Service was so poor, meal was mediocre at best. Clean environment and easy location. Won't hurry back!

The spot has become a great place for my family to meet after a long day. I was a little tentative at first, due to getting my tired 3rd grader home, but we all need to eat! The atmosphere is warm, inviting and friendly, especially when it gets cold enough to have the fireplace lit (almost time!). Regardless of whether you are going to the bar side of the restaurant or the dining. We have had great service. The wait staff are friendly without being over-the-top. They are attentive to your needs without being in your face. The timing from placing the order to table has been just right. Enough time to catchup on the week's events without your stomach's needs becoming the focus. The food has always been delicious. Whether it's one of the huge salads (great option for family style salad for the table) or the fresh and delicately balanced sushi, or the great kids options, or...really, anything we have tried has resulted in smiles and happy taste buds and bellies. We went to the bar. The mixed drinks are good, but overpriced. Great selection of beer on tap. The service was a little slow, even though the place wasn't very crowded. We felt a little neglected by the bartender at times. We also ordered the appetizer, fried macaroni and cheese balls. They were delicious, but the outside crust was extremely salty. Overall, not a bad experience. Would go again. read more

I will be definitely making The Spot located just a short distance from my home one of my go -to Places for sushi. My husband son and I stopped in on Friday night around 8:30 and found the place hopping. Our server Allie was quick on her feet and extremely pleasant. I started off with a grey goose extra dirty made by the bartender Stacy - and while the bar was packed my drink was made very quickly. Our server suggested the spicy edamame which was awesome. We were extremely impressed with the two sushi chefs Max & Greg and their outstanding ability to create us a custom made sushi platter that was not only incredibly well presented but the YUMMIEST sushi we have ever had. I found the managers Christa and Jay and felt compelled to express our gratitude to them. We love The Spot and can't wait to return again. read more

Amazing bartender! Food was superb! Fish tacos were out of this world! We are from Wisconsin, otherwise we would definitely be back!

I was impressed with the food here, the steak tips literally melted in my mouth and were cooked a perfect medium rare. I also had a proscuitto bruschetta appetizer which was good. I love the atmosphere, there was an acoustic band playing when we went on a thursday which was great at the bar. I did order a dirty martini and was not overly impressed, however that specific drink is hit or miss at many places. My only real issue is that is actually priced very high. We dine out very often and I am certainly not afraid to throw some money down on a meal, and while the food is good I cant see going here without the restaurant.com coupon we always use. Luckily though, that coupon always seems available. Living social also occasionally has a deal for them as well, and they have weekly specials also. I will certainly continue to go with a coupon. read more

I am a frequent customer of two of the sister restaurants of The Spot, Opus and Hale Street, which i LOOOOVE. I decided to try this place since I was in the area and was equally impressed with the service and the food. I'm very picky with mussels and fried pickles and both were great. Also the pulled pork was fantastic in the asian pulled pork sandwich. Definitely would recommend for anyone!! Great menu, great atmosphere, and loved my waitress. read more

NOT IMPRESSED. Too bad, town needs a good Pub. Not family place, couples only. Kids price $10 for the smallest chicken fingers & ff. Sushi, small and just ok. sat on 2 seater in bar except everyone standing at bar had their butts in my plate. So after my last review a nice lady from their corporate offices contacted me via email and apologized for our experience there. They sent us out a gift card and asked us to come back and try them again. Me and my wife went there last night and I am happy to say that the food was excellent. I'm not sure what has changed in the last two weeks, but whatever it is I hope they keep it up. Me and my wife will be back there again soon and we look forward to more delicious meals. read more

This was a welcomed addition to the downtown area of Georgetown! A clean, friendly restaurant with a full bar and perfectly made sushi - how can you go wrong? The espresso martini was delicious as well, and my husband enjoys their beer selection. It tends to be a pricier night when we go there, but that is mostly by choice. We can't help but order sushi to go along with our dinner plates! Overall, this is my favorite place in the area! read more

My boyfriend and I are obsessed with The Spot! We just moved into the area and discovered it and have been back 4 times already. The service is always perfect. The food is awesome, and there is so much variety! No where else can I get high quality sushi while he eats delicious chicken and waffles! We came at 12:00 today and it wasn't busy but it took a entire two hours to get the food and the bill. The first shocker is the prices for a menu! Average plate for lunch 24.00. Then I asked the server about any specials and she said we don't do specials but then I had to pay attention for the next five minutes on what plates are no longer available or what meats aren't delivered yet. I asked her why doesn't the manager get revised menus, she said they're working on it. When the taco app arrived on the table there was burnt cheese Everywhere! They kept in the microwave to long. My fish sandwich coming in over 10.00 was all greasy and the fish looked like a minnow. The waiter saw that my wife and I had full plates when we asked for the check and she never asked if something was wrong! The restrooms are a one use so it's so pleasant to be sitting eating and having a line form to the side of you for the restroom. Save your money and if your willing to have your lunch cost 25.00 a plate go to a finer restaurant. Not this sad place read more

I have been to the Spot twice . The first time was a brunch with ok burgers. The portion of fries was ridiculously huge.... It was a mix of bikers and families, which I enjoyed...nice staff but slow.. But then again, they were just newly opened, so I can't complain all that much....Just went saturday with my fiancé hoping for a nice dinner... We split the huge dry chip plate called nachos... Despite this being an appetizer, it could literally feed a family of 5... Not good! She had the chopped salad that was all lettuce and a few boiled eggs mixed with pepperoni..... I had the linguini with clams....the pasta was fresh but under cooked and pasty... the clams were canned and chewy. I do not need to go into the details, but I do believe the clams gave me severe gastrointestinal upset lasting well into the early morning hours.. I do not plan on going back for a meal but as a local, I would definetly go there after work for a cocktail or two because the bar and atmosphere were pleasant.. I cannot make a negative comment on the wait staff.. They were refreshing and friendly...Hopefully with time things will improve... read more

My husband and I have been meaning to have dinner at The Spot for a while. We live in Newburyport where there are many fine restaurants to choose from but were intrigued by the menu and so drove to Georgetown last night to try it out. What a disappointment! The mussels were delivered to the table by a runner without the crostini so we flagged down our waitress who brought us some toasted bread that was too soft to be crostini. The dish was so bland I had to add salt. I ordered the steak tip salad, medium rare with dressing on the side. My husband had the crab cake BLTA. While waiting for our entrees my husband ordered another beer which the waitress totally forgot about. We had to flag her down once again. When the entrees came my salad had the dressing on it instead of the side. Ok, I can live with that. But the salad was just some lettuce and tomatoes and the steak was well done. I ended up eating the lettuce and some of the steak because we never saw our waitress again. My husband's dinner was mushy but ok. The fries were good. The waitress never came by to see how everything was and when I later complained she said I should have told her earlier. I would have if only she had come to check on us. NEVER AGAIN! read more
