[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is quite pleasing, it was not loud and Kelly came over soon after being seated to see about drinks and apps.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you want a thoughtful, friendly server Kelly is the one! We ordered the cornbread skillet first. Mmmmm mmm. Warm in a skillet and served with whipped honey butter, could it get any better? Well....maybe. Because the beef tips were so incredible. Melt in your mouth! One of our party likes cuts of meat on the pink side, the other prefers more well done cuts. Off Kelly went with our plates, returning having divided them into two and having the beef done perfectly for both of us. Get some extra BBQ sauce/gravy with it. Perfection. Mashed potatoes were also quite good. We were stuffed. I would go back in a heartbeat. Yum. Had three good experiences at Austin's during a recent business trip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has plenty of seating, a really nice patio, and attentive staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On my first visit, I ordered the tri-tip. While it was good overall, it could use a few tweaks--the meat seemed a bit under-seasoned, and the presentation wasn't particularly appealing. That said, it was perfectly acceptable and hit the spot. My next two visits were at the bar, where both bartenders were friendly, attentive, and clearly knew their craft. Based on those experiences, I'd definitely return if I were in the area and would recommend others give it a try as well. read more

We were staying nearby this restaurant so decided to walk over and try it. We were treated and said there would be a 10 minute wait, but more like 5. Jordan was our server and she was excellent. Didn't rush us, answered our numerous questions and checked back on us every so often. I had an Old Fashion and it was excellent. Not a complaint but should have had one large ice cube vs. small ones. My husband had one of their IPAs on tap. I had the chicken pot pit, salad and corn bread. This place is a case of fancy plating but nothing to taste. Came here for steak, got the NY strip with mashed potatoes, coconut shrimp and wings appetizers, and I don't have much to say about any of it... looked nice, I like the touch of crispy onions on the steak, but I was unloading most of the salt shaker on top of my food for any seasoning. The mash was bland, the steak was bland, the coconut strip felt like an air fryer meal, and the wings were just decent. Austin's remains a go to lunch spot with our local friends. I can see why they have a solid lineup of good American food in a convenient location. There is a wide assortment of sandwiches and entrees and sure to be something that will please even your most finicky eaters. The flavored ice teas were interesting -- basically tea with some fruit syrup added. Sandwiches and burgers seem to be the crowd favorite. BBQ chicken sandwich came in a large portion. The side, coleslaw with cranberries and apples was a favorite. Service was helpful and prompt. I'm not a stickler for service. Servers are generally some of the hardest workers, but the service at Austins was odd. It was lackadaisical and not punctual on a not so busy Saturday night. I ordered French Onion soup. It was brought out Uber quickly, before I received my water. I wonder if I got someone else's soup? It was tiny and likely satisfied by daily intake of salt for the next week. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the salmon. Austins American Grill is a nonnegotiable for us when we're visiting Fort Collins. The Fat Tire Beer Cheese Soups is one of the most comforting dishes of all time for me and keeps me coming back. They serve it with popcorn on the side for you to drop into your soup and it is such a fun and salty addition to an already delightful soup. Service is always wonderful and the ambiance is very comfortable. In the summer the patio is lovely and the location is hard to beat, being right in Old Town. Austins seems like one of those places that feels right whether it's just a weeknight dinner out or a special occasion. Great atmosphere and service with seating at tables, booths, or the bar. Menu offers quintessential steakhouse fare front steaks, chicken, burgers, ribs, and fish right down to classic cocktails like a frosty Blue Goose martini made with Grey Goose and blue cheese stuffed olives. The most unique aspect of the menu is the presence of bison options. I think this was my first time having a bison steak, and if it wasn't it was certainly the most memorable. Perfect cooked med rare, full of flavor, very lean with no fattiness. Other highlights include the chicken tortilla soup, spicy queso, and the croissant bread pudding for dessert. I wrote in a while back to complain that our $80 meal was awful, the chicken haystack sandwich made of low quality meat remnants, the salad little more than ice berg lettuce with a big greasy chunk of "corn bread" on top, and the fried crab avocado a bland mushy mess. Literally the only thing that was "good" were the fries, which are hard to fuck up. Anyways I was pleased when Jenn reached out in hopes of making it right, thought maybe I could get a refund or something but this corporate robot offered us... a gift card. For Austin's. I explained I had no interest in returning and don't even live there so that wouldnt work and she offered me... another gift card. To another establishment she's affiliated with, that I ALSO don't live in the same state as and have no interest visiting. She was unwilling to offer a check and I get that, hardly anyone even has them anymore but for real lady; venmo? cash app? SOMEthing. Come up with something. Instead, she just stipped replying. Austin's American Grill is a more upscale restaurant for a good American meal. Just a note, there are two locations in Fort Collins. One in Old Town and the other being here on Harmony Road. I prefer this one because parking is easier and more accessible. There are a plethora of seating options for any occasion. First dates, meetings, celebrations, you name it, they have the perfect spot waiting for you. Our waitress was kind and helpful when it came to a booth that didn't work for us. She gladly moved us to a table without us having to ask, as she could see that it was uncomfortable for us. As for food, I was feeling something on the healthier side and you can never go wrong with a cobb salad. Loved the presentation and the portion was filling and just what I was looking for. Corn bread croutons? Yeah, they were pretty cool and complimented the meal well. The cornbread itself was fantastic! Everyone else enjoyed their meals and cleaned their plates. I'm always a fan of a place that has more expensive options, but also offers cheaper options for those who can't afford the heftier prices. Good lookin' out! Had a birthday party here recently and the whole thing was a disaster. Starting with the waitress she sat us in designated seats so she could remember our orders which didn't work out we still had to point out everyone's order. Then I ordered a simple cup of soup which was forgot. When I asked about it she lied and said it was in a window which took another 10 minutes to get. Food was mediocre at best. This place is pretty nice! They have indoor and outdoor seating. It has a mix between an upscale aesthetic and a pub vibe. The service was attentive and the timing of the food was perfect. Overall I would recommend trying them out. We started with two drinks. One blueberry lemonade drink and one strawberry mojito mojito. The mojito was definitely better as the blueberry drink was a bit sweet and artificial tasting. The mojito was just right and I would definitely get it again. We also had the green chili corn bread (not pictured) which was good and served in a cute little cast iron. The steak was very good, the crispy onions were a nice crunch, and it paired very well with the flavorful garlic mashed potatoes. The seasonal veggies were great and seasoned very well. Brother had prime rib where as he had to add salt and pepper for flavor. Even had to add flavor to the au jus. No horseradish. Brother had to ask for this. No bread or rolls were offered at dinner. Very hit or miss. Came here twice in two weeks for work functions and got a full rack of ribs with a side of quinoa and rice palif both times. First time it was amazing-- meat was falling off the bone, absolutely delicious. I was honestly shocked at how good it was. Second time was the complete opposite. The drinks were delivered to our table in the bar and food was delivered to our table on the patio. Once our food was delivered, no one really paid attention to us. The bartender stopped by once during the hour that we were there to check and see if we needed anything else. It wasn't really a problem for us, but I could see where it might become one if someone had wanted additional refreshments for dessert or...Whatever. Fortunately, we didn't.
