which is understandable, so if you cancel or do not show they charge your card. I didn't feel comfortable doing this at first but she told me she could not book my appointment without it. I arrive on time so I'm not charged but I have to wait 20 extra minutes. Not a huge deal at all, as the room you wait in is peaceful. Beverages are also offered when you come in. I just had some water but it was warm and I'm picky with drinking out of metal cups. (Like a texture thing) The service: The service was good. My nail tech was very friendly and I noticed she was EXTREMELY detail oriented. I really enjoyed that about her. She was newer so I believe she may have been a little out of place, but once she gets a flow going I feel she will rock that place. The only thing I had a hard complaint about was the nail portion. They don't soak your cuticles/nails in a bowl of soapy water! How is this not a thing?? I'm coming off of 7 month acrylics and my natural nails were needing a really good soak and cuticle cut and I was excited to have a fresh gel manicure done. This particular salon just goes straight to the filing and polishing. I looked around and noticed no one else had a small bowl of soapy water either. Also, they do not have tools to take off remaining acrylic on your nails. My tech was awesome and she buffed mine out but if you have quite a bit left they will not be able to do it. Final line: overall I'm happy with the results for being what they are and how much I paid. I will not be returning. If I get a gel mani, I have to have my cuticles soaked and trimmed. It's a crucial step in a manicure and that was a dealbreaker for me. I was offered the membership briefing but politely declined.
