Meh! Music was so loud couldn't talk with my family. I go to concerts for loud music not food. Children running around screaming at the top of their lungs nobody attempting to control them. I appreciate a family oriented atmosphere but it doesn't relieve the parents of their responsibility to others, and teaching their children respect for others space. tl;dr -- make sure you are getting charged the right amount for all of your orders and DEFINITELY ask for clarification when they ask what sides you'd like -- because they'll charge you more while presenting it as an option. Everybody loves (and should love) an outdoor beergarden with occasional live music, good sports, and a wide selection of drinks and menu items for all...BUT this is one of those microcosm places for the downfall of restaurant dining in the modern age: 1) The beer selection is ungodly expensive. $8 for a can of beer? Woof. Bonus points, however, given for Eagles games prices and the addition of some Stables-specific beers (pale ale and another). 2) You really have to review your check. Recently had an experience where my son ordered a burger from the kids menu, then asks him, "For you side, do you want chips or fries?" He answers fries. A few moments later, there's a plate with the burger and chips along with a side plate of fries. I highlight that he asked for fries and they still brought chips and if that's an issue. Server shares that the kitchen likes to still give out chips even if the side is changed since the chips are specially made (and tasty!). The sad part: the server never says that selecting fries is an upcharge. There's nothing on the menu that says fries are an upcharge. But when my son answers the question "would you like chips or fries?" it is assumed that means it's a selection at the same price. It's not. One more thing: they charged more money for a local beer than what was listed. Wish I would've got a picture of the outside. It was beautiful very busy for Saturday. Lots of picnic tables. We sat at the bar for about four hours and had fried pickles and fried cauliflower with the Dragon of the West sauce that they make in house, sweet and spice like a Asian bbq almost; the cauliflower. We also split a street corn pizza with chorizo a complete knock out and highly recommended by the staff to add chorizo. Bursted with fresh Latin flavor, it had semolina on the bottom of the crust, but still light and chewy. I will be dreaming about this pizza!! The Smashburger with fries were good, we both thought it was more of a regular burger than a smash burger but still great quality and flavor. Very happy this location re-opened in time for summer. While it's no longer affiliated with Levante, it's more or less the same spot, with many of the same staff members, and new food offerings ranging from tenders and wings to pizzas, hotdogs and burgers. The ambiance is great for a spring or summer putting, and the location is kid friendly. The hotdogs are huge (think kielbasa sized) and tasty, and the fries are delicious. The salads are basically bagged lettuce in a bowl. I'd say $9 is definitely on the high end for what it is. The food and drinks are good, but probably priced about 30% higher than they should be. You're basically paying for the ambiance - which is not to say it isn't worth if you're in the right mood. A solid recommendation for open-air group outings. read more

We were here several times last summer. It started out being so much fun but the last time we were, there was the last time we were there... Lol. It's become families with small children place to go for a night out. Kids were unattended, playing all the games so no adults could throw cornhole and basically cut loose by the parents. There is a small area that's really shaded tucked in a corner where children are not permitted. I think that should be switched. We want to be out where we can hear the band, be around other people, but just not have children running around our tables We are empty nesting so it's just not our thing. This is a difficult review to write because the business doesn't quite seem to know what it wants to be. They approach some things like, "hey, we're a beer garden" and others like, "we're a restaurant", but the overlap is really clunky. For instance, we sit down and the waitress asks if we'll be drinking. We say not beer, just soda and water. Her response was "I just need a credit card to get your tab started." For a soda and water? Weird. So basically we just paid for a meal we haven't even gotten yet? That one approach - used on everyone who came in - was oddly off putting. If we're not drinking, calling it a 'tab' makes no sense. So you're left with a trust issue. Don't you trust us to pay our bill? Do people dine and dash on the regular? If so - why? Is the service terrible? The food? It was a bad first impression. Then we order an appetizer and sandwiches for lunch. 23 minutes later, everything comes at once. I hate it when a restaurant has a section called "appetizers", which by definition come before the entree...and then they bring everything at once. It's too much and not how it should be done. And they aren't inexpensive so you kind of expect a certain level of service. And that's when we realized the kitchen is in a separate building from the bar and main restaurant space and the 'beer garden' is the space in between. The server did a really good job for the most part; and I say that because they seemed to be short staffed and she was running all over doing her best to keep things together, but left big gaps in between seeing her. And the young woman who was wearing a plastic poncho and running the food from the kitchen to all points worked her backside off. And must've been hot as Hades. We had a burger and the fried chicken sandwich - both were really good and would recommend you try it. But we were up charged for fries which came out overcooked (mahagony brown) and 90% of them were like an inch to an inch and a half long. So it was good food, but overall a really odd experience. The negatives were the children running and screaming and throwing things despite sitting in the adult only area. Parents were allowing their children to misbehave the entire time we were there. The wait staff expressed their frustration as well. The kids were out of control. The wait staff had no ability to address the situation. The parents were rude and inconsiderate to the other guests and wait staff. Awful! After an upsetting experience here as a parent, and sending 2 emails to this restaurant that were ignored, I went to send a third email today that immediately bounced back. Not sure if they blocked me? As a mother to 3 young children, I was very upset of our experience and then to be totally ignored by ownership with no apology is maddening. However, it was quite upsetting and very unprofessional that the music that was playing (loudly) all through the entire outside of the restaurant was very angry, intense and with explicit language. My young children were with us. In a restaurant/ family oriented public setting, it was completely inappropriate to hear. These are some of the lyrics from just the one song that I was appalled to hear and it was NOT bleeped out. Our food was never delivered though we stayed 2 hours. A restaurant that fails to feed it's customers seriously should not exist if just by definition. Chicken skewers were pretty flavorless and dried out, Shoshito peppers were OK, but a little flavorless as well. Pizzas were also good, but too heavy on the cheese, which drowns out all the good flavor the toppings should bring. Only three stars because of two things: the price, and the shrieking and disruptive room full of kids. There was some sort of party for adults, and they all brought their three and four-year-olds - and then promptly decided to let them do whatever they wanted. The kids easily outnumbered the parents., very tough to enjoy ourselves with this circus. I don't know what the owner can do about this, but ironically we were warned by two separate friends of the little kid running wild thing, and it was mentioned in a couple of yelp reviews. Lovely ambiance and great service. Unfortunately the food needs a lot of work. The pizza was the best item we had and if we go back- that is what we would order again. Here are a few of the items that need work... Cheese fries were soggy and the "cheese substance" needs to be changed. Wings were too chewy and the sauces/rubs were nothing to write home about (or Yelp about ;) Kids cheese burgers were really over cooked and welllll even the kids would not eat them. Deviled eggs- ahhhh the new item EVERY restaurant in this area is adding to their menu...???? Almost everyone at the table tasted them and we gave them a big 3/10. It is one of those items- if your gonna put it on the menu- They better be darn good!! Better than mama's good! Pretzel was big and pretty tasty. Drinks were a bit too pricey. All in all, I will be back once they give they work on the menu. So glad this space is in use again! Great ambiance despite having Route 100 right alongside the outdoor seating area. Seated and served quickly for lunch on a Sunday. Lots of space outside (didn't check out their indoor seating but that's available too). Nice menu of cocktails, wine & beer. First time here. Not what I expected. Food was pretty good, I had the fried chicken cuban sandwich and shared a pretzel. Beer was slightly overpriced compared to other similar establishments. Was a hot weekend day, so we opted to sit inside in one of the back rooms. Before we knew it the room was flooded with kids. I observed as one of the mothers made the staff put together 4 tables so their unscheduled party of 18 could be accommodated inside and away from the rain. Just as they were finished setting the tables up the rain stopped and they opted to relocate to the "Adults only" section along with their party of 8 children. Not sure why they have an adults only section if they aren't managing it. Staff was mostly younger, so that probably had something to do with it. Would like to return and give another shot at a later date to hopefully enjoy a beer free of screaming toddlers. read more

The good: the drinks, the settings. The area needs a beer garden, and this place fills the niche. Service was good, everybody is friendly. The bad: the food is a travesty. I'm surprised by the positive reviews of the food here. I've been multiple times with friends and ordered something different every time in the hopes to find a main that's good. Maybe I've had bad luck, or maybe it's because I've only gone at lunchtime and things are different for dinner. As a specific example, I got the Hawaiian burger: the bun was completely wet with pineapple juice to the point of falling apart, and burger was chewy, and on top of that it somehow had absolutely zero flavor! I have to give only one star despite the good aspects because as long as you're going to call yourself a restaurant, you have to have food that's okay at worst, and The Stables doesn't even meet that bar.
