I pulled up to The Taco Bar recently for the first time. This is the perfect spot where you could catch up with a friend or casually grab a bite/drink. Especially when the weather is nice. There's indoor and outdoor seating available. I started with the tostones and guacamole and empanadas. I've had tostones plenty of times but never with guac and it was pretty good. Thin Tostones paired with fresh guacamole. Then I had the cheeseburger and oxtail empanadas. They fry them fresh and the fillings were tasty but small in size. Sadly they sold out of the elote. For the mains I got the jerk chicken taco, salmon taco, oxtail tacos, jerk chicken burrito, and Mexican burger. My guy tried the salmon taco and I had the jerk chicken. That was a bit spicy. The oxtail tacos were juicy with a crispy tortilla and decent amount of oxtail. I seen a jerk chicken burrito on the menu so I had to check it out. It's packed and that jerk chicken was spicy how I like it. You can even order it as a bowl. The Mexican burger is your classic thick burger but they spice it up with guacamole, pica de gallo, and sauce to give it a Mexican twist. Shout out to Amare and Bairam. They were very helpful. Came for taco Tuesday. Place is small but nice with outdoor seating. There was taco and margaritas special which wasn't bad for the price. Came with one margarita and three tacos you can mix and match. Tacos were okay, shrimp were my favorite between the chicken or shrimp taco. Service wasn't bad while seating at the bar. Came here on the night before moving out of the neighborhood. Had passed it numerous times, promising to stop in someday. That Friday night made someday today! Already a couple drinks in but mostly hungry, our intention was just to eat. But the place was pretty full, so we ended up sitting at the end of the bar. Our bartender, called Pop, but I forgot his real name, immediately cleaned our area with disinfectant and welcomed us warmly. This brother was in constant motion and none of it wasted. He took our orders and definitely took good care of us after hearing we were celebrating moving into a new place. We made a point to find out when he works there, and we will be returning on any Friday or Sunday that he's there. We ordered Crispy Wings, Steak Frites and the rum punch cocktail. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. Pop was so smooth with his flow that we ordered more drinks than we planned just because the vibes were so immaculate! We were dragging ass moving the next day We enjoyed our last night in the neighborhood so much we vowed to come back. Very cozy, cool place that's a real hidden gem. read more

I was here on 8/26/2025 for Taco Tuesday. I was seated right away but it took a little while for my order to be taken. Once they got to me I ordered a few tacos (fish, shrimp, surf and turf, and a steak taco). The surf and turf taco was absolutely delicious so I can see why it's not apart of the Taco Tuesday special (3 tacos with a Margarita for $20). I had a Passion Fruit Margarita as my drink and it was good. I ended up getting plantain with Guacamole but the plantain was too salty. My nail tech is actually close by to this location so I will be back here in the future for more tacos, wings, and Margaritas. read more

I came here with a few friends to have a drink for happy hour and i wasn't disappointed. They have a great happy hour menu that goes from 4-7. $10 drinks and $10 bites. The food options were pretty solid. I ordered the lemon pepper wings (ate those before i took pics), and they were really good. Super crispy. They came with a side of ranch, and maybe 6 wings. We also ordered the calamari which to me was soooo much better than the wings. Idk. It was seasoned so well, and it wasn't rubbery, oily, or anything. It was pretty good. The drinks were also super good. I had a lemon drop, which was made to perfection. For $10 a drink, i had 3 of them lol. The drink was super cute too. Nice glass with a dried lemon for the win. I ordered tacos to go. I ordered 2 carnitas, 1 salmon and 1 oxtail taco. The carnitas wasn't what i expected. It was good, just a little more seasoned than I'm used to. I ordered the other tacos for my boyfriend and he tore them up. I'll definitely be back. It's a cute spot, it's kinda small but enough tables for a nice vibe. The music was good. We wanted to be supportive of local businesses so we went to do the ayce drink and eat tacos. Overall food started off good and decent, could have been 3 star,but after things that have happened I unfortunately cannot in good conscience recommend this place. Overall it started decent and very normal. You are only allowed to order 2 tacos at a time and there are few specific drinks. This was all reasonable. The ayce eat is time limited and you are limited to the number of tacos you can order at a time we were sitting and waiting most of the time. The tacos were actually pretty good and very flavorful and we enjoyed the first few. The drinks were okay and made with cheapest tequila which is fine since it's all you can drink. However things started to feel off and we noticed the tacos got saltier and each round. By the time we got to our 8th taco, it was unmistakable. Still we wanted to give benefit of the doubt and support a local owned business. However that all went out the door at the end. I asked for an another drink and the guy said our time was up. I said that wasn't possible and we should have another 15 minutes. He said he would go check for me. He left and then came back telling me "he got me". When we paid for the bill we were not shown a receipt, only amount. After we paid we were able to pull the receipt from the app and we were able to see he charged me full price for the drink. This was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. He did not communicate that he would have to charge the drink. Instead he led me to believe it was covered. Deceptive and unacceptable service. If communication was don't properly I would have just said it's fine. There was barely anyone here on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. The only table was what look like a setup for photos by some guy who probably is the owner who's just posting photos and having friends vote this place up. I cannot in good consciousness recommend this place. It could have decent food but management is shady. They prioritize kicking everyone out and just looking like a cool place to visit. I feel a bit uncomfortable posting this but I wish was able to see an honest review before visiting. You have been warned. Expensive and disappointing. read more

I made a reservation, and when we arrived we were immediately told that no one had checked the reservation list, so there wasn't a table available for us. We understood that mistakes happen and were happy to wait. There were empty tables outside, but they were wet from the rain. We even offered to wipe one down ourselves so we could be seated, but the server insisted she'd dry and clean it for us. We then stood there waiting for about 20 minutes, and she never came back. Eventually, we saw another table open up inside and just seated ourselves. From there, the experience only got worse. It took about 20 minutes for anyone to come take our order, then another 20 minutes just to bring our drinks. Our food took over 40 minutes to arrive, and somehow our appetizer came out after our entrées. Oh and the calamari had more tentacles than squid, sauce was great tho, and the fajitas were great. The biggest issue wasn't even the wait times it was the complete lack of hospitality. We never received utensils or napkins, so our food sat there getting cold while we waited. No one checked on us, no one asked if we needed anything, and no one acknowledged or apologized for the delays. The restaurant wasn't even particularly busy there were probably fewer than 30 people there. My friend ordered a second drink that took over 15 minutes. The drink never came and , we had already finished eating and were ready to leave and paid (she drops off the toast and walks away) . I had to get up myself to ask for the drink, have it put into a to-go cup, and even hand the server the toast she'd left sitting on our table before she walked away. I completely understand that restaurants can get backed up, and I don't mind waiting when there's communication and good hospitality. A simple apology or a quick check-in would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, we received neither. To top it all off, a mandatory 20% gratuity was added to the bill. I normally tip above the automatic gratuity because I genuinely appreciate good service, (and this is all coming from a server's standpoint) , but this experience didn't come close to reflecting the level of service that a 20% gratuity should represent. I came here with some co workers and then again on a solo date and the food was great each time. Service: 4/5 staff are very friendly and kind. Bartenders are pretty quick with drinks. Pretty attentive and make you feel welcomed. Ambiance: 3.5/5 Very bright inside, cool artwork. Ample seating kinda spacious and cozy, tv's and good music selection. They have a Live Dj on Certain nights. The weekends are nice never to over crowded. A cool spot to hang out with friends, family , significant other and just Chill. I like the vibe there. I do wish the heat was a bit better in this frigid weather but overall great spot. Food: 3.8/5 Food is really good!! Flavorful and well made I just wish the portions sizes were better for the price. Yeah I just wouldn't come here. No one here is unkind, but the service is just all over the place and very disorganized. The biggest thing is the food just isn't good if i'm being honest. I got chips and salsa and the chicharrones and plantains, the plantains were actually pretty good and tasty, but the salsa was so sweet and almost had the flavor and consistency more like ketchup; I usually try to finish food but I had to throw it out. And I've had the margaritas before; they're very strong so great if that's what you're looking for, but taste like straight tequila so therefore isn't very tasty at all. The ambiance of this place is more a place to get drinks and get somewhat litty, but if you want a nice place to eat out or have a cute time with friends or care about what you're eating, you're better off elsewhere. read more

I tried a fried chicken taco. It was over fried you mainly tasted batter. The cheeseburger taco was dry even though it had a sauce on it. The house margarita tasted kinda like frozen dish water. The Taco Bar was very convenient for a good Taco Tuesday and 18 mins from the house. I found this place on TikTok and once again, I decided to check it out . I was craving tacos on a Tuesday. I was impressed by the set up . Cute and authentic bar set up. The service had to grow on me but the food can be lengthy but order chips and guacamole with a margarita while you wait on the main course and you will be just fine (that's what I did) . And then I waited on two surf and turf tacos ($2/12)with rice and beans however there are specials from 5pm -7pm . I missed it ‍ but my food and two margaritas hit the spot . New margarita bar in Bed Stuy, various different margaritas options on the menu from frozen, spicy, and ones in the rocks. I had a couple margaritas and both were great! This place is mainly a bar but also features small bites. The tacos are preferred to the nachos. Was expecting a larger portion so the toppings kind of dominated the chips which too me is a positive but might not be for everybody. As the place is new they are still working on some things. This place is not good. Food wasn't tasty the birria tacos with consome was the smallest sauce full of oil and fat. A cosome is supposed to be like a stew. They also have cheese in them which is not listed in the menu. I had to pick the melted cheese off. Birria tacos are not traditionally served with cheese in them. Overall I rate them a 0 because it was $20 for bad tacos, bad rice and beans in Bed-Stuy. The place was totally empty and the employees were surprised to even see people there. Which was weird because it took a while before the bartender even saw me. Definitely not going back. I'm tired of bad restaurants opening up and not even serving their community. Food was amazing. I recommend the strawberry frozen margarita as well as the jerk chicken nachos with everything on it. This is my second time there but this time I decided to get tacos and I think I got the pork and I don't remember but they both was delicious. If I could leave zero stars I would. after placing a $65 order (2 orders of corn, two pork tacos, a shrimp taco, shrimp burrito and wings) on their actual website I received a call from someone who was obviously working remotely and not at the restaurant, verifying my order. literally read my order back to me TWICE to "verify." I confirmed the order and asked if I should pick up my order at the time in my confirmation email or should I arrive later, I was assured to pick up in 20 mins. I got there in 25 mins and when I asked for my order the staff seemed lost. I also noticed that whoever I spoke to on the phone was not in the restaurant, first red flag. "my order" comes about 15 mins after I get there and I take it and leave. I get home only to realize that the order is not mine. at this point I'm aggravated but really hungry so I call to see if the restaurant can now deliver the correct order. I was repeatedly told no because they needed the order that I had, another red flag because what are you going to do with a compromisedorder?? Anyway I get back to the restaurant and realize that these idiots never even received my order. I had to wait an additional 30 mins to get the food and notice they didn't honor any of the order notes! Lol this whole experience sucked and id never go back or reccomend. They offered no resolution other than a drink on the house which I declined. The food was also very subpar. I'm not sure whose idea it is for a restaurant owner to be working remotely from a restaurant that takes both live in person orders as well as online orders. Please do better. read more
