I was headed to the Caribbean restaurant in the plaza but it wasn't opened . Perhaps they decided to close after thanksgiving . This led to me looking to eat something different in the plaza . I didn't want to go any further, because it was already after 3 pm and I hadn't eaten lunch . I've already eaten at Firehouse sub many times and I definitely didn't want Dunkin. Therefore , I opted to try something new to me . This is when I discovered J Baffalo House. Yelp actually had the restaurant name backwards according to the signage on the building . This caused a bug of confusion when I began to write my review, but I digress. The spot looked like a typical fast food Chinese chain restaurant, but the promotional photos on the front window were pictures of gyros, chicken wings and catfish. I wasn't sure what I wanted but at this point my mind was on a gyro or catfish . As you can see from my picture of the front counter they were practicing social distancing with the plastic wrapped around the front and some type of glass enclosure. It didn't look aesthetically pleasing. However, I understand the reasoning behind the hideousness and looked past it. I went with a catfish dinner , by which came with cole slaw , fries and two slices of white bread . The bread was your basic sandwich bread . It wasn't toasted , grilled , buttered or anything of the such. I was given about two table spoons of cole slaw and I could have opted out . It was flavorless and nearly dry. The fish was ok . I had two decent sizes of catfish . It was shamefully fried . It wasn't over seasoned and it was piping hot when I got it . It was literally made to order . J Baffalo's House came in with the deal breaker as I had to use the bathroom. I walked through the door and the stench from the urine smell was awful ! I had to potty so badly I couldn't hold it any longer . This upset me because normally I wouldn't use the bathroom after seeing such a thing . I mean to see it and smell it, is to know how I felt . Lord Jesus !! You may not be able to see the urine on the floor puddling around the toilet in the photos , but I had to splash splash over there to pee. I never sit on public toilets , if that's what you're thinking . Child please , "no hebee gee bees's " for me . Thank goodness my purse was a backpack bag , because I wasn't going to lay it down anywhere. It was so gross in there I didn't wash my hands . You heard me ! Why ? My hands were cleaner than the faucet and everything else . I got out of there as fast as possible. I was so turned off by that I wanted a refund . As I proceeded to my car , the only thing I found thing of was my antibacterial wipes . Yes, I carry them everywhere. You bet your bottom dollar I used two of them . I looked at my food and it didn't look like the bathroom, but you know what ? It was a deal breaker for me . Let me tell you why . With Covid there aren't many patrons typically hanging out in restaurants. Therefore , who in the world left the bathroom in the condition? The floor was filthy , the sink and mirror looked nasty . A very small location with a lot of flavor. With so many wing locations nearby, this has been one of my favorites. It is mostly a to-go restaurant but they do offer indoor seating. It is a small, family owned place that deserves much more attention than they receive. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is their gyro was a little disappointing. But overall a great and flavorful place that specializes in exactly what their name implies. I personally enjoyed mixing their hot and lemon pepper wings. read more

I am only giving one star because I had to give this star to leave the review their customer service is piss-poor I call my order in 20 minutes prior to arrival I get there pay $14 mind you I ordered everything by phone she comes out and says it's going to be $2 more because she forgot to charge me for something that I said by phone I don't feel like that was there and I told her she needed to eat that cost cuz I've already paid you the $14 plus $0.50 more to get a can drink but then they want to get an attitude in at like I'm in the wrong so I simply cancel my order will never order from this establishment or any other J Buffalo's ever because they overcharged have hidden fees and I'll piss poor with their customer service y'all don't deserve any stars read more

I frequent Thornton Rd quite often and wanted to try a different place to eat. This particular place is located in one of the many shopping plazas on that road. I went there an hour or so before closing and ordered the Philly Chicken and fries combo. My overall rating would be a 7 for this place. The food was good/fair, appearance not the best, and the wait to cook the food was reasonable along with the price. I hate giving bad reviews. But lately my food experience on Thorton Road has been Terrible. I decided to try them only because Atlanta Wings has horrible customer service but I should have went to Wings R Us instead (was nervous because they just opened). I ordered a philly wing combo. Best thing about my food was the drink. The place looks dingy, and they nickel and dime your for simple condiments. I will say the portion sizes are large but everything is bland. My fries tasted like unseasoned lo-mein, my wings were bland and oily (got their new flavor honey garlic) and my philly was just ok. I won't be back. read more

The more I come here the worse it gets. They can be a little slow, the wings are some times good and some times hard or old or maybe even refried/reheated. And please for the love of God, do not go when they are about to close. Nothing irritates me more than a business sweeping the and spraying chemicals all around while I am eating or while I open my to go box to take a look at my food. Oh wait. What am I thinking. I came by earlier this week and my friend wanted Wings while I wanted Jerk Chicekn from Contreju Jamaican. Of course I warned her and even suggested City's Best two exits away. But nooooo. She was jungry and ready to eat right then. I dropped her off and drove over to Kroger to get gas because I knew it would take them a while to prepare her wings due to the line inside. It took me 12-15 minutes to come back from Kroger. Then I walked into Contreju placed my order. I got my order in about 15-20 minutes. Well do you know that my friends food was still not ready. So another 5 minutes or so and her food was done. I sat in the car and ate my food while she was waiting on her wings. Once we got back to my house she realized that half of her wings were too hard for her to eat. SO now let's see. That's 30 minutes for 20 hard wings and some luke warm fries. Really? Now the good points about this place is that it's pretty darn clean in here and the female owner or the woman that usually takes my order is always very polite. I wish I had read the first review of this place before I ordered my food. I've been to two other J Buffalo House locations, one in Douglasville and one in Alpharetta. Don't know if there's a difference between J Buffalo House and J Buffalo Wings, which is what the others are called..... but anywho....... This location reminds me of the one in Douglasville, but smaller. Nothing special on the inside. I ordered the 10 piece wing special -- half lemon pepper, half honey BBQ, all drums -- that came with a choice of fried rice or fries, and a drink. I chose the fries. Took about 10-15 minutes to receive my order. The fries tasted like 'blah', the lemon pepper wings were ok, but the honey BBQ wings were decent. Nothing special, just like the decor on the inside. I come here at least 3x a month. I've never had an issue before. Wings and fish are very good, and seasoned to my satisfaction. The young girl who works at the counter has often been rude but never any terrible experiences until today. I came in after I couldn't get through the phone lines and ordered a whiting fish dinner and a catfish and wing combo. She charged me for two whiting dinners. She then called me to the counter and asked me to pay another $1 for HER mistake. I said "so it's MY fault YOU made a mistake?" She then explained she had talked to her manager and it was upon his discretion. If I hadn't have been hungry and in a rush, I would have said forget the entire order. The $1 does not matter but I don't believe I should pay for a mistake of an employee for already overpriced food. read more

I went to this restaurant earlier this evening so the terrible experience is still fresh in my mind. Although this is a small retailer, with 6-8 tables, good food and good service are still expected. I ordered wings with 2 different sauces that I enjoyed at another restaurant. The wing order I received did not appear appetizing; however, I attempted to make the best of it. After eating 2-3 wings out of my order of 10, I knew that it wasn't just my tastebuds. I was a dine-in customer so I went to the counter and spoke to a mature woman who appeared to be the manager/owner of the store. I explained that the wings tasted "Funny". I couldn't articulate exactly what was off but something definitely was. I did NOT request any monetary compensation. I did ask what could be done about the situation since the wings had an unappetizing flavor. She replied that "others liked her wings." "There was nothing wrong with HER wings." She said that repeatedly. She instructed me to order something different next time. UNBELIEVABLE. I told her that I would not be coming back and tossed the wings in the trash on the way out of the store. Although I stated more than once that I did not want monetary compensation, this employee/manager/owner ??? offered NO RESOLUTION. This person, whatever her role, provided a very poor example of customer service. In response to my comment about the poor customer service I received, she replied, "I do give good customer service." She just didn't get it. I had paid $8.44 and had only eaten 25-30% of my order...while still in the store...and was dissatisfied with the food quality. I guess giving good customer service, in her opinion, means being a cordial order/money-taker because when it was time to step-up, show leadership and customer service excellence she really missed the mark. Why did I go to this restaurant? Good question. Short answer: the mall was closed. I gave J. Buffalo House an opportunity to win my business. They failed miserably. Customers matter. Unless this business changes its "entitled attitude", they will not be around for long. read more
