Updating my review to further express how great their açaí bowls are. This time I ordered online for pick up. The online ordering system isn't great (see below), however, I eventually found what I was looking for and called to adjust the pick up time. Since the large wasn't available, I chose regular for one bowl and mega for the other. I also paid for extra granola for both. Although the toppings look skimpy, we were pleasantly surprised to find the extra granola at the bottom of the regular bowl. Then the mega bowl was basically a double decker acai bowl. Acai on the bottom with selected toppings then more acai resting under another layer of the selected toppings. It's definitely worth it to get the mega bowl. They also make good smoothies and use compostable materials. Our orders have been accurate and filling. Plus the employees are friendly. Issues with the online ordering: -I couldn't adjust the pick-up time. Even though they were open for another 5 hours, the only option for pick up was next day at 9:30 am. I called after placing the order and they said they could make the order right away. -large perfect bowl is not an option (all other sizes were available) -special bowl options are confusing. No option for granola but there is an option for extra granola. No description for what it contains yet you can remove items. -many of the items do not have descriptions, luckily I had been here before so I knew what the perfect bowl entailed

The service was great!! Cute ambiance. Great option for Acai bowls. Wish they have more options gor coffee beside cold brew and regular hot pot coffee. Was wishing for espresso or .... something a little more . Overall, Great will be back.

Definitely recommend this spot. Great place to bring some friends and enjoy refreshing treats. The açaí bowls are very good, reasonably priced, and worth your time. There is absolutely no where better on earth for açaí bowls than the spot. I will die on that hill defending this place. We come to the outer banks once a year and eat here every day just for them. They layer the toppings with their larger sizes which makes it so amazing. Also we had our dog with us and the manager walked out with ice cream to make sure our dog got something. Staff is so friendly and they have a lot of clean seating. Greatest açaí ever.

The service was quick and the açaí bowls were very tasty. I got a small Avalon bowl with peanut butter and I'm so glad I added the peanut butter because it made it a lot better. Their base is very good and flavorful and everything was fresh.

Love this shop and make it a point to support it frequently during any OBX sojourn. Never tried the ice cream or whatever else they may have, to me it's all about the açaí bowls. It's easy to eat a bunch of junk on vacay, and I'll admit I can be guilty of that, so I'll typically make a meal each day with a bowl here - they work at breakfast, lunch and dinner and they're both crazy healthy and crazy delish. The Spot features a wrap-around porch and a game/picnic area, both of which have seating and are dog-friendly. Service is almost always friendly; the order taker today had an ugly case of the morning grumpies but the one who delivered my bowl was charming and helpful. See you next trip!

WOW ! I had the make your own acai bowl, I had fresh strawberries, kiwi, granola, Coconut and blueberries it was delicious! I also had the Avocado toast it was just ok- not much to it. The younger kids making food are really nice and friendly. I also ordered our daughter an Avalon- They do charge extra for substituting example no honey sub almond butter- really $1next time I will get another pick 5 then there is no extra charge for the first 5 ingredients. My husband had a hot fudge sundae- he said it was the best one he'd ever had. Restaurant was clean- we sat outside with the dogs.

100000/10 best bowl I've had! Quick service, friendly staff and the best bowl! Easily could've gone here every day of our trip!

Love coming to this place for açai bowls! My only complaint is that I have a tree nut allergy and have to sub out the granola for seeds (and pay extra to do so). The crunch is an essential part of the açai bowl experience and my chia/hemp/flax combo just didn't pack the same punch (although it was super tasty--don't get me wrong). Please, please consider adding nut-free granola to your menu! That would absolutely make this a 5-star experience. read more

I should start by saying that I rarely give a full 5 stars. The Spot is located conveniently in Nags Head and has plenty of parking. i arrived at 9AM after reading a post online about their acai bowls. I wasn't familiar with these because I am not that hipster, but I was intrigued. The atmosphere is great- reggae music pumping on the speakers, but not obnoxiously loud. Beachy décor and a big wrap around porch with seating welcome you while you wait (approx. 5 minutes for me) for your acai bowl to be prepared. The rest of the review will give due credit to the almighty acai bowl. Fine, I jumped on the hipster bandwagon with my fancy acai bowl breakfast. Don't care. It was heavenly. I further rocked the bandwagon by sending a picture of my bowl to my friends. Stop judging. I enjoyed the Hammerhead which has acai, almond milk, bananas, coconut, almonds, honey, protein powder and a good heap of dark chocolate. I got the small ($8) but wanted the large when I hit the bottom of the bowl. It feels healthy even if it isn't and it was a great break from the boring eggs or bagel. Contrary to what I read online, they do not have customer wifi- it's only for employees. I needed to get some work done on my laptop. The nice guy working at the counter may or may not have slipped me the wifi password and I worked here all morning. I will recommend the acai bowls and this place over and over. Loved it. This place is definitely worth a stop. The acai (ah-sigh-EE) bowls are like nothing else you've ever tried. Our fave is the loggerhead with strawberries added on top. It's just as tasty as ice cream, but it's so much better for you. It's not fast food though. Everything is made to order, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The staff is super friendly and helpful, too. And, if you're lucky, the manager Patti will be working. She's the best!!! read more

Delicious! The acai bowls are out of this world, fresh fruit, yummy granola, perfectly blended, and extremely tasty. Smoothies are also great. I would highly recommend this place whether you are looking for a milkshake, a smoothie, an acai bowl, or some good old hard ice cream with a wide variety of flavors. Good ice cream but it's just Hersey's. Got 4 stars because I ordered a 2 scoop cup and it was quit small serving. And yes I got charged for 2 scoop. My wife got a single scoop cone and got just as much as I did. Maybe an honest mistake but dang. I wanted some ice cream. Oh well plenty of other choices in town. read more

Very popular space. We were able to bike (well, I roller-bladed) over to The Spot within 15 minutes of our place. My wife and I split a Pitaya bowl. Super Healthy option and it was HUGE. Expensive, but loaded with a whole banana, granola, peanut butter, chocolate and coconut. The Pitaya was not my favorite thing. It lacked flavor, but that is not a knock on this place. Just not for me. Many, many Hershey's Ice Cream flavors, which is a bit of a let down since I live in PA and see their flavors everywhere, but we knew that going in and wanted the kiddo to order something she would enjoy. A couple picnic tables out front, but mostly to go. It was pretty chaotic and unorganized inside. I watched my daughter go in to ask for a lid for some leftovers, but she was completely ignored at the counter, which I thought was odd. She is very polite/patient and I eventually went in to tell her never mind the lid. A nice healthy option for the week, but the price itself was a bit much. read more

Maybe a 3.5. While I enjoyed the acai bowl that I got, most of my issues with The Spot are more so with some of the other factors. I did not like the fact that a man (presumably an employee) was walking in and out of the food prep area with no shoes and a tank top, I get its the beach and this establishment is a hipster, surfer type place, anyone in food prep or a kitchen should at least be dressed like it. There was also a lot of junk piled up out back which is where the parking lot is... Old refrigerators, a washer and dryer, just makes me think if an owner has this little care about a first impression that everyone can see, what is the opinions about the inside where no one can see. It's a great spot if you're 20 and going out to surf or a hipster looking for the non pancakes, typical breakfast place. But not really accommodating if you have small kids, maybe around 10 or over. Plus it be nice if there was more than a small sign that said: "patience please, acai bowls take at least 10 minutes" and the fact that our ticket was the 7th added and the only other people in there were 2 teenage girls, a woman at the bar, and a small group of women, everyone of which was still waiting for food. So expect to wait especially if it's crowded. Acai bowl was good, I got the Logerhead, Mrs got the Avalon...Both were a good change up for breakfast but nothing I found overly out of this world, basically bananas, peanut butter, dark chocolate shavings, granola and a honey drizzle with a beautiful presentation when you get it, however once you mix it all together it just becomes a dark purple blob. They boast the bowls (priced at $7-9 for regular $10 and up for larges) to be healthy but no way with how sweet they were they can be all that healthy. I'd never heard of acai bowls but they were different, basically fruit and ingredients on top a smoothie. If you're a surfer dude or chick/ hipster crunchy type it's totally worth a try... If you've got small kids, you better bring the iPad to keep them occupied They also promote their ice cream options, not super impressed with a selection of Hershey flavors. Second place we've gone with Hershey ice cream. Beginning to think Milt's company owns the market on ice cream in the OBX read more

I make a trip down to the obx a few times a year, whether it's a week trip or just a day. Every time I stop here for an ice cream cone. I haven't tried a lot, because what I know is good, is realllly good. I always get a sugar or waffle cone. I was in the mood for their pistachio ice cream this current trip, but they didn't have it. I understand pistachio is not that popular, but it's one of the few places I've been to that actually serves it. Oh well. I got a heavenly hazelnut they had just put out. So rich, so good. My boyfriend got a chocolate cappuccino ice cream, we couldn't decide which one made the better choice. I highly recommend this place for all your ice cream needs! read more

I absolutely ADORE this place. I went there with some friends when we were on vacation, and we just couldn't get enough. Out of the seven days we were there, I think I went there at least three times. First, the fruits were extremely fresh and sweet, and there's quite an abundance of them in every bowl. The acai was a very thick texture, which is absolutely delicious. I also asked to substitute a few ingredients in my bowl, and the ladies in the front were very accommodating. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the ice cream, but I'm sure they're just as good as the acai bowls. read more

I love the Acai bowls! I think I've tried them all and the new "Green Room" is my favorite! You can also add toppings of your choice to the bowls. The fruit is fresh and delicious. I crave them at least once a week! Friendly service and good atmosphere. Kid friendly as well. read more

Best place for a smoothie or smoothie bowl in OBX. You can order off a menu, or create your own. Everything is super fresh and delicious, and there are so many options for you to customize your bowl. Went here twice during my stay in OBX and both times I was blown away by the peach flavored ice cream. For a single scoop, it's a reasonable $3.50. However, the service wasn't quite as good as the flavor, probably because there was 1 person working the register and filling the orders. I think during higher vacation period, they'll need more people working for things to go smoothly. read more
