Regarding ambience, service and food, I agree with many of the statements below: The Squire provides a rewarding dining experience. To that I would like to add a personal note. My friends and I chose to celebrate Easter Sunday at The Squire this year, and had just ordered our dinner. Suddenly, I began to feel ill and tried to find a gracious way to leave. Before I knew it, the restaurant staff was at my side, calling 911 and first responders to the restaurant. I was so grateful for the caring assistance of the staff, in particular the manager, Faye Basile, who treated me as she would have treated a member of her family, during an awkward and frightening moment. When it was time for me to be taken to the hospital, I had relaxed enough to allow the paramedics to give me the treatment that I needed. I will continue to return to The Squire with gratitude, as much for their caring service as for their excellent food and dining atmosphere. read more

Last night my boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner at 8 pm (Davis reservationTruly one of the best meals we've ever had. From the Orange crush suggested by our lovely waitress to the caesar salad (so flavorful and not overdressed) to the Surf and Turf for two. Just a wonderful meal and while I do not remember our servers name (sorry girl) she was THE BEST. 1. First time dining at the Squire at Branches. 2. Friday night lobster special. We did not get the lobster as most of the people dining around us did not get the lobster either. 3. Service was very friendly and engaging. 4. The food was okay. Pastas. Not great. Not bad. Just okay. 5. Vibe was terrible. DJ music was being piped into the dining area from another section of the establishment that was setup to be a dance bar. The thumpa thumpa dance music and DJ banter did not reconcile with the customers in the dining section. Not a comfortable dining experience. I'm not sure who recalls the former pub here but I was absolutely blown away walking in and seeing the renovations. Wouldn't even remotely recognize and they have a very talented team behind the operation especially the chef who revamped the entire menu and wine list. Standing ovation - not only was the new restaurant stunning but the event space and patio were immaculate! Much needed facelift and was all around impressed. read more

Hard to not give 5 stars! We love local but we went for the first time in April for our anniversary! The service was outstanding, the food was even better than expected and the brought out our dessert with a candle and a scroll with our names on it! It truly was memorable! I had a lovely experience at this restaurant. The staff and service were super attentive and informative. The drinks were delicious and their restaurant week menu was worth every penny! If you're trying to plan the perfect date night, definitely give The Squire a visit. We made a reservation online for two and were seated fairly quickly. The bread was warm, and despite me not liking olives, still very crunchy and yummy. The oysters were my favorite as well as the cheesecake. Everything was so perfectly cooked and flavored. Overall the portions were super fair, leaving me full and content. My only complaint is that I couldn't fit more food in my belly! I cannot wait to be back again! read more

Just made it to last night of Jersey Shore Restaurant Week program. What a find! We had never been to The Squire before. Food was excellent. Our party had the mezza combo and beef empanadas! Really good. We had the pork chop and filet mignon for main course- also delicious. NY cheesecake and crème brulee for dessert. I want to go back to try their regular menu. Nice atmosphere. Nice show. However bringing the main course when we barely started the salad was not appropriate. The table for two wouldn't have held both in any event. When brought back the Chicken Milanese was lukewarm at best. Don't know whose fault it was but it shouldn't have happened. read more

If i could give it zero stars I would. Worst service i've ever experienced. I've gotten better service at a taco bell. Saw our waiter in the beginning and then never again we ran out of water and never got a refill and then on top of that we got our dessert but had to wait 5 mins for our waiter to show up and get us some utensils. thats when i asked for more water and didn't receive any lol. food wasn't bad, but god idk how you have a classy place with terrible waiters like this. It was good to get to go here again. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Squire's Pub in 1982. And, we held our 25th wedding anniversary celebration at Branches. The restaurant was beautiful and the lighted menus were a nice touch and so unique. I ordered the chicken parm and should have been warned about the size of the serving. It really was too much and so over whelming. Then salad was very nice too. The favors were spot on, but again...way too much... So, if you, ask about the portion size and maybe think more about family style and sharing around the table. We will go, again. This was my first time at The Squire. I was impressed with the ambiance- flowers and tea lites hung from the ceiling creating a relaxing mood. There are little lights on each table and - a backlit menu! I never saw this before and it was so easy to read with plenty of selections. I started out with an orange crush cocktail which tasted just like a creamsicle - it was so light and refreshing! Fresh bread was brought to the table and I chose a poppyseed roll with butter - so fresh and tasty! I was there with my son so we split an order of fried calamari- crispy with a special spice making it just right. Next we both ordered the 6 oz filet mignon - cooked perfectly and so easy to cut. We finished with a vanilla bean crème brûlée with berries which just may be the best I've had in a ling while. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, always smiling. I will definitely be returning to The Squire and look forward to another delicious meal! read more

The drinks and atmosphere here are acceptable. Some days it is packed; other times it is completely empty. The food menu needs work both in terms of selections and competitive pricing. For example, there is a pretzel on the bar menu but no salad. A dinner salad is $16 compared to $8 elsewhere. Some of the entrees are served with a handful of potato chips vs. fries at better restaurants. You can get fries for $9 but who would? There is a dinner soup for $18 but no cup of soup at more competitive cost. I like the place but the food side needs help. read more

I hosted a dinner for my wife's 65th birthday on 12/23/23. The event was amazing. This restaurant is a gem at the jersey shore. The space was amazing as it was all decked out for Christmas.
