That's for me- not a tea drinker but this smelled amazing!

8/1/2025- Heading over the hill tomorrow for a family member's 90th birthday celebration-. Last time I purchased teas-she was so pleased with all the flavors-. So many to choose..besides hot chocolate and spices- Time constraints- I picked up teas and a hot chocolate for my youngest- snuck in a tea for myself- lol.. Always fun to get unique gifts for loved ones..

I haven't set foot in here for years, but I'm glad I did over the weekend. I was greeted upon arrival and asked if they had any blends that might help me with sleep. I forgot how awesome this shop is. I credit my friend Joe for bringing me here years ago for blooming teas. It was our thing for awhile, but unfortunately they no longer carry these. Service was great and if I had a little more time to spare I would have ordered a cup of tea from their tea bar inside; I love that this is an option here. I sampled a sauce that I was hoping had a little more kick. I'm happy to report that the blend I was recommended is helping me relax and unwind at the end of my day. I was pleasantly overwhelmed with the sauces and rubs they offer and I don't know how I forgot about the spices. With BBQ weather around the corner, I can't wait to come back so I can try a few rubs for my ribs and tri tip. I look forward to my next visit and allowing me a little more time that I'm able to slow down and grab some tea here. Awesome customer service paired welcoming vibes are two things you will get a local shop. If you're looking for something special that a recipe calls for, I recommend you checking here first. They offer high quality ingredients and loose leaf tea galore!

I received a gift card to this lovely shop...put it away and forgot to use it! Two years later, while organizing my sock drawer (the junk drawer of the bedroom) I came upon the card. I was a little concerned it might have expired or wouldn't be honored but no problem. I've been several times now, eventually used up the gift card, but I happy to spend my own money there! Cooking is kinda my hobby these days. Stir fry is my fall back. Some nights I put dinner on the table with a "Chopped" presentation...dinner from someone who didn't want to drive anywhere and used what was on hand. We record several cooking shows to watch on our own schedule...so having the correct spice (or kitchen implement) is important to me! I'm fermenting my own kim chee, using the blend from TS&TS. I've got 4 or 5 different peppercorns, planning on trying the schezwan peppercorns tonight. I got a Central Asia cookbook for my birthday and of course needed a spice (sumac) and of course TS&TS had what I was looking for. Best purchase the olive oil infused with Myers Lemon..that with a touch of honey and a good vinegar...perfect on field greens salad. The store is charming, well organized and it's neat and clean. Staff (usually the owners) are helpful but not intrusive. The location, near Trader Joe's #1 is great, tho learning the open/closed schedule took me a time or two. I do great respect stores and restaurants that take a day or two off!

Wow! What selection!

I loved this shop. They had whole white peppercorns that I have been looking for all around town. The store was BEUTIFUL with spices and teas but also some really fun kitchen items like teapots, peppermills, etc. I was inquiring about decaf tea and I found the sales person to be super nice and informative. I did not have enough time this day, but am excited to go back and spend more time!

Check this place out, and add a little spice to your life! ;) Went here the first time for tea and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of teas and spices to choose from....and I was even more surprised by the great prices! I've tried a couple teas (Egyptian chamomile is my favorite) and they have been consistently top quality. They have all of the specialty ingredients you need for those exotic recipes and they even have pre-mixed herbs, spices and rubs! Located in the Trader Joe's parking lot, so it's an easy stop to make. Super clean store, knowledgeable staff, variety, quality and value = what are you waiting for?? :D

Just a quick Covid-19 update! I was able to order online very easily ! Curbside service is superb! Just call them when you arrive and they place your order on a cart outside when they know you are there! They even write a little note!

But we were randomly in the area again early one evening, and it was a perfect time to try out their restaurant. Have been searching for a go-to Italian restaurant (Reno has so many Italian options, but it's been surprisingly hard to find well done pasta), and this is it. Their homemade pasta, perfectly cooked (not mushy or too chewy) with juicy shrimp (tagliatelle agli scampi) was exactly right. Portion size was generous, and it came with complimentary bread (oil and balsamic). Unfortunately, not enough room for dessert, but will definitely be back either here or at their new downtown location! TIP: Definitely worth calling ahead. The table seating is somewhat limited, but well spaced, clean, and comfortable. Parking outside at the onsite lot for this small shopping center can also get crowded. Also, you can find them on Sundays at the Riverside farmer's market and pick up some convenient and delicious frozen pasta!

Very satisfied not just with the food but with the thoughtfulness of the preparation and the friendly attentive service. I got the special, which was salmon in parchment paper, which came with a side of pasta, and my wife got the tagliatelle with shrimp. Both phenomenal. I'd say their pasta is the best aspect of any dish they serve, but the proteins are also thoughtfully prepared. Maybe a bit on the pricey side, but the quality is there.

I was ECSTATIC to see she sells Nevada Brining Company pickles - handcrafted in the Silver State - Wahoo!! I just watched a story on channel 2 news about this start-up pickling genius and it was on my list to check out. Fell into my lap visiting this boutique. I bought the Boozy Pickle with Whiskey and Fresno Peppers and the fast selling Ruby Red Onions Sweet & Sour. Prices are reasonable and lower than what other outlets charge for this popular pickling company. I can't wait to try the cauliflower when she gets it from the manufacturer. I appreciate the attention to detail wrapping each jar in purple gift wrap paper and placing into a crafty gift bag. I'm coming here for a last minute gift ideas! Really convenient they take plastic considering how small this establishment is. What's cash? Next time, I'm going for the red spicy salt for Bloody Marys!

I think I need to update my review from 14 years ago!!!!…read more I stand by my original post: How wonderful to have a real grocery store that specializes in local and organic products. Much of the produce is locally grown, or locally adjacent (AKA California) OK, Bananas do not grow in the Great Basin. The origin of the produce is identified. I love picking up a fresh salad (some with meat some purely vegan/vegetarian) , a yummy very generously filled wrap, house made cookies and other delectable treats. They have a large selection of locally produced meats. Lots of organic canned goods, dairy and non-dairy items . . . the list goes on. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. If you're a die hard carnivore (like myself) and happen to be a local or a visitor from out of town…read moreand are in the greater Reno-Sparks metropolitan area, do yourself and make a stop to "Blue Ribbon Meat & Butcher Shop". Established in 1946 during the post-WWII/baby boomer era, this wildly popular butcher shop is one of the top picks for quality meats in Northern Nevada. Located directly on Prater Way and adjacent to 15th Ave in Sparks, they are nestled in between a 7-11 and Scoopers Drive-In. Parking is quite easy to find as they have a dedicated lot directly outside of the business. Furthermore, they have a very cool mural that showcases a pig, chicken, and cow which are all the types of meats this place sells. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 6/20/2026 at around 4:15pm. Keep in mind that they are closed for business on Sunday/Monday but are open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-6pm. Upon entry, there were quite a few customers but just about everyone was being serviced in a timely manner. Before we get to the meat, this place has a ton of seasonings, dry rubs, marinades, sauces, and a small amount of produce. Additionally, they also have a pre-packaged refrigerated & freezer section where you can purchase quantities of their meats/seafood as well as cold cuts and bottled beverages. However, the real winner is there display case as they offer a ton of beef items. This includes short ribs, chuck wagon, carne asada, tri-tip, and all very popular steaks. They carry a nice variety of pork, lamb, elk, venison, chicken, liver, veal, bacon, and sausage. Since I came prepared with an Igloo cooler (and still had a 2-hour drive home), I purchased their sirloin steak, ribeye steak, bacon burgers, and Hawaiian sausage links. Since I already cooked the sausage (the following day) for breakfast and sirloin steak for dinner, I will say that this place absolutely hits the spot and is arguably much better than Safeway, Raley's, & Save Mart. There's a reason why "Blue Ribbon Meat & Butcher Shop" has been around since the mid-1940s and that's because they are a quality old school butcher shop with very competitive prices (even with the huge price hikes in beef), excellent customer service, and delicious mouth-watering meats. The gentleman that helped me was very polite while their inventory display case was filled to capacity; even during the late afternoon on a Saturday. So if you're into family owned-and-operated butchers shops like myself, you can't go wrong checking this place out. With that said and done, I am giving this place a perfect five stars.

I made Beef Wellington at home for the first time and the tenderloin at Blue Ribbon was delicious at a decent price. The staff are always welcoming and quick to assist anyone for a selection or answer questions. I've become a reoccurring buyer and urge everyone to check out this local butcher shop!
