Came here after my daughter took the SATs in Arlington. The California Hash Brown Plate is probably one of my favorite brunch foods I've ever had in a restaurant. We got a side of french toast with it and came back another whole portion for someone's lunch tomorrow. My daughter said she might signup to take another SAT in Arlington just so we could come and eat here together again. Service was friendly and food came out really fast. They estimated wait when I called in at 10:50 a.m. on a Saturday was 1 to 1.5 hours, but we were seated in 40 minutes because we were willing to eat at the counter. read more

This is the classic case of the local diner that became such a favorite that now it's got a rep well outside of town. For all the years that I've been wanting to try it, I didn't finally make it in until yesterday. It definitely lived up to the hype. They have coffee mugs and t-shirts and stuff you can buy; not quite a gift shop, but a little shelf with tchotchkes. Those mugs are tempting. Maybe next time. Arlington is definitely a small town in feel as well as in size. Kids were getting tractor rides down main street in the afternoon when we pulled in, and there was some sort of festival happening with families everywhere. Tons of friendly faces. By some great good fortune, we scored parking right in front of the Stilly. Businesses are all packed in along the main drag, so, when you add a community festival, parking is a luckier score than you might think in a town this size. It was 2:30, so they were half an hour from closing up shop for the day, but still absolutely packed. The place is two rooms--one side with booths and a counter, one side with booths and tables. We got a table within minutes, and before you knew it we had breakfast and lunch menus, along with silverware and, just like that, cold iced tea, too. Good flavor to the tea, though I couldn't say for sure if it was steeped from loose tea. The menus offer tons of options, pretty much all diner classics--omelets, eggs and bacon, the usual sandwiches and so on. Everything looked and smelled good going out to other tables. Lots of happy families, friend groups, and couples packing in the booths and tables. Its not cramped in here but they make the most of the space and it has a nice hustle and bustle. The kids waiting tables are always scooting around. We got a pancake plate and a california hash brown plate. The portions are humongous! We could easily have split one plate of food and still not finished. As it was, I got just the pancakes and a piece of sausage, and she had the server leave out the pancake and egg with her plate. Neither of us got even halfway through our meals, and the server said she personally could never finish a full order, and always got a half. Now we now they have half orders! I love it. The food was good, but not only was it way too much, I had eaten at home too late to have much appetite. I felt kinda bad not finishing, but the pancakes seemed scratch-made, and the blueberries had plenty of flavor. The maple syrup came out heated, and the hot-sugar plume was overwhelming, but it tasted good on the cakes and it was fine as long as I set it across the table. The decor here bears mentioning. It's the usual bygone Americana--Elvis, James Dean, Bogey, Marilyn. They do have a cartoon print of Jules and Vincent from Pulp Fiction as chimpanzees pointing bananas at someone. I don't think I'd bring Samuel L Jackson to this place as long as that's on the wall...I know it's "supposed to be funny," but showing him as a monkey is tasteless at best (and ignorant, or worse, depending on who sees it and how they react). That's just a detail, though, and hopefully something they put up without thinking about it. I can't wait to come back and check out the menu again when I have more appetite intact. read more

Our regular weekend brunch spot since it's opening (we followed Matt, the original owner, from Bluebird... sorry bluebird - gotta go where the great cooks do!). Everything on the menu is delicious, you can order breakfast anytime, the specials are always awesome and definitely special! This is the only place I've ever loved corned beef hash because they use real beef not canned dog food looking "stuff"; I order it with a poached egg and hollandaise on top, with a fluffy, syrupy pancake on the side ... YUM! We see the same happy faces here all the time, our kids have grown with our favourite servers kids so it's fun to share family updates. It's just a good family atmosphere with amazingly great diner food. We also love classic movies so the decor is awesome, we even got a (smaller) creature from the black lagoon just like theirs bc our son always wanted us to lift him up to see it when he was a toddler (and now he loves that film!) If there's a list when you show up remember that's a good thing, it's worth the short wait! read more

We stumbled upon this great brunch spot on our way back from a camping trip in North Bend, WA. We were a group of 7 and were promptly seated. The place is huge and they have a variety of brunch options. Our group ordered almost everything on the menu - Belgian Banana and Macadamia Pancake with coconut syrup (special for the day and it was really good), hash browns (delicious), The Pile (loved it), Eggs Benedict Florentine (tasty), Cornbread pancakes with butter pecan and orange butter and fresh fruits (great) and do not forget to order their mimosa with their home made fresh passion fruit juice (we ordered I think 3 of these - wish they had bottomless mimosas ;) ) The service was excellent. Considering it was a huge order, the server confirmed the order and kept us posted of any ingredients unavailable in the kitchen (in case of substitutions upfront). Food was out the kitchen in no time in spite of it being house full at that hour. The portions at this place are HUGE so you better be hungry cos you will leave this place overstuffed for sure. So so good! Crew and I were famished after touring the tulips out in Skagit county so we found this charming little place in Arlington. The whole town is a quaint, lovely place, couldn't ask for a better setting. Anywho, we had a couple of breakfast entres and their handmade cinnamon roll (which is just "muah" chef's kiss). A small town diner that dishes out food as amazing as their service. I love old school American diners and have had the Still Diner on my list to try since I first heard about it and wow, wish I had visited sooner. The diner is well known and if you want to dine inside, show up early. We got there at around 9:45 Sunday morning and had a 20min wait thankfully, but soon afterwards the wait list extended to 1.5hrs. It is well worth the wait but if you can't, take out is available too. I usually start discussing the food but the service deserves the center stage. In a time when so many places are experiencing attrition and employees are inexperienced or stressed, it was so refreshing to experience just good friendly service. Everyone was so pleasant, helpful, and efficient. My coffee cup never was empty, dishes were cleared quickly, and when I asked for something I didn't have to wait forever to get it. As for the food, it was as amazing as I had hoped; good home-town cooking that will warm your belly and your heart. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I loved the corned beef hash and can't pass up those cinnamon rolls (but bring a friend or two to help with those). I've now been here what... five times? and this place NEVER disappoints. My BFF and I come here at least once every time we spend time at our cabin on one of the nearby lakes. The service is always super friendly and the best table in the house is actually the one outside on good weather days. The crowning glory, however, is the food... I generally go for their scrambles... SO GOOD! but their pancakes are also so fluffy & yummy. One of these days I'll try their cornmeal pancakes but it's hard for me to branch out when I love the stuff I've already tried. Oh... and their coffee is great too! This was our second time visiting The Stilly Diner and just like the last time, they did not disappoint. Service-- it is a seat yourself type place and there is a sign up sheet outside if all tables are occupied. Staff is always friendly and attentive, in my experience. Ambiance-- there's a vintage-type vibe, which I find endearing. Lots of cool artwork, but not too much space to play around with. The layout is a little weird with the kitchen in between 2 rooms. Food-- HUGE portions, but so so good. This time around, I got the California hashbrown plate with eggs over easy and a pancake, and my husband got the cornbread pancakes with butter pecan syrup and bacon with eggs over easy. We could not finish our food. We ended up eating maybe 1/4 of everything and took the rest home. The California hashbrown plate was soooo good! Everything you could ever need on 1 plate! My husband & I came in as a recommendation from a local FB page, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is very old school diner, cute decor. We walked in a bit before closing on a Saturday and got sat right away. The cornbread pancakes are quite literally the best pancakes I've ever had!!! My husband is a big breakfast burrito guy. Apparently they recently took theirs off the menu or moved it around and we couldn't find it, but our sweet waitress (I wish I caught her name because she was so great) was more than happy to have the kitchen make his breakfast burrito dreams come true, and he said it was outstanding. I couldn't even sneak a bite in to try it for myself. I got their California Stack...? Or something like that. Great atmosphere; happy families, no screaming kids (probably because we left all 4 of ours at home like the amazing parents we are lolol) The dine was clean, ample seating. The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day in Washington state! I ordered Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream; husband ordered the max, loaded hash browns. The reason why I'm only giving 4 stars is because we saw a strand of hair on his plate; not on the food but on the plate. But we don't like to be that person, although we had every right but hey, the food was still good, service was great, everything came out in a timely manner! We would come back. They told us it would be a twenty minute wait, so we wandered over to the neighboring store, and they texted us our table was ready; it was less than ten minutes! The place has a cheerful, kind of old-school retro diner vibe, while still being clean and fresh. Our server was super friendly, fast, and efficient, and was patient with us when we needed several more minutes to peruse the menu. We did not feel rushed! The food came out quickly, and portions were kind of enormous, so if that's your thing, this is your place. My wife and I stopped into Stilly for breakfast during the week. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. I was a bit surprised at how busy Stilly was on a weekday morning. Upon entrance one signs there-selves in on the clipboard next to the door. Staff members utilize the clipboard list to seat their patrons who are patiently waiting. Tabs can be settled either at the table or the front register. We chose to settle our tab at the table since the entrance area is congested. Beer, wine and mimosas can be ordered to enjoy with ones' meal. On our visit, my wife and I both opted for water. My wife chose Biscuits & Gravy #18 for $9.50 +$0.50 up-charge for cheese on her egg. One split biscuit smothered in sausage gravy, two sausage links and one egg. My wife was thrilled with her breakfast choice. I ordered the California Eggs Benedict for $12.50: English muffin topped with sliced tomato, avocado, bacon, two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and green onion. I chose the country fried potatoes as my side. The hollandaise sauce was on the lukewarm side; however, my meal was still tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Driving back home from camping we found ourselves in Arlington at late lunch time. After a quick review of dining options on Yelp we decide for this place, highly rated, comfort food, etc. As soon as I step in I already like it. It looks like one of the classic diners from the 50s/60s that I saw in American movies when I was a kid. We're quickly seated and served water, very kind and efficient service. The menu confirms the first impression, classic diner with all the classic American foods, eggs and bacon, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, French toasts, etc. I go for a double bacon cheeseburger with an egg a la carte (i.e. no side), my wife gets fish and chips. The food arrives pretty quickly and it's delicious, serving size is humongous, especially the fish and chips. It can feed a family... in fact, it looks appropriate for the size of the people seated at the tables, they're all huge... anyway, wife can't finish her plate, but she enjoys the food. Ordered to go, went in and paid the gal goes to hand me the bag of food over the register, and it doesn't reach me, it drops, falls to the floor. I was told after some scurrying around we have to remake it. I said okay no problem. She then says she's going to give me a discount. (In my opinion if you drop food and have to remake it and tell the customer "I will give you a discount' is a little tacky) I said okay. Personally I think the right thing to do would have been refunded me, be a little more apologetic and comp the food. I been getting takeout for years there, not anymore. To make matters worse the eggs on both meals were runny so we heated both meals up. Not good, small portion, runny eggs and we both got very ill that evening. Food poising is no joke. Needless to say we will no longer get takeout food there and the way they handled it was p-poor. "F" for failure on that whole experience. So many breakfast and lunch options for the gluten-free diner. We had a Ruben with a huge mound of tater tots. Sandwich was great (even without rye bread). Not sure if they have a dedicated fryer for the tots to reduce cross contamination. They were very tasty in any case (I hope my body does not revolt later today). I want to preface by saying that I usually don't like places that serve breakfast. However, driving through this small town made me intrigued to try a diner. Sitting inside this run down, dirty town up north is this cute little diner that truly delivered the 4-5 star quality that Yelp says. Usually I feel like breakfast food is always bland and I can usually whip up a better breakfast meal for myself, but this place makes their food with love and I enjoyed it a lot! The hash browns were so good I got some to-go! The service was great! They were nice and I wasn't interrupted while eating which is a plus.
