Came here on a Saturday with a large group around 11:30. They were able to seat us immediately and let us know with a larger group it would be a little longer of a wait. They brought out complimentary popcorn which was delicious. Service was good. I felt a little bad for our waitress because she seemed a little stressed with a larger group but she did a great job. She was able to do individual checks for everyone which was very nice. The menu has a variety of regular bar food. I just ordered the French onion soup and thought it was good. Very cheesy and warm. We have been here 10 times since the ownership changed and have not had a bad meal! Onion soup, teriyaki pork chop, apple cheddar salad, chicken Alfredo pasta are just a few of the dishes we had. Wow. The Spot is new and greatly improved. BEST Reuben sandwich- the corned beef is tender and freshly made (you can taste the marinade slightly). The bread is thick and crunchy but not greasy. I wish manager would return calls. Was overcharged on a credit card and had to file dispute with credit card instead of handling it over phone with restaurant. Pretty disappointed! I hadn't been in here a few years, but had enjoyed this place quite often when stationed in Groton. Today we got seated. After about ten minutes, waitress "Taylor" came over to get drink and appetizer order. it came quickly. Then 20 minutes and no server had come to take the rest of our food over. When she finally did come over again, I told her we were about to just ask for the check bc of the wait. This restaurant is a family friendly place and also has a bar and outdoor seating. It is a casual place. Many choices on the menu for everyone's palate. Recently, I ordered takeout for the BAMA Miami football game! We had two orders of Buffalo wings. They came via grub hub which was also good service btw! The wings were large, still warm and came with ample bleu cheese dressing and celery. The second time we ordered burgers and they were tasty, cooked perfectly and also came warm. I've lived in this area for a while but for some reason never stopped by The Spot before this week. Wow, do I regret that! I was very pleased by my whole experience there. Ordered the fried Brussels sprouts for an appetizer and they were absolutely incredible. For dinner, I ordered the Seafood Ala Vodka - a summer special. I have to say, that was one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a while! I wish that could stay on the menu permanently so I can come back and have it again! And, for dessert, I ordered the chocolate cake which was delicious. Everyone else I was with that night enjoyed their meals as well. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The prices are very reasonable. They have a huge, somewhat circular, bar which is very welcoming. My husband and I went for a late afternoon light bite. We just had some soup, chili and shared an appetizer, but everything that we had was delicious. If you want to get in the door at this "see and be seen" nightspot, you'll have to open it yourself because there isn't a bouncer! Let me start with saying that our waitress was very good. I wouldn't say excellent because I think they, like many places today, are understaffed so we had to wait for service. But when she came, she was friendly, attentive and got our order right. The Spot is not what it used to be. A typical noisy local bar, it used to be a great "spot" to go for happy hour or a burger. It was always busy. Not so much last night. Noisy but not busy. The Spot was never a top end restaurant but their food was consistent and pretty tasty. Their calamari used to be in the top three that I ever had and now it isn't even on the menu. The queso had good flavor but like the white gravy for the chicken it was very pasty like it come out if I can - and had barely been heated. Other people at my table had fried fish and steak, neither looked very good. The steak was thin and cooked medium well, even though it was ordered medium rare. And the fish was also thin looking with a very dark crusty batter. It looked a little greasy and not appetizing. But, my biggest complaint was that I found a long hair in my hamburger. At first I thought it was mine that somehow got into my mouth while I was eating my burger. But then I found another and another and another. Then once in the car and on the way home, someone told me they never wanted to go back because they found hairs in their hamburger. So it wasn't just me! Gross! Needless to say, the next time I will be going to Sneekers not The Spot. Hopefully it hasn't changed as much. read more

If you're looking for that ​one special meal that you probably haven't had in a while. Treat yourself to the meatloaf dinner and you'll be thanking yourself you did. Hands down one of the best slices of loafed meat I've ever had. Super smooth, three thumbs up. I got the Mac n Cheese as a side and was pleased with flavor and creamy cheesiosity but it was lacking the crunchy bits or baked cheese top that we all love and know. But again, that meatloaf dinner will have your taste buds twerkin for more, go eat it. read more
