FYI: It is a private club, with membership at a $1 a year. As my wife and I drank a cold beer (this place is still cash only), an elderly gentleman politely walked up and asked if we were waiting on the band. As it was later in the afternoon and the band would not be starting for a number of hours, we explained that we were just coming back in for some nostalgia. Talk about nostalgia, we found out that the gentleman was Richard who was and is the owner of the place for many, many years. The number of times he said I do like to dance and would start moving quite well to the soul/ Hip Hop mix (which is unusual to be heard in the Sand Dollar). When I polightly asked his age, Richard said that he was 81. He stated that he had kept in shape over the years including by Iron Man triathlons. To see his thin body it was difficult to think of him as a triathlete but I did not ask him how long ago he had done a triathlon. Meeting Richard and buying a $15 t-shirt was quite a great experience. I always will return here. Trust me on that.

I've been up there three times in the last month to meet them on a Sunday for Bob's Birthday. A Friday for Happy Hour. And a Saturday for Emily's surprise 50th. Each time the staff has been great and a great time was had by all. The bar sits about 10 then there is 5-6 large tables and a back room for the pool players.
