After arriving at my hotel at 4:00am (delayed flight, ugh), breakfast here was just what the doctor ordered. I'd made a 10:00am reservation but it definitely wasn't necessary as I was one of three parties there. Maybe it was because everyone was sleeping in after Halloween? Anyway, I heard the restaurant before I even saw it. The upbeat music pumping into the street elevated my mood and their decor outside set the tone. The decor is eclectic without being overwhelming. I was between the tostada and brisket Benedict, but they were out of the tostada so that made my decision easier! My food arrived quickly. I was hoping to get a latte or cappuccino but they only had coffee. It wasn't a problem because the coffee was good. My breakfast was also fantastic. I sat and savored it all without feeling in a rush because, well, I basically had the place to myself!

Just stopped by for some drinks with friends. I always thought the outside was super cute but had never been inside. Right now they have an additional tent up for the winter. Drinks here were ok and thought it was pretty "standard" lol. We ended up ordering the wings and they were good but nothing too special. I would come back again for a chill night.

A good date night stop off, The Standard has a great unique little vibe. There are lawn games galore in the outdoor area, and the inside matched the fun and laid back atmosphere with a lot of quant decor dedicated to the old auto body shop that it once was. The service was friendly and laid back, with a friendly demeanor throughout. My only feedback would be that we were the only ones there and did have to wait a bit to get our check but otherwise it was great. The mixed drinks were fantastic, well balanced and smooth! The food was delicious, albeit a bit small portions for the prices. We ordered the crab dip and Korean beef sandwich, both of which were pretty solid overall.

The food looked and teasted delicious! Music was a bit quiet, but the old gas station turmed restaurant has nice decorations all over the place.

Great lunch in Covington on Friday fast service & food served hot from the kitchen. Delicious seasoned fries & sauce. Good sandwich but was a lot to eat. What a creative reuse of old service station into bar/restaurant in Covington

I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was here. We got burgers and they were both great. I loved the seasoned fries - very crispy and came out hot. The concept of the place is cool - it's in an old garage/tire shop. They gave both indoor and outdoor seating, with lots of fun lawn games outside to play. Service was great. Can't wait to go back!

I've had some great evenings at The Standard involving dancing and Bourbon slushes and I'm looking forward to more of those. What I'm here to report now is that The Standard has one of the best happy hours going. It runs from 4-6 weeknights and ALL DAY Thursday. All the drinks but two are $5 and all the snacks are half off. I had a delicious Blackberry Mule and my husband ordered the Standard Old Fashioned. I totally recommend the Bourbon Slush, too, but a freshly made batch wasn't yet fully ready when we arrived. We each had an order of sliders (the three sliders easily equal a full-size burger and they are GOOD!) from the snacks menu and split very generous orders of fries and onion rings between us. Made for a fun and reasonable night out. Bonus -- doggies are welcome outside.

This was absolutely the tale of Jekyll and Hyde, but Jecyll kicked so much ass that I really don't care that Hyde wasn't very good. So the bad: I had the deviled eggs with Grippos potato chips crumbled over it, and they were not very good. The mix for the filling was just not a good one and clashed badly with the chips. I also had the chili. It too was not very good. It was almost as if it were trying to be sweet, chili and it absolutely shouldn't have been because it was a waste of decent shredded beef that was actually pretty tasty and very tender. Finally, I had the old fashioned, and it was just not good. They used a good base bourbon (not a rye) that should have been perfect for a sweeter old fashioned, but the bitters and sugary elements together just didn't work. Now for the good: The burger was AMAZING. It is a simple double smash burger with American cheese and thousand island dressing, but it was easily the closest thing to an In 'n Out burger this side of the east cost. It was perfect in every way. And like In 'n Out, I would go there just to order the burger (or two) and just forgoe everything else on the menu. I can say that I will absolutely be back again just to get another burger, even if I get nothing else with it. And I can also say that I would highly recommend the burger to anyone else without hesitation.

Conner was excellent and the food was GREAT! Highly recommend a visit to The Standard!!!

We will definitely be back. Went on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The wait staff was super friendly and the food was truly outstanding and well-portioned. Really cool spot with games and an awesome, unique vibe.

The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

We began with a dirty chai latte, aromatic and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a touch more sweetness. The dirty French, customized gluten free, was rich, decadent and deeply satisfying. It felt indulgent in the best way and showcased the kitchen's ability to balance comfort with culinary intention. To go, we ordered the crunchy chicken nuggets, fries and lemon ricotta pancakes. The fries were outstanding, perfectly crisp and addictive. My husband loved the pancakes, light and flavorful with a bright citrus note. The gluten free nuggets were enjoyable, though they did not quite reach the level I expected compared to the rest of the menu. If you prefer a quieter setting, then eating in the bar is your best bet because the dining rooms do get loud. We started with the east/west coast oysters and they were so fresh. The passion fruit mignonette was the perfect compliment. I kept scooping out tiny spoonfuls and drinking it after we finished the oysters. The Fluke Crudo was fantastic. The combo of flavors and textures was a delight for the palate. The scallops over the miso leek risotto was one of the best scallop dishes we have ever eaten. The scallops were huge and cooked perfectly and there were plenty of pieces of leek in a lovely, smooth risotto. We're not a fan of hijiki, so the chef prepared the risotto without it - Thanks Chef Jose! And you would think chicken schnitzel would be basic, but not this dish. The chicken was so moist, perfectly seasoned, and pan fried in butter. We asked for the sauce on the side because we knew we wouldn't finish the big piece and wanted to heat it up later and still be crispy (which we did). We were amazed that eating the chicken, almond, asparagus, and some sauce in one bite, was SO good. The best two meals we have had in Cincinnati so far in 2026 have been here, and Mita's. Walking in a bit awkward. One door is locked and the other is open. One has to guess correctly. The entrance is a little cramped. Goto the left for the bar or the right for the dining room. I've always enjoyed the open kitchen; the focus, hustle, and discipline is admirable and fun to watch. Decor is modern. Feels upscale. One can make this a casual date or dress it up for a bigger night out. All of our wait staff have been polite and are good at timing visits. The food offered here and all of Salazar's restaurants is excellent. Most recently, we enjoyed the lobster rolls, fried oysters sandwich, fries, steak, and scallops. Two desserts were taken to go. Each dish, no matter how advanced or simple, presented with elegance, perfect spice and texture, and spot on internal temps. Certainly it's the excellent cooking that justifies the $300 check that chased this outstanding experience. Everything I've mentioned is positive. Where do the two stars come from? Well in our last visit, we took dessert to go. We utilized valet that Salazars/Mitas contracts. It took forty minutes for our car to get to us. Forty. Minutes. We got ice cream as a part of a dessert to go. While one could argue we are taking a risk, and I agree, we actually had a cooler in the back of the car that was ice cold from earlier in the day. Thusly we felt we were taking a calculated risk. We get our car, see the ice cream is melted, and I go back. I explain the situation to the hostesses. The GM shows up and I provide a gentle explanation. Following this I say I'd like to the replace the included ice cream but end up ordering a couple other flavors. I get cashed out - no apology for the under performing valet, no offer to cover the melted scoop, just take my money and move forward. I understand that nothing is owed to me. I understand that restaurants aren't successful by giving out hand outs. My frustration comes with the lack of recognition of arguably restaurant error, the fact that loyalty means nothing, and that spending nearly $300 (or how much four visits cost in less than a year), including a kitchen tip, wasnt enough.
