Cute ice cream shop with a great selection of gelato. They also have an espresso bar if you are in the mood for a coffee. Lady working the counter is very sweet and accommodating. We tried Oreo milk shake and affogato. Both were very yummy! Unfortunately, at the end of our visit, my kids accidentally spilled a drink, creating quite a mess. There was no blame or shame, only understanding that things happen. We appreciate your patience and will be back! Many thanks for a yummy afternoon treat!

    Strawberry matcha
    Monica H.

Stopped by after dinner at dough zone earlier tonight, and thought the strawberry matcha looked amazing from the picture on the menu. However, the drink that i received was extremely disappointing. It had zero matcha flavor, and it really just tasted like sickly sweet strawberry milk. I am a huge fan of matcha, but paying $10.48 for one drink just to receive this(if you look at the picture, the drink was not even green at all after i mixed in the small amount of liquid matcha that was on top) felt like robbery. I've never tried their gelato before so maybe their gelato is better, but DO NOT GET THE MATCHA FROM HERE!! It was the first time that i've had to throw a drink out.

Nocciola (hazelnut) gelato - my fav!
    Ang S.

I can't get enough of the hazelnut (Nocciola) gelato! It's my favorite and such a treat to just stop by to get a scoop after a long, hard day.

Ferrero Bon Bon R is so good here! They have good service here too!

I've been here more than once and not been disappointed! I'm pretty picky with Gelato, but I've liked this place enough to return. Dough Zone next store is also SO good and not too pricey..I was surprised at how good it is considering that Dumpling Hours is lame af and expensive. I'm a total food snob and they are worth visiting as well.

    Coffee gelato & bubble waffle

Who doesn't love a bubble waffle AND gelato?? We last min were looking for a dessert place and found Annie's Ice Cream and we're so glad we did. The place is small but that's okay because we didn't plan on eating in anyway plus there's plenty of nice areas in downtown to walk around to/sit and eat ice cream. Service was great! Bubble waffles are made to order and we were still in and out of there in 10mins. I better not see anyone write a bad review about the waffle taking long to make because it's actually not that long of a wait and you're just impatient. I had the coffee gelato & my bf had mint chip & we both loved it! Clearly in the photo I couldn't wait lol.

I was excited to check out Annie's--Walnut Creek has several ice cream spots, but to my knowledge, this is the only dedicated gelato place in town. I'm always happy to have another option, and the location is super convenient, right downtown next to the South Locust parking garage (first hour free!). The space inside is bright and cheerful, with a few tables for enjoying your treat on-site. That said, the first thing I noticed was that there seemed to be more photos on the walls than flavors in the front case. I sampled five flavors, including pistachio and Ferrero Rocher, which are among their most popular. The gelato was good--but not amazing. I've had better, and while I know gelato is different from ice cream, I'd still place it in the same treat category. It just didn't quite stand out for me. One small detail that caught my eye: they charge $0.50 for small cookie garnishes, which felt a little odd. It's the kind of thing I'd expect to be included or left out altogether--it didn't really add much. I ended up ordering the Ferrero Rocher and Stracciatella, and while both were enjoyable, they weren't particularly memorable. That said, service was quick and friendly, and it's nice to have a gelato spot that's a little off the beaten path from the busier ice cream shops. If you're curious or just want something different, it's worth checking out at least once. Personally, I still prefer Lottie's overall, but Annie's is a welcome addition to the downtown dessert scene.

    Tiramisu on waffle cone

I'm not even mad about a few chunks of ice in my hazelnut gelato. I'm so happy that there is finally a place with mint without any chips or anything else in there... mint that actually tastes like mint, no other fillers. I know I'm in the minority here, but it's been such a struggle to find plain mint ice cream / gelato, etc. (don't tell me to go to CS cause can't really taste their mint). Only issue I have with the mint gelato is the color lol. Anyways, cute lil spot between dough zone and sweet green. Nice ice cream cone colorful decor on the side too. Decor of its history and some flavors inside. We were offered samples. Great customer service. My daughter wasn't feeling well, but was well enough to enjoy a tiramisu gelato on a waffle cone. She said it all tastes great. The husband wanted the mixed berry, so we decided to get a medium so we can get 3 flavors. I was so excited for plain mint, and my usual gelato flavor I get is hazelnut so I got mint and hazelnut. Hazelnut had great flavor, but there were some chunks of ice in there that took away from the smoothness. Still really good though. The mint was really smooth and tastes good. Mmmm! Why does it need to be that kind of neon green though... oh well lol. The mixed berry was a sorbet and was great as well. Not too sweet. There were some seeds and such, which means it was so fresh! Yum, makes me want to try their strawberry and other flavors. Definitely going back to try their ferrero, strawberry, and so many more... and of course some plain mint!

What a lovely addition to Walnut Creek! Warning: the flavors in the tubs are less than the flavors on the wall, so order from the tub signs not the wall photos. The servings are large, and you can get two flavors. We all enjoyed our cups and cones. We even got to say Hi to Annie! Highly recommended.

New gelato restaurant in Walnut Creek?! Yes! We saw the sign, and we needed to walk in. I'm glad that we did because right after we ordered, the line behind us was long. As you walk in, there are cute pink and green tables and chairs. There are gelato photos on the wall, but they aren't necessarily what is available for purchase today. After dinner, my son ordered a wild berry sorbet and strawberry cream mix, which was only $6. He was very happy with his choices. The strawberry cream was chock-full with real strawberries, which was nice because you know that it's the real deal. The wild berry sorbet tasted a little too sweet for me, but my toddler thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Ferraro and French Vanilla
    Trina M.

It was a great sunny day to have a frozen treat so we decided on this small gem. Great selection of gelato, it was hard to choose from. I ended getting a small cup which comes with 2 nice sized scoops of Ferraro and French vanilla. It was so refreshing and light! One friendly lady was working the counter, she was busy ! It's very small but cute inside and only 2 tables to sit at and a small counter.

    Robert C.

Came out of the dumpling restaurant and saw Annie's right next door. No way we couldn't stop in after seeing the display case of gelato and ice cream. Heard from the friendly lady behind the counter that they've only been open for two months. We did a couple small combo cups. The strawberry and Oreo were really good. Prices aren't bad at all. We'll be back for sure .

    2 smalls
    Ruth L.

The portion sizes are wonderfully generous. We got 2 smalls - 1 with caffe espresso and coconut, and 1 with Tiramisu and wild berry. The coffee was okay, but we absolutely loved the rest of the flavors. The flavors and texture were on point and the flavors didn't come across as super artificial. We will definitely come again.

    Chocolate and salted caramel
    Jerri K.

Fresh and delicious! Found this little hidden gem and it did not disappoint. The flavors are amazing, the fruit in the sorbet is fresh, and Annie was so nice!! Stop by when you can--you will not be disappointed. :-)

There were many to choose from, and I'm so glad I overheard the other customers ahead of us saying that the vanilla salted almond toffee flavor was what they are known for. We ended up getting that flavor as one of our two. For our second flavor of two scoops, we ended up getting the marshmallow neapolitan. -Vanilla salted almond toffee: I can see what the other customers meant for "this is what they're known for." I love that the almond is candied/carmelized with toffee. It gives it a roasty flavor, which gives the flavor so much depth. The almond also gives a bit of crunch/texture, which makes this flavor so unique. -Marshmallow neapolitan: I'm not typically someone who likes marshmallows or goes for neapolitan, as I don't like super sweet and I don't like mixing flavors. You can definitely taste all 3 flavors--vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. The marshmallow doesn't make the ice cream as sweet as I would have thought, it really just adds the marshmallow texture. The ice cream is very thick and creamy. It doesn't melt too fast to meld all the flavors together (which I don't really like), and I really appreciate that the ice cream holds together so well! The gentleman helping us was very patient in letting us try several flavors. The shop had a more old time feel. There is a bench to sit on to eat for a bit, but no tables. Overall, I would totally come back to try their unique flavors!

First time, and a while since we'd been at a gelato place, many of our favorites having closed their doors. I also was curious how it would compare to our super premium ice cream haunts. Lots of flavors! You can get two flavors in a small cup ($8.99) - my wife chose a combo of ube and espresso. I went with chocolate and salted caramel. Although not cheap, the cup was packed with a generous amount. There's a decent amount of seating - and our parking spot had one hour before it turned into a pumpkin - so we could relax and enjoy the gelato. Wow, this is the real thing! Made fresh daily, obviously with quality ingredients. My Filipino wife loves her Ube, but has a hard time finding some that meets her standards. She loved this ube gelato - continually commenting on its creaminess. Her espresso gelato had that nice coffee-infused zing. My chocolate gelato was amazing, and the salted caramel wasn't bad either. This place definitely gives that super premium ice cream a run for the money - and that's saying something. We'll be sure to return.

Great--I had ordered food and had only been sitting there for about an hour. Nope. The same barista who took my order approached me to explain that the table was reserved for customers who ordered food. When I reminded her that I had, she asked what I ordered--as if she hadn't personally rung me up. She then told me I needed to return to the backless barstool. I challenged this because it made absolutely no sense. There were plenty of open tables, I was a paying customer and I was within the posted two-hour limit. She simply repeated that it was the policy. To be clear, the problem isn't that the policy was poorly communicated. The policy should not exist in the first place. Kicking a paying customer out of an empty chair and directing them back to a barstool is a horrible business model that lacks basic respect and hospitality.
