I honestly can't overstate how awesome The Specialists are. I went in to Best Buy in Tucson and had a subwoofer installed in my 2023 Mazda CX-50. Within 2 days and several error messages regarding my push-to-start button, the car would no longer start. Not due to a dead battery, but something with the electronics in general. Once I disconnected the subwoofer, the engine started right up. I then did what I should have done in the first place and took it to The Specialists. They were happy to take a look to see what the problem might be before giving me a quote on how much it would be to do the job right. Within 10 seconds of looking at the installation Best Buy had done, they knew they could help me out. They said they would have to UNDO everything that Best Buy had done, gave me a super affordable quote, and scheduled me for just 3 days later. When I went to pick up my Mazda, they were kind enough to give me a list of everything they had to do to fix Best Buy's mess, and took several photos for me to take to Best Buy to try to get a refund for their botched installation. The sub sounds great, the installation and wiring is invisible, and, best of all, my car actually starts and I'm getting no more error messages. This is the kind of friendly customer service that I thought had gone extinct years ago, and they've most definitely won my patronage for any future updates I need to do (i.e. window tint, more stereo work, etc) I will never go to Best Buy to install anything in my car again, and The Specialists got themselves a new lifetime fan boy. read more

Fantastic value and got better sound than what I thought I would. Best Buy installed a system a few days before I went to The Specialists and it sounded worse than my stock stereo. The fellas at The Specialists replaced and fixed everything for a great price and I was blown away with the quality of sound I ended up with. Just had the The Specialist upgrade the speakers in my 2023 Wrangler. The guys did an excellent job. The system sounds way better than the factory equipment and the install is very clean. They also added a subwoofer and amp for me. Very pleased with the work and service. I plan together more work done there. I recommend them. read more

I had no intention of asking if it could be a warranty fix because I knew it wasn't & was more than happy to pay him for his time in repairing my car. The owner remembered me & my car. I needed a new car radio. The Specialists showed me a Sirius radio for $160. I agreed but installation jacked the price up to $350. I thought that was high but I paid it and made an appointment. After they installed the radio, they said I had to pay another $75 plus $80 labor to use the Sirius radio feature. (Originally they had told me I was buying Sirius radio) The owner cancelled the extra $80 labor but charged me $75 for the extra parts. I think they charge "the Pink Tax" i.e. higher prices for women and sneaky add-ons they would never try to pull with men. read more

I've used the Specialists for close to a decade for car stereo installations, car alarms, auto dimming rear view mirror installation as well as door wiring repair for auto locks and power windows. Always personable service from Sandy and crew. Don't forget folks that this shop has been around for over a decade and has a sister shop in Tucson as well. Do not go to this business for anything!!!! Sandy ( manager) is a con artist from way back!!! He is not helping YOU!!...Only himself!! His customer service is terrible! Installation that he PERSONNALLY did on my truck was a complete and utter failure!! My 8 yr old granddaughter would have done a more professional job!!4 Rockford Fosgate speakers and a Kenwood deck...To cut corners, to his advantage, of course, he just hooked up all brand new equipment to 1994 wiring in my truck....He thought I wasn't smart enough to check that right off, when I got home with the WORST installation I have EVER SEEN!! ...and the list goes on and on if him trying to rip me off every which way he thought he could. Do not trust him or anything he says to you, Sandy's a con man, so if you go there .....do it at your own risk!!! Be prepared to be ripped off....DONE. read more

Service is lacking and the Install they did on a friends vehicle was completely horrid. Looked like a family of squirrels moved in and ripped everything apart. They used scotch locks to tie in wires and just shoved it back in behind the fuse panel. Highly would not recommend! read more

The staff at the Specialist made a point of wearing a mask. My sister died in January 2020 and I was given her her 2008 Lexus RX 350. I decided to add a new radio with a disc player, a new security system, a rear view camera, and a remote start. All of which were installed in a reasonable amount of time. I've been to see Sandy & his crew numerous times over the years for car alarms, stereos, speakers, amp/stereo bench testing & XM receiver upgrades. I recently brought in my friend's car to replace an inop IPod auxiliary line as a Christmas gift. On the way over to the Specialists I noticed the car pulling hard to the left. Made it to the shop & after investigation determined a new cable & control module had to be ordered. Sandy told me to bring the car back a couple days later in the morning. I made an appointment at the car repair place across the street very early the same day, but the alignment took much longer than expected due to some serious mechanical issues. I apologized to Sandy for the delay, but he was very flexible, emphasizing our safety over the install, which I very much appreciated. I've always gotten great work done here. Owner was very rude, at least I think it was the owner. I called the shop to ask questions and got one word answers. Really disappointed because I heard this place use to be good. It seems that they have newer people working there who aren't as experienced. If you're looking for real professionals who will do a great job, I would look elsewhere. read more
