Gotta update my review because I've been coming in pretty regularly now for trivia night on Thursdays and been having a great time. JH has a great space, with bar as well as table and couch/lounge seating inside as well as more lounge seating outside, and they have food trucks I think every day if not just about every day. They have a huge selection of drinks on tap, as well as some wine/champagne and THC infused drinks. The folks behinds the bar are super friendly and fun people to chat with, too! Parking is a bit limited, but it's a great experience. read more

I've passed this former gas station turned craft bottle shop many times and have only recently started stopping in. They've got a nice covered area out front and a cozy space inside with tv to watch sports, beers in bottles and cans to pick from and 32 taps, even a pick drinker will have no trouble finding something delicious to drink here. We've been welcomed in the few times we stopped by the owner and staff, all have been very friendly, they've got plenty of seat at the bar, other high tops and even a few couches to relax in and watch a game. They don't serve food, but they allow outside food and seem to often have food trucks on site as well. On two visits the owner has had his dog there, and other visits other guests have as well. Definitely a spot I'll be returning to again soon, and suggest anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing place to meet up and hang out in should check it out as well read more

This place is AWESOME! It feels like an upscale dive with a vibey ambiance and friendly locals. The bartender, Steve, was an absolute GEM! Plus, there were SO MANY good drinks to try from IPAs and ales to sours, ciders, smoothies, and more! We're excited to listen to some live music and sing some karaoke next time. As Juggheads enters a new era with ownership changing very recently. (I have been a loyal "Jugg Head" since its inception 10 years ago). We've passed by this little gem multiple times and finally decided to give it a try! Location/parking: It is a great location right off of country club road with more parking than I realized. It is across from the foodlion shopping center and close to Dukes. Hard to miss. Vibe/drinks: We really wanted a casual spot to socialize our dog and enjoy a beer. We ended up getting a better experience than we hoped. They had close to 30 beers on tap and their whole focus is breweries from NC. What a great way to try all of NC in one place! We ended up doing a couple of flights and ending with half pints of our favorites. I enjoyed the current pumpkin and oktoberfest. My hubs ended up enjoying a nice IPA.(I forgot the name) The owners dog hangs out there and loves to make sure everyone is welcome as they come in. I think my fellow dog lovers will appreciate that they have a fenced in yard in the back with a water bowl and pet waste station. Customer service: This reminds me of all the reasons I missed Winston after I moved and why we are back. It is very family friendly and welcoming. The owner took pride in explaining the selection and seemed happy to help. They have food trucks Wednesday-Sat. We enjoyed some birdfries chicken/waffle on our visit. Juggheads is a store. That sells beer. That by itself makes it pretty good, but there is more. They have a covered outside seating area with heaters and benches and nice people (and dogs). The beer selection is pretty good and varied. Lots of interesting stuff and the staff has always been friendly to me... so you know. No beatings. One might think that all the previous is enough, and really, it is.... but to top it all off, they sometimes have food trucks. If not there is plenty of food close by. It's a great place for a birthday party if you don't want to invite people over to cough on your door handles. Let them cough on the door handles at Juggheads! read more

Overall we were very happy with our first visit to JH! We were a little scared as it is an obviously converted gas station but it really is charming! Plenty of out door seating plus they are puppy friendly! The inside is very reminiscence of Old Winston Social Club- board games and cards galore to play with friends old and new. Lots of table seating and comfy couches. Plenty of bar seats too! They really do have an amazing concept "if it's not from NC we don't sell it". So that's 32 NC craft drafts plus bottles! Their updated beer list is on their website. Generous flights are a steal at $5 so you are sure to find a new favorite or two!!! Cool and local! You can bring your own growler to fill or purchase there. They also sell can Kooozies, shirts, cups and the like so you you can rep Jugg Heads wherever you go! No food but they do sell some NC snacks like Chads Popcorn. They also have food trucks several times a week so check out their Facebook page for what's coming. We really had a fun afternoon and had some fun new beers- I recommend for the NC craft beer lover and if you don't like beer they also have wine but I just bet you will find something you like! Not gonna lie, was a little skeptical of this place when my friend told me it used to by a gas station but it is so cool! I love that they often have food trucks and even a mobile groomer sometimes in the parking lot. Now to get to the beer, this place has the absolute best selection of NC beer in Winston definitely but also possibly in the whole triad. If there's something new and cool you want, chances are they have it. You can go in and grab a pint or bring in a growler and get it filled. The prices are super reasonable and the staff there is very knowledgeable about all things beer and they are so friendly! I think most people who go there are regulars and I'm in a few times a month and they treat me the same! Love it and will be back many many times to come. read more

Swung in here on a whim because it looked like a drive through and I wondered if I could get drive through beer. Unfortunately you cannot but it was still a great visit! They have a ton of taps around 20-25, a lot of local breweries including some of my favorites from Charlotte. The bartender is very knowledgeable and will help you pick out the best beer for your tastebuds if you are feeling overwhelmed. They're super nice about letting you sample some if you're unsure of what you want. There are plenty of picnic tables outside to enjoy some nice weather and a cozy couch + board games to enjoy on a rainy day. I got a crowler of beer to go, it's $5 down payment for the crowler/growler (same price for both) which is returned when you bring it back. A crowler of a hazy IPA ran us $16ish with tax which ends up being pretty affordable at $5 a beer. I will definitely be back! read more

Went to check out Jugg Heads after living close by since their opening. Super cool joint! They have a type of beer for everyone, lots of local brews as well. They have bottles, cans, and drafts. We went on a Saturday night for a Duke v. Carolina game so it was quite crowded. We ordered from Honeysuckle Food Truck and sat outside for a bit because there was no open tables inside. There was a heater in the outside area so it wasn't too bad, but we went inside once a table was available. The decor is definitely unique and vintage, they even have some school desks as seating... but it's convenient to hold a food truck snack and a brew! Service was quick and polite. Jugg Heads is close to my house and I always see so many people there. They have a nice outside seating area to go outside and enjoy your beer or you can stay inside at the bar or many tables spread out. There are board games to play, tv's to watch and an old school video game table. They have rotating beers from all over North Carolina. I think every time I've gone, there has been a new menu. There are also pitchers to order, mix and match take home 6 packs and several individual bottles. They also serve wine, and as I learned this past weekend, have cans of soda hidden away. Almost every night, they have a food truck to go along with your adult beverages. I like to go when they have Full Moon Oyster Bar catering. I'm a huge fan of them so when they do an oyster roast near my house, I try to attend. read more

Jugg Heads is an awesome concept, but from my experience the service was terrible. Jugg Heads has a huge selection of beers on tap, and the great thing is that they offer only NC beers. I'm all about drinking local and I think it is incredible to have so many selections from the Old North State. You are able to sample any of their beers and can grab a pint of anything to drink on site as well. They fill both 32 ounce and 64 ounce growlers, and are willing to fill up growlers from other locations as well. The atmosphere is cool. This is an old gas station and they have kept the general structure of the building. They still have the overhang that covered the tanks, which is nice on rainy days. They have picnic tables and corn hole outside. On the inside, they have a couple of T.V.'s, some leather couches, tables, a nice bar area, and foosball. I've only been once, but the service on this occasion was terrible. It was a Thursday evening and they were fairly busy, so I took this into account. When I asked to sample a beer I was given attitude. I was given attitude when I took more than 30 seconds to decide what I wanted. I was given attitude when I asked about the beer. Basically I was just given attitude the whole time. After finishing off my beer, it took about 25 mins for the bartender to even look my direction for another round. When I asked if they filled growlers, he simply said yes and didn't ask if I wanted one filled before walking off. Another bartender showed up and spent the whole time talking to his friends while ignoring other patrons. After finally getting the attention of a bartender to close out, I was rudely told that I had to close out at the other end of the bar. As I was closing out there were a couple options for tip. The lowest of which was 25%. How about no? I had to go in and do a custom tip. I still left one for some reason, but it was barely over 10%. I might go back to Jugg Heads because again I think this concept is a great addition to the Winston beer scene. Unfortunately, the staff is just plain rude and did not make us feel welcome at all. We are literally here once a week and the whole staff is PHENOMENAL!! I cannot speak enough for the hospitality this small bar has to offer! We absolutely love to come and enjoy the food trucks and how AWESOME that they even let dogs come in and I love the games they have to offer like life size jenga! Walked over to Jugg Heads after a meal at Little Richards BBQ. They had a food truck out front which seems to be a regular thing. Great idea and the pizzas they were serving looked/smelled real good. I dig the interior. Nice mix of soft seating and a fair-sized bar. Games to play. The service was fine. It seemed like there were some regulars who got a lot of extra attention (which is to be expected). Nice selection of beers on tap for pints of growlers and some cool merchandise for sale along the back wall. I could see myself returning as Jugg Heads is the closest watering hole to my house. On the outside, it looks like just a converted gas station (which it is), but the inside has been made into a nice place to spend time with friends over a pint. They have gluten-free options on tap (mostly cider) as well as in bottle (Omission, Wicked Weed gluten-freek); they also have wine for purchase. Their focus is on NC beers, and I appreciate the value of keeping it local. I was pleasantly surprised to see the nice selection of board games and seating options. Coming from San Diego, I'm a big believer in drinking local. San Diegans are so fiercely loyal to their local county brews that those that dare to sell out to the man are quickly shunned in favor of indie beers. On a recent visit to Winston Salem, it was good to see the spirit is alive and well in the Piedmont Triad. Juggheads takes pride in only offering North Carolina beers. Their wall of taps is impressive on its own, but they also have a robust bottle shop selection, as well as a curated collection of refrigerated bottles ready for consumption on premises. Located in a converted gas station, Juggheads offered a. Large outdoor seating area to go along with several couches and high tops to make your binge drinking more comfortable. While I was disappointed not to see some well known breweries like NoDa on tap, I also have no idea what kind of distribution they are offering outside of Charlotte. I had a great "double session IPA" that was double hopped but still had a sensible 4.9% ABv by Unknown Brewing. So good in fact that I took a growler of it home with me. For future trips to Winston, a visit (or many visits) to Juggheads is now mandatory. Not to mention that it's virtually next door to Little Richard's BBQ. read more

I had a great first visit to Jugheads. I love the atmosphere especially since I currently can't drink. We're able to bring our dog and she had a fabulous time as well. My husband and I played some games and talked to several people. He tried a beer from Black Mountain and really enjoyed it. They have a great deal on make your own six packs so we will probably get that in the future as well as filling up our growler. One of the couples we were talking to mentioned you can have a flight of beer for $4 which is awesome. I did enjoy dessert from the food truck that was there. One bonus is they have covered parking so on rainy nights you will not get wet. read more

A chalkboard wall displays over 30 types of local and not-so-local taps beside a fridge full of bottles and cans adding even more to their already amazing list to choose from. Upon pulling up to this place is it obviously and old gas station which I thought was cool because the awning turned the normal outdoor seating into a covered patio. Upon walking in this place I immediately regretted by decision. There were dogs inside (which I'm sometimes fine with) but although it was a nice day there were no window (or even a door) open. This place is gross. Everything seems dirty, everything is dark, and even the bartender was sweaty and disheveled. I mustered up the courage to order a flight even though I though the place was gross because they did have a huge beer selection. The flight was served to me in CLEAR PLASTIC SOLO CUPS like I was at a frat party. We went outside to avoid the dogs (I'm allergic) and everyone was smoking. GROSS. We half drank some beers and got the heck out. I will definitely NOT be back unless this place is seriously renovated. read more

Hubs and I came out for an early date night. We each got a pint...mine was delicious, hubs' was "interesting"...not bad, just different. The bar staff was very attentive and friendly. People were chatty (loudly!) and eager to visit. We had hoped to sit outside which was very cozy and cool looking (and the weather was gorgeous), but it seemed everyone out there was smoking (including cigars)...honestly a huge downer for me as I'm horribly deterred from anything smokey, but we still had a great time.
