Tried the Stoneyard north of Appleton for the first time. Service was extremely slow even though bar/ restaurant were not very busy at all. Food arrived luke warm and neither my chicken sandwich nor my wife's burger were anything special. Total bill over $50. We will not be returning and do not recommend this establishment to others. read more

This place seems to be a "go to" spot for coworkers and generally I can see why. A table of 12 during happy hour with 2 rounds of drinks and food came in well under $300 which is surprisingly affordable! A miss on the appetizer platter (their mozzarella cheese sticks are wrapped in an outer flour shell which tasted weird) but their food overall was pretty tasty - many raved about the cranberry chicken wrap, their pizza is thin crust and generously topped, the potato crisps and onion dip is fantastic. I do wish their high-top tables would have better chairs that have back support. They're not conducive for sitting long periods of time. I would suggest better training for servers. For example, we asked our server about a couple of drinks. She said she didn't know several times and didn't offer to go back to the bar to get answers, which was disappointing. read more

I've been going to The Stoneyard for years but hadn't been back in a while and I was pleasantly surprised with great service, delicious food and great experiences within the last couple of weeks. Delicious Bloody Mary's, yummy chips and vidalia dip, and some pretty great salads, too! Definitely adding this back into our rotation! read more

Look, I am not at all hard to please but tonight's service definitely warrants a terrible review. We (a group of 4) arrived to the establishment, in three groups. When the first two arrived (7:00pm) they ordered drinks and appetizers, then the third person showed up (7:15) and I arrived 10 minutes later. When I arrived the server came over with a question about a drink order. My friend explained how to make the drink as requested (she only wanted one shot of Absolute and the rest water, in a tall glass) the server was just so rude to her about having the specifics about wanting "absolute" (health reasons its the only vodka she can tolerate) after that got squared away, the server looked at me very annoyed and literally said "what do you want?" It took me so off Guard that I laughed and looked around the table at my friends wondering what was going on. I gave her my order of an amaretto sour and she just walked away. Came back, left the drink. I stirred it.. there was hardly an ounce of amaretto in it, it was the color of watered down lemonade. I drank it. I ordered another and asked if she could make sure amaretto was put in it as it didn't taste like any in there. She rolled her eyes at me and went to get it. Same thing. Watered down lemonade, hardly any amaretto. The server ended up leaving and we were helped the rest of the night by another server. When questioned about the drink, if I wanted another, I explained why I was hesitant to order one. She informed me that It was ordered by the server to the bar as "amaretto old-fashioned" Idk what that is and what the difference is... but either way it was not right. And its missing the key component... AMARETTO! She brought me out another one, this one was only slightly better. So I gave up. When I got the bill. The bill was written as follows: "2- Amaretto old fashioned $11.00 Of SOUR $1.00 1- amaretto sour $5.50 Total $17.50" So not only did I get three crappy sour soda drinks with next to no amaretto, I was charged extra for sour. Awesome. Again, i'm not hard to please, I'm usually pretty understanding... but extremely rude service and weak drinks have me never coming back ....and opening my yelp for nearly the first time in a couple years to write this review. read more

Close to home so might be biased. Happy hour during the week with half priced drinks. Many craft beers on tap which is enjoyed. Food it typical bar fare. Wings are good with a variety of choices. They are also discounted Monday-Tuesday. There is also a fish fry of haddock, perch, shrimp or walleye. Comes with choice of fried potato or potato salad. We really want to like it here because it is so close to home, but, we had yet another bad experience. Ordered food for pick up over the phone and they said it would be 35 minutes. Got there and it wasn't ready. No big deal...but, people came in after me, sat down and ordered and got their food before mine was ready. When I asked about it, the bartender was rude and said it wasn't ready, without even checking on if. Waited a bit longer and finally got our food and brought it home. Fish was over done and rubbery. The drinks are watered down. I actually brought a glass up for a refill and they never dumped out the left over ice and water in the glass and made the drink on top of it. I heard The Stone Yard is owned by the same folks that own The Bar...don't know if this is accurate or not. I've come here several times as it is very close to my in-laws place. My last visit was for a birthday party. Even though we had 9 people and showed up on a busy Sunday they accommodated us immediately. The birthday boy got to drink free since it was his actually day which is pretty fun! We ordered a variety of entrees and I have to say the perch sandwich was amazing. My husband has been raving about The Bar's perch sandwich for a year so when I found out this place was under the same ownership I had to try it out. It did not disappoint and I would highly recommend. Others at the table got wings, burgers, and pizza. The only problem was the pizza crust was burnt but we didn't say anything. The service was prompt and friendly, the drinks were cold, and the food delicious. If you haven't made the drive to check this place out you should put it on your "to-do" list. read more

The Stoneyard is this little sports bar just off of JJ. Probably not a bar that you would randomly drive by. Even though my coworkers and I invaded this bar on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty consistent with people coming in and out, so the locals do know about it. I was pretty impressed with their local craft beer selection. A couple of them I've only seen at one or two other places in the Green Bay area. They only had a few craft beers on tap as the other taps were domestics and the larger "micro brews". The one thing that bugged me was the service. It overall felt a little consistent. I could tell who knows what's going on and who's not the sharpest tool in the shed. That can happen anywhere. The busier they have gotten the lower the quality of their food has become. Had their clam chowder last night and it was so salty as to be uneatable. Won't be back. The Stone Yard has a sports bar kind of feel to it. They have a good size menu and can tell it is a meeting place for a lot of people on the north-side of Appleton. I have been there a few times before with a friend and we order the stone yard pizza, and we have always been pleased with it. But the time I went with my other friend to try our standard pizza it didn't go as well. When we ordered the pizza the waitress suggested we order the stone yard pizza and just subtract and substitute items, which I thought she was trying to save us some money but really just confused and annoyed my friend. Why she just didn't take our order and if the waitress knew a cheaper way to ring the bill up then do it that way. Our standard pizza was good, but not the same. So I would recommend the stone yard pizza but it failed with our standard pizza toppings. Plus we got booted from our table cause a poker game was coming in and they wanted the table.
