HMMMM, WOW, DELICIOUS! I'm from LA, visit Palm Springs often, and was raised on home cooked Mexican food. Put simply, this is as good and fresh as it gets. Ok I will say the flavor of my Carne Asada taco was good but it was so fatty I could not even eat it. My corn tortilla was hard and fell apart when it tried to fold it. My husband had a chicken Colorado special there was nothing even remotely good about the Colorado sauce Sorry oregon I don't think you know what good Mexican food is. read more

My boyfriend and I both ordered the Carne Asada burrito, the flavor was awesome! The size was big and filling but not insanely large. The meat itself was kind of chewy. They don't wrap the burrito how you would expect so it quickly falls apart and becomes a yummy mess of food. Would recommend and will come again! read more

Clean friendly and simple place. Food was ok but nothing outstanding or particularly "Mexican". It tasted good but nothing I couldn't have made myself. Just popped in for a snack, but I was pleasantly surprised. A little spendy for a taco shop, but the carne Asada was great. My little one devoured a bean and cheese burrito. Salsa is juicy and fresh, green sauce was the tastiest I've ever had with the roasted tomatillo flavor that you only get with fresh homemade salsa verde. They salt their chips like they should, rice and beans are yummy. Meat is generous in the taco, I had the carne asada. read more

The food is quite reasonable and very good. The menu items are typical but the flavor is not. Fast food atmosphere but much better than fast food. Been going here for years when I visit each summer for two/three weeks. The locals always know the good spots and helped us find this one. I love the recession tacos and just about everything I've ever tried here. It's a quick lunch/diner atmosphere not a sit down restaurant (in fact we usually order to go and eat back at our house rental) but there are several tables inside and out. We like the tacos. I think we usually have the carne and it comes with a yummy sauce on the meat -- more of a beef chili colorado flavor than carne. Whatever it is, it's tasty. And Raiders fans run the place. It's more of a stand than a restaurant, so you don't get chips and salsa, and you shouldn't expect to be waited on. Super delicious and every bit as good as they make in California at authentic taco shops where we normally eat. My husband and I eat Mexican food every day since he's Mexican. This place was just what we were looking for. I grew up in the area but moved away and remember it being on avenue U so its important to note the new location closer to Broadway..... I guess so tourists can walk over or working locals can have an awesome lunch. I had the half and half which is a veggie burrito soooo good I ate it two days in a row. Steak on the tacos is excellent! My toddler ate every bite. Super friendly nice lady at the counter and lots of seating and outdoor seating too. read more

I don't understand the hype whatsoever. The waiter was spun. They don't take cards so cash or check. The pinto beans were canned. The rice tasted like the 1$ packets of Spanish rice from the grocers. And the carne asada was not asada. It was steak cut into small pieces. The salsa was equivalent to what my white 80 year old grandma would make if she made it and the chips and salsa should have been free with a meal and eating there but was 4 something. read more

I never understood why, but all my friends rave about this place and some of them go weekly. I've only eaten their tacos a few times (and their rice) and I'm not impressed at all. I think the quality of their meat isn't that good or maybe it's the way they cook it, idk. It was like dry and hard. Their rice was dry too. I Have lived in San Diego for 15 years and eat Mexican at least once a week. This may be the best Mexican food I have ever had!
