I get The Avalon no coconut add chia and it's amazing! I've had the waffles also and it was yummy. I'm looking forward for the new Toast. I love the online ordering...place my order and they text me when ready. The staff is always friendly...even when they are super busy I always get a wave or "hey girl". this place has horrible employees. i walked in during covid-19 and forgot my mask at my house and held up my sweatshirt to cover my mouth and nose. then i saw someone walk in and out without a mask so i walked in and let go of my sweatshirt. the girl (young,blonde hair) asked me if i had a mask and i said no. my sister told me to just put my sweatshirt over my nose and mouth again. she told me i have to leave and get someone else to order what i wanted. ice cream wasn't even that good. 1/10 recommended, never will or even think to go back to this place. read more

We just had ice cream from the Spot. I have NEVER had such a skimpy scoop of ice cream in a small. It didn't even spill over the sides of the cone. It looked like they used a teaspoon to scoop the ice cream. Too bad because we are staying near by for the week. We won't be back. Prices were ridiculous for the quantity of ice cream! I think they were getting ready to close and had washed all their regular ice cream scoops! Taste was good that's the only reason I gave them 2 stars. Prices seemed reasonable for the ingredients- however, I would have liked to see a higher fruits/granola ratio to the blended stuff; after a few bites, I just felt like I was eating a bucket of ice cream. The bowls, $8-$9 each, are interesting and delicious consisting of fresh fruit and other toppings over a sorbet-like berry something and may leave one feeling less guilty than having had ice cream. As for the ice cream, cones as tasty as any other, filled with Hershey's ice cream. Take away the kids with the cool surfer hairstyles and the very charming decor with wrap around porch and you're left with basic grocery store ice cream but at $6 for a small. I'm ok with $6 PREMIUM ice cream or $2 Hershey's, but $6 for Hershey's leaves me dissatisfied. read more

I usually want to buy hats/shirts from places we visit but the designs aren't that great. Can't be said for The Spot. They also carry Hamlock Straw hats which I had been looking for. This was our favorite find this year at the OBX - seriously we went three days in a row because we wanted to try every flavor of açaí bowl there was - they're all absolutely frickin amazing and you can't go wrong with any of them - forced to pick two, Loggerhead and the mermaid or Avalon - we also had Belgium waffles which were amazing - the batter was sweet and delicious, topped with whipped cream and strawberries - so good ! Option to top with ice cream as well, it's Hershey's I've cream but the flavor options are pretty decent - The poke bowl was good but I wouldn't rush back for that - top off the whole experience the people that work there are great - shout out to Patti and that cute young boy working the register for being so nice and helpful as well as efficient - these guys hussle - just know that the açaí bowl is an art and each one is made fresh so be patient - they're worth the wait !!! The Spot advertises Açaí bowls but you can never get them! Always changing the available times around. Went twice this Labor Day weekend and was disappointed both times! If they're too difficult and time consuming to make, don't advertise them. Plenty of places in the OBX to get better ice cream. read more

When I first walked into the spot its atmosphere took me away it's cool laid back and surfer which totally complimented the food. There is ice cream, smoothies and acaì bowls (probably spelled wrong). Everything is delicious the ice cream I believe is Hershey brand. But my all time favorite is the acaì bowl. At first I was confused what they were but it is a soupy consistency made with acaì which is full of benefits it taste like a berry but also Cocoa it's strange but delicious. It is Blended with the top part in the description for ex. Banana and almond milk with the berry, and then there is the toppings. They are all incredible combinations and are super delicious. My suggestion is the loggerhead or hammer head. Go visit for breakfast lunch or snack this is my favorite spot so go and try you can not get the bowls past 7:00 pm!! read more
