Last time we ordered online the lamb curry came filled with meat (definitely worth $20 for a meal) and was very good. Decided to come back for Easter Sunday and had to order to go and got the same thing. This time though we got 7 pieces of meat in a $20 curry entree. We bought two entrees, plus garlic naan and a drink. And based off the previous time, we thought we'd have enough to share for a family of three. Paid over $50 plus tipped to get home and open our meal up to this. This was coming out of a 10 hour work shift too so we were very hungry. Pretty disappointed with the portion size this time and inconsistent quality. Made us question whether to return this time... flavor was still super good, but had to leave a review because of the way we're feeling about the portion size, especially considering what we paid. read more

I like to eat Indian food that is bursting with spices and while I could see they used cumin and some turmeric, I couldn't taste the garlic or ginger that was advertised with my dish. The chai was good, but came in a small cup with no refills. My friend that I ate with was vomiting within hours after eating a chicken dish. Maybe it was just a coincidence. We went here for the lunch buffet at 1 in the afternoon. There was no one else there. The restaurant was very clean. We tried every dish the buffet offered. I am not a fan of Indian food because the spices are too much for me. I could eat every single dish because there was no heat whatsoever. The flavors were very unique though and delicious. The rice was burnt and crunchy. There wasn't much meat in the dishes. The naan bread is not like normal naan bread and was crunchy and greasy. It was worth the cost but not what we would call normal Indian heat and flavors. read more

My wife and I got sick from their food. It was the first and last time we will ever eat there. It's very expensive for the entrées and they consist mostly of sauce. It is very little chicken or vegetable vegetables or shrimp. And the shrimp wasn't even a normal type- - There were only a few bits of strange chopped-up shrimp-like parts that were quite nasty, and we threw them out. I was contacted a week ago by a representative of the Linn-Benton health department. She said she obtained my name and phone number from the collection of receipts that they obtained from this restaurant, and there were numerous complaints about people getting sick from their food. She said this restaurant has been inspected and found to be in violation of the health code. She also said that the restaurant's staff have been warned several times about that. read more

I am not in any way trying to be mean the waitress was nice... the food was disappointing to say the least. I literally had to try the CHICKEN TIKI MASALA twice to make sure i was actually eating something. It was so insanely flavorless... it's Chicken tiki masala... one of the most flavor filled dishes i've ever tried. The chutney was also a let down... chutney is one of my favorite things on earth. I wouldn't even consider it as "Indian" cuisine. The service was very slow. Again not trying to shit on this place but I do not want others to be let down in the way we have been. This place has an amazing lunch buffet. I'm celiac (gluten free) and Staff members walked me through every single dish and what was in it. All the sauces were gluten free. Food was great. It's not very spicy Indian food but it is flavorful. I think this place is super up and coming. Only two buffet items were not gluten free because they couldn't guarantee the fryer wasn't gluten free. Lastly, the bar looks amazing! The family that owns and operates this fairly new Indian restaurant has been working hard to please their customers, and I have been the happy beneficiary of their efforts. From the buffet to the thali, and the lamb and goat specials, the food has been outstanding and the portions enough for two meals, but I don't like to eat more than I can carry. If you're 70 or older, there's discount on the buffet. I like the spices to be mild, and all the buffet selections were perfect for my tastes. If you want more heat, ask for the spices and add your own. For the other dishes, I always request them to be as mild as possible, so I can appreciate their more subtle flavors. YMMV. read more

Our friends have been talking about this restaurant and we have been wanting to try it. Today was the day, there was 8 of us. 4 adults, 4 kids, we ordered Samosa which are Potatoes & peas in crisp pastries,Chicken Korma which is simmered gently in a mild almond cream sauce,Chicken Malai Kabob which is roasted chicken breast in a creamy marinade, Malai Kofta Vegetarian which is vegetable dumplings with cheese in a onion cream sauce, and garlic Naan,with garlic & cilantro. We shared dinner with friends and ordered many dishes to try a wide variety. Pakora were different than what I've had before but tasty and freshly fried; mostly potato, cauliflower and onion. Samosa were excellent, clearly handmade and fully stuffed with potato and peas. Mushroom korma was a little light on mushrooms but the gravy was delicious. Chicken Tikka Masala: chicken breast was dry but that's what happens when Americans prefer white meat. The dish is better with dark meat. I would have liked a little less tomato in the gravy. Lamb Sadha was excellent; tender and balanced with chunks of onion for texture. Possibly the best dish of the night. Goan fish curry was tasty but a little heavier than anticipated. Fish was nicely juicy, not overcooked. The roti were different than expected but interesting. Delicious garlic naan in a chewier style that I liked much better than the pillowy stuff elsewhere. We ordered everything medium and could easily have gone up a level. This is the kind of place where if you go a few times, they'll get to know your preferred spice level. Really gracious people. We ate far too much and everyone agreed we'll come back to try more dishes. I'm interested in the onion bhaji, baingan bartha and dal tadka. read more

We are not that familiar with Indian food and we tried Indian Family Kitchen for the first time. We what heard that the butter chicken was excellent so my husband ordered that. I asked our server for his advice and he gave me several suggestions. I ended up choosing the Lamb Tawa Massala and we ordered garlic naan. Portions were generous and the food was excellent! The butter chicken sauce was so good: a creamy, tomato based delight. The lamb melters in your mouth and the brown sauce with that was also excellent. And the garlic naan!! This is a ultimately positive review but with a caveat. The service issues were real but I dont expect them to struggle with it in the future. They are a new restaurant and they had a bad moment. They were apologetic and accommodated us as best as they could. I still plan to go back and when I do I'll update my review. The food tasted amazing. I had the vindaloo, and my party ordered the Tikka and the tandoori chicken. All delicious. The service issue was simply that it took 1.5 hrs to get our food. They explained why, and apologized. I don't need to go into why here, but I don't see it being a persistent problem. My only critique would be better communication about the delay as soon as it was apparent. Given what is probably a one-off problem, and the quality of the food, I'd still say 4 stars. read more
