Finally had a chance to try this location and just in time for their fall menu. It's smaller than the rest but looks big because they're combined with poke works. My friend and I shared the miso semifreddo. We additionally got a drink, hers yuzu green tea, and I a specialty soda - peach cream. Miso Semifreddo wasn't terribly sweet which was great for me. Should definitely eat it with the paired citrus fruits together. I would totally want to try the other fall menu items. For my specialty soda, it was peach syrup with a scoop of condensed milk and soda water. It reminded me of orange cream soda but peach. Brunch here is amazing and such a good time. They have great drag queens for Saturday and Sunday brunch and they create so many fun moments for people who are either visiting or regulars. The servers are accommodating and they make sure your drinks are full the entire time. If you are ordering food you can never go wrong with the chicken sandwich or the steak and eggs. Came here around 9:30. The bouncer will check your ID and pat you down. We ordered a pitcher of Margarita and one hookah. Our order was given to someone else by mistake and in turn the staff asked us why we didn't say anything. We didn't know the other table got our order. How were we supposed to know? Other than that the service was good. Our waitress checked up on us numerous times to make sure we were good. It did start to become a little packed and extra chairs and tables were brought out to accommodate the patrons. It became so tight to a point that the staff had to maneuver around customers seated, or dancing or waiting for the bathroom. The bathroom situation here is a bit inconvenient. It's right next to the kitchen where food and hookah comes out of. There is only one bathroom on the main level and people will skip you if they are in a group. I am sure this is some kind of fire code violation. On the other hand there is a bathroom downstairs but you can only go if one of the staff members pulls you out of the back of the line. If you are a group of females walking towards the bathroom and they notice you they will automatically send you downstairs. So for those who are standing in line for a long time - tough luck and hold your bladder a bit longer. Only reason I gave this place 4 stars is due to the following: - Service was good - Margarita was ok Where it lacked that one star is their bathroom situation/solution, and making the place so packed to accommodate the extra patrons. Cousins and I were in the area for brunch and weren't ready to call it a night because it was New Year's Day. I searched for something nearby and we decided on this place. We were the only ones there because everyone was probably partied out from the night before lol. We were greeted immediately and chose a booth near the door. After walking to the bathroom later on I see we should have kept going and sat closer to the bar but we were already settled in. We settled on a carafe of passion fruit margarita. The first batch was tasty but not quite strong enough. We ended up getting a second carafe and asked the bartender/server if she could make it a bit stronger. The second batch was it! We ordered the appetizer platter to have something to nibble on, basic bar food but we demolished it. We also did hookah of course I can't remember what flavor we tried but we enjoyed it. We were there for hours and it was just us. The music was good, slightly loud considering the place was mostly empty but we were able to have a conversation. In addition when trying to order food, the waitress told me the food takes a long time and that she'd be back shortly to take my order, over and hour and the waitress kept walking by and ignoring me, obviously the food would take a while if they never took my order. I've been here twice for two birthday brunches. We've always been a group of 10+ people and always had great service. There's always a DJ that plays upbeat music and there's hookah of course. Came in as a group of 3 ordered a hookah which ended up lasting us the whole time we were there. It's a real hookah not the little ones in the cage. They use real coal not easy lites. I love passing by a place and not entirely knowing what to expect when you see if from the outside, but stepping a foot inside is like a whole different scene from your expectations. The hookah flavors are pretty basic but have potential depending on what your favorite blend is. You do have the ability to mix and blend different flavors. The music is what really did it for me. We got a glass of Cabernet ($12) & dusse with cranberry juice($14). The blue mist hookah for $38 was a pretty hefty price tag considering it's served without a lotus head. In a place like Astoria that's teeming with hookah lounges, you can find blue mist on a foil hookah for 12$. Will you get the ambience of this place? Terrible service. First of all, the online hours are wrong. They say 2am i got there with my sister's at approximately 11:15 pm there were a few parties inside and 1 outside. We sat outside and i went in and let them know that we were a party of 3. First someone came out and started folding all the chairs and tables and didn't say a word to us. Then the waitress came out and asked if we were ready to order. After we told her what we wanted she came back about 5 minutes later to tell us that they were closing at 12 and we are not gonna be able to stay. Instead of wasting our time they shouldn't have even let us sit! Their excuse was its a slow night. The ambiance at The Spot exceeded my expectations. Probably one of the best hookah spots I ever gone to. The staff was so welcoming and committed to providing my friends and I with great service. The drinks were okay and I liked the layout of the place, but unfortunately I was not a huge fan of the music. There wasn't enough variety, it was pretty much reggaeton for 75% of the night with little spurts of hip-hop, R&B and dancehall/reggae. It should have been more 25/25/25/25!
