Family trip to Masthope and spent one day at the pool. The Tiki Bar was so nice and had a vast array of beverages, appetizers, salads, wraps, meals, and kids meals. Lots of chicken tenders & fries, wings, shrimp cocktail and Shirley Temples. My sister in law ordered the Tiki Summer Salad which was delicious, and I got the Fish Tacos, which are a nice beer Battered Cod with Tropical Mago Salsa, Chili Garlic Aioli, Shredded Romaine, and Grilled Flour Tortillas. The tacos hit the spot and the margaritas complimented the lunch well. Later in the day we ordered a Chardonnay. Overall we were very pleased with our visit and look forward to going back. To start, the food was great, there was no problem with that. I got the bourbon cheesesteak and it was delicious. Our server was the issue. Her name was Alyssa I believe and we saw her like two or three times the whole time we were there to eat. She took our drink orders, brought them and then disappeared for like 20 minutes, didn't even ask if we were ready to order or if we needed anything within that time. Then she came back to take our food orders, and that was the last time we saw her until we were done with our food and she drive-by style asked how our food was. Then brought our checks another 10-15 minutes after seeing we finished our food. I finally get the check and see on the bill that she charged me for swapping fries for onion rings; even though when I asked her if it would be extra to swap them, she told me no. When I asked her about it she was pretty rude and defensive saying she never recalled saying there was no extra charge even though the whole table did in fact hear her say it wouldn't be extra. Then she walked away with the checks and didn't take the extra charge off the bill. Her not coming to the table throughout the meal, fine, I'll find someone else and ask them for what I need, but the fact that she was rude about the miscommunication and then didn't even offer to take the charge off the bill ON TOP of that is what really made me mad. read more

Okay food, but good for what's available in the area. My family rented an AirBnb for a weekend in Lackawaxen, and while we saw a lot of good spots in the area for breakfast and lunch, options for dinner seem slim. We loved how extensive and affordable the menu is. Lots of different kinds of dishes = great for big groups. Very spacious, which I appreciate living in Boston where seating in most restaurants are very limited, and wait times can easily be 2+ hours. Staff here are also friendly. We weren't super impressed with the food (some dishes were way to salty, others were way too bland), but we were just happy to have a dinner option that tailored to the different tastes of my family. read more

Food was ok, service was good, it was very loud in the dining area as it is right next to the bar and people were quite loud. I had the turkey dinner and the turkey gravy was so salty I had to scrape it off. The rest of the meal was nice, and the Moscow mule was good. Just watch the salt level if you order gravy. read more

Ordered takeout. Had difficulty getting into the actual restaurant because there are cones blocking everything. I was supposed to get a text when the food was ready, but never received it. Went to pick up the food and the hostess seemed confused about me wanting to pay for the food. She put the food down on a table and then walked away. I had to call her back to ask how I pay. It was with her but she acted like it was annoying for me to ask. Next time I'll just walk out. Haha. Pizza was okay (only place open near us on a Monday). Wings (medium) were pretty decent. I'd order again but maybe try to pay over the phone next time (they hung up before I could this time). read more

They have a chef who has culinary training. The meals taste like everything is prepared with perfect seasoning and it's all fresh. You get good service with very polite waiters. I have never had a bad meal here. You can see they are on top of things here which is nice. The people here are well trained and its very smooth. I always ho there when I want a nice dinner experience that is special. If you want casual and fun, then you can go to the Tiki Bar outside. They make Margharita pizzas fresh and they are delicious. Or you can order from their menu. You cam eat outside because they have a tables with umbrellas that are nice. They are new and not old. So it's really a nice family atmosphere because it's right next to the pool. It's very summery and a vacation type ambiance. read more

We ate here our first night of our stay-- chicken with jammer topper and my husbands maple glaze pork chop special were amazing. Specials were to start Friday for the week. We all had a great meal. There were some changes to the menu and I couldn't decide what I wanted. The salads all sounded delicious but I decided on the avocado appetizer since I never had cooked avocado before. It was delicious! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and I would highly recommend it. The nachos were plenty. The burger and wings perfect! The service was great! Very friendly. The portions of sweet potato fries have also gotten larger. Finally, their new chicken tacos are the best I've ever had. Ordered them twice over a two day period! Old review: I've been coming to the Summit for a few years now. The food is generally pretty good, but I found some things really disappointing: - their portions of speciality fries are tiny. I'm not interested in paying an addition $2.99 to get 7 sweet potato fries with my burger - their mixed drinks are expensive and contain almost no alcohol Some of the waiters can be super rude, too. The food is good. We started with a cheese quesadilla, which was okay. It was cooked perfectly but it lacked flavor, maybe b/c there wasn't a lot of filling. I would have preferred housemade salsa, but it's not a Mexican restaurant. Yo quiero Taco Bell - no, no, it's not *that* bad. I had a BLT, which was quite tasty, but there was slightly too much bread for the amount of BLT on the inside. But the ingredients were fantastic. The fries were good. My one friend had a bowl of chili. It was housemade and tasted fine. My other friend had penne pasta alfredo. It was good. The service was good. The view is amazing! Was it a memorable meal? Not really. Will we be back? Almost certainly, since it's the only restaurant in the community! read more

Very average or somewhat worse. Pleasant staff who put up with 4 children from 2-11. Crab cakes lousy. Rib roast barely rare with odd taste (frozen?). Fish and chips was best. Not too expensive so consider it just one very average meal out of our lives. read more

Rude, rude, rude. My sister, her boyfriend, and my brother-in-law, who is an owner at Masthope, were waiting for a table in the bar while the rest of us were coming into the restaurant. Bil was told, by the manager, that he had to order food to use a hightop in the bar, no problem, so they were going to order nachos but no waitress ever showed up to take a food order. When we had all arrived, I inquired about a waitress to take our order. The hostess with the short dark hair and glasses, came over with a mega attitude, saying that you have to be seated by the hostess to use the table and order food. Well, my brother in law explains that he was told that he just needed to order food to use the table, she got an attitude with him instead of explaining the misunderstanding. She got very rude and asked us where our menus were and when we tried to explain what we were told by the manager, she got very indignant and told us she would not serve us. My sister went and tried to speak with her, but she was also rude to her, complaining that people have been giving her an attitude. Not our problem. She walked away and then my sister spoke to the manager who the seated us. We have also had problems recently as last night making to-go orders, being rudely told that the order would take a long time and actively trying to dissuade us from ordering. Bartenders and servers are excellent, hardworking, nice, and attentive. But the hostess is RUDE RUDE RUDE. There are many other excellent restaurants in the area who actually appreciate their customers. read more

This was my 1st time here and the food was ok! The waiter didn't bring one of my friends there food. The music was low we couldn't hear it. They had bingo going on next to the dinning room. My Margarita was watered down and nasty. Over all experience wasn't good! read more

What a pleasant surprise. Went with friends and was our first time back in a few years. Service and food were excellent. The special appetizers were quite good and the Tuna in a corn crisp was a delight. Now that Joseph G is back the restaurant will hopefully continue to stay as a place to return to.
