BEST açaí bowls ever!! This is by far our favorite açaí bowl restaurant. We've been plenty of times and they never disappoint. They put lots of toppings on, and their fruit is fresh. The mega bowl has layers - it's great. The workers are always so friendly and love giving away free pup cups! They have a nice outdoor area to sit. They are able to make the bowls pretty quickly. There are 2 gravel parking lots with plenty of parking

Updating my review to further express how great their açaí bowls are. This time I ordered online for pick up. The online ordering system isn't great (see below), however, I eventually found what I was looking for and called to adjust the pick up time. Since the large wasn't available, I chose regular for one bowl and mega for the other. I also paid for extra granola for both. Although the toppings look skimpy, we were pleasantly surprised to find the extra granola at the bottom of the regular bowl. Then the mega bowl was basically a double decker acai bowl. Acai on the bottom with selected toppings then more acai resting under another layer of the selected toppings. It's definitely worth it to get the mega bowl. They also make good smoothies and use compostable materials. Our orders have been accurate and filling. Plus the employees are friendly. Issues with the online ordering: -I couldn't adjust the pick-up time. Even though they were open for another 5 hours, the only option for pick up was next day at 9:30 am. I called after placing the order and they said they could make the order right away. -large perfect bowl is not an option (all other sizes were available) -special bowl options are confusing. No option for granola but there is an option for extra granola. No description for what it contains yet you can remove items. -many of the items do not have descriptions, luckily I had been here before so I knew what the perfect bowl entailed

AMAZING!! My favorite açaí bowls to date. I get the 'my perfect bowl' where you can choose 5 toppings of your own and it's my top choice. Staff is very friendly :) and the store is very cute with places to sit. If you get the chance to go do it!

There is absolutely no where better on earth for açaí bowls than the spot. I will die on that hill defending this place. We come to the outer banks once a year and eat here every day just for them. They layer the toppings with their larger sizes which makes it so amazing. Also we had our dog with us and the manager walked out with ice cream to make sure our dog got something. Staff is so friendly and they have a lot of clean seating. Greatest açaí ever.

Definitely recommend this spot. Great place to bring some friends and enjoy refreshing treats. The açaí bowls are very good, reasonably priced, and worth your time. The service was quick and the açaí bowls were very tasty. I got a small Avalon bowl with peanut butter and I'm so glad I added the peanut butter because it made it a lot better. Their base is very good and flavorful and everything was fresh.

Love this shop and make it a point to support it frequently during any OBX sojourn. Never tried the ice cream or whatever else they may have, to me it's all about the açaí bowls. It's easy to eat a bunch of junk on vacay, and I'll admit I can be guilty of that, so I'll typically make a meal each day with a bowl here - they work at breakfast, lunch and dinner and they're both crazy healthy and crazy delish. The Spot features a wrap-around porch and a game/picnic area, both of which have seating and are dog-friendly. Service is almost always friendly; the order taker today had an ugly case of the morning grumpies but the one who delivered my bowl was charming and helpful. See you next trip!

WOW ! I had the make your own acai bowl, I had fresh strawberries, kiwi, granola, Coconut and blueberries it was delicious! I also had the Avocado toast it was just ok- not much to it. The younger kids making food are really nice and friendly. I also ordered our daughter an Avalon- They do charge extra for substituting example no honey sub almond butter- really $1next time I will get another pick 5 then there is no extra charge for the first 5 ingredients. My husband had a hot fudge sundae- he said it was the best one he'd ever had. Restaurant was clean- we sat outside with the dogs.

I come to OBX every year and every year, a visit to The Spot is a must - I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to finally write a review! ALTHOUGH, I always mention/recommend it to people planning vacations here... so I'm spreading the gospel old school, word-of-mouth style! Anyway, this is the go-to place to get your açaí/smoothie bowl fix. I stay a few miles away so I like biking over for brekkie - it's the best way to start a day to be spent under the sun. I ordered the Mermaid Bowl and my boyfriend got the Hippie Bowl. They are total YUM as-is, but I'm sure they'll accommodate any substitutes you're needing. The staff is on-the-ball, especially as the crowd picks up, so kudos to them! read more

This is the best ice-cream around hands down! We have gone twice during our week at OBX. I would give the combined visits a 4 1/2 star and only knocking a half star off because of an employee working yesterday who clearly didn't want to be bothered with working. She was visibly rude to her coworkers and when she handed me my brownie sundae, she had an attitude about explaining that they were out of whipped cream. No big deal but when my husband was handed his brownie sundae a few minutes later by another employee it was topped with whipped cream. As were other customers orders who were served after me. Maybe this employee was having a rough day but the encounter was unpleasant. All of the other employees were friendly and helpful. The ice-cream is the best around! read more

I go on vacation every year since I was three months old and recently, for the past couple of years, I came across this place. I was looking for breakfast that would not hurt my stomach since I have digestive issues. I fell in love with all the açaí bowls and smoothies. Delicious açaí bowls with lots of different seating options. Really cool vibe and all the fruit is super fresh. They do get really busy certain times of day, so be prepared to have 20-30 minutes during peak times, but that's just a testament to it being good! read more

Best place in town to get an acai bowl! Even better, it was only a couple blocks from the place where we were staying. I had a strawberry, banana, pineapple, blueberry, and coconut custom-made and it was absolutely fantastic. Loved the freshness of the acai and overall flavor of it. Definitely hit the spot haha! This place is great to get a smoothie in the morning before hitting the beach. I've gone twice and was satisfied with my purchase but I wasn't too happy with how pricey it was. I do understand that açaí bowls are expensive to produce but it isn't appealing seeing such a large price tag on such a small bowl. Despite the price, I will still continue to come back because they are delicious! read more

As someone who comes to Nags Head constantly, I have always went to The Spot for Acai bowls and ice cream. I went on Sunday get ice cream. My sister has a life threatening egg allergy so when I asked if the ice cream had eggs in it, the staff was very rude. The blonde girl rolled her eyes and said "let me get the book" very rudely. After we went through the ice cream to figure out which flavors she could have the dude with the pink hair asked me if I had any more questions, comments or concerns in regards to the book. Then the two blondes and him made fun of the situation. I have never been so appalled by a staff's behavior before. I used to love The Spot but after this treatment, I will never go back. read more

This is the best açaí bowl I've ever had. They're all very good but if you like peanut butter, the loggerhead is fantastic. It's a fun atmosphere too, good space and good for kids. Swing by the surf shop right next door owner by the same woman who is always so kind. We stop here every time we're in the OBX and most recently we stopped here everyday on vacation. I came in here specifically for the Acai bowl. It did not disappoint! We ordered the loggerhead. I was prepared for a long wait because the line was long. But I only waited five minutes for my bowl. It was awesome! The Acai berry as the base is delicious. Next time I may throw on Nutella. I can't wait for a next time! I recommend this stop for something different. They also had smoothies, freshly made waffles and hand dipped ice cream. read more

We were told to come here to try the açaí bowls and we were not disappointed! They were delicious!! The fruit was all fresh and perfect on top. The granola was nice and crunchy! If I still lived here this place would be dangerous for me. The atmosphere is super chill.. Wasn't expecting the prices but best $9 I spent on my vacay this far! Didn't hurt that they had Jack Johnson playing that added to the chillness. I got the mermaid bowl sans blueberries. Absolutely blew my mind. My friend recommended this place and I would definitely recommend to anyone! I hope I can find a place that does something similar to this in Florida. Best acacia bowls ANYWHERE! They now have 2 locations but the hours are slightly different and are NOT open on Sunday. The acacia had the right texture and consistency. It was not overly sweet. The toppings of fresh fruit was just that, fresh. Employees were friendly. Well worth it. read more

Who reviews an ice-cream place. We liked their flavors, where do you find a superman flavored ice-cream for kids. The banana split was innovative with multiple flavors. The prices are very affordable. It is nice they have some fruit acai berry bowls, but we didn't get a chance to try them. If you're looking for ice-cream at Nags head, try this instead of some regular random place. read more

Acai bowls are really good and filling. Stick with them. Their ice cream is from Hershey's, I had the banana's foster and really enjoyed it. I've also tried the poke bowls and while it was good, it is basically just tuna and rice. All toppings are extra. Overall nice place and I would go back. read more

So good!!! One of the things I miss most about having a place in OBX! They really are amazing açaí bowls! I've never had the ice cream, but the bowls are so delicious. I truly could have one everyday and don't think I could get tired of them. Yes, they aren't the fastest thing to make but people should expect that for how fresh they are and how beautiful the presentation is. The service is always so friendly too. Obsessed! read more

The ice cream/milkshake was average and not worth the price. Acai bowls and smoothies, probably. They tried to ring up a milkshake that had just been paid for by me onto one of my friends bills, but she caught it before she paid because she knew it shouldn't be that much. They have cool things like honey sticks and cool 70s theme apparel, but I would probably go to a different surrounding ice cream shop before returning during my next OBX visit. read more

Without a doubt the best açaí bowl place in the world. Used to live in manteo and would get a bowl every weekend they were open. I now live in Orlando and have been desperately trying to find a place here to replace The Spot but that has proven impossible. Think I'm going on vacation in the OBX next summer and am excited for the beach but just as excited about The Spot. read more

I completed an online order with minimal customizations made on some of the bowls we ordered. Not a single customization was actually completed. One was "No honey" on a bowl for someone who is allergic. The other two were paid additions to standard bowls. We paid for toppings we did not receive. The bowls taste great, but I would be hesitant to complete an online order again. read more

Great size parking lot, sounds like they get a LOT of customers based off their signs. And they do have a lot, so you know exactly what to expect. The whole house is beautiful, love their decor and the cute way people hide money in the cracks and crevices of the establishment. This is the second place I have been to that I've seen this done. My younger one hid a quarter of her own. Also, wish we weren't rushing out so quickly to head to our next spot because I would have loved some cute merch! T-shirts, hoodies, bags, cups, etc. The establishment is clean, well maintained, and overall a total OBX vibe. Lots of sitting areas inside and outside on the porch. Service was cool, younger highschool kids mainly, they had a lot of them at the counter. I didn't need any help but they seem ready and willing to be at service. No complaints. They also offer military discount. A+ for our active military and veterans. The ice cream was great. Think froyo style places where it's based off weight. I had a mixture of Vanilla, pretzel, and cheesecake. I liked the cheesecake best especially with the cheesecake toppings. My friend got an ice cream sandwich, note she isn't a super sweets person but she really enjoyed it. She did say the cookie part of the sandwich was a bit too sugary for her personally. Me on the other hand, bring on the sugar. The kids had an awesome time selecting their ice cream and toppings. Every one of them loved being able to make their own decisions and create exactly what they wanted. As for the toppings I do wish they had crushed graham crackers, would have been great with the cheesecake bites. Note* Slowly pull the handle for ice cream. Some come out way faster than others and you end up with a way too filled bowl. Overall an excellent experience and a certified Surfin' Spoon roadie! Just need to grab some merch next time to show them off as I travel!

I swear, when I was leaving here, I accidentally drove over an area of grass instead of the entrance to the road. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has ever done that.
