When we pulled up, the size overwhelmed us. We thought it might be commercialized. The bubbly lady behind the counter changed that. Very knowledgeable and was a great experience. Liked a lot of the wines. The rieslings were amazing and the peach. Great selection. Something for everyone.

So my friend brought me a cotton candy slushy from The Sycamore Winery ! Cotton candy is my favorite flavor of anyyything, so I was absolutely excited to try it ! And yum, was it good ! Make sure you get it thawed enough when you drink it so that you can mix it up, otherwise you just get the strong wine taste. It was very sweet, and though I wouldn't describe it as a typical cotton candy flavor, it was really good ! Interested to try more flavors in the future !

By far my favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere. Their indoor tasting room is so cute with games sat up on most tables. In the summer they have an outdoor patio that you can enjoy your beverage of choice. I got a glass of the Merlot, my mom got the white sangria, and my dad got a milk stout. They have beer options, cider options and or couse wine options. They have wine available for purchase by the bottle and some snacks available. The winery also doubles as a wedding / event venu. So make sure to call ahead to ensure the tasting room is open.

Stopped in here as part of our Mom's Day with Sigma Alpha Epsilon! They were able to quickly accommodate our large crowd. Wines, ciders and slushes were great, as was the location. Looking forward to returning!

What a wonderful place! Beautiful grounds and building with two small ponds on the grounds. The building looks like a cottage. Upon entering, there is a large room to the right, which was being set up for a wedding. To the left is the tasting room with plenty of room to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or beer (it's not just a winery). Tried the flight of 5 wines. All were good but I really liked the Sycamore red (taste the plums and has a nice finish), the "bubbly" (sweet), and the port. The patio outside has great views of the grounds and plenty of games to play.

Loved the Harvest Festival they had. Great decorations, live music, and atmosphere. Also went it their 4th of July event. Had tons of fun and it was a pretty solid fireworks display for it being a free event. Family friendly. Loved the Happy Hour wine. So delicious! Really enjoy coming here for their themed events. Very organized and professional.

My wife and I stopped by The Sycamore Winery. Starting from our drive up to the building we were amazed. Right when we walked in the inside of the building it was clean and felt inviting. We were helped with selecting the type of wine we liked and had very pleasant conversations. The best part of our trip was sitting on the back patio. The back patio faces acres of fields intertwined with 2 lakes that are amazing to look at. The stresses of life seemed to fade away while spending our evening at The Sycamore Winery.

One of the perks of retirement is having time to do day trips around the state and check out restaurants and other fun stuff. So, while on the west side, I headed north on SR63 to West Terre Haute. Destination: The Sycamore Winery and Big Leaf Brewing. This combo winery and brewery is more than that. It is a also a very cool "white barn" available for parties and receptions. It is brand new and beautifully designed on a 60 acre property with two lakes! The view, even on a chilly November afternoon was gorgeous. Inside the facility, there is a lobby with a two-story staircase. On the right is the reception area that can be rented out. On the left is the wine tasting (beer tasting too) area. After a brief look in the reception area where folks were busy decorating for an event, I went into the tasting area. Lots of tables and a counter decorated in similarly cool style. The winery is very new, and at the time of my visit, had only made one wine locally (a blackberry that sold out in a couple weeks). Most of the wines are from Michigan grapes and are bottled up there. That said, they do have enough wines on hand to sample a flight of choices ($5 for five tastes.) I selected two of the Dry/Semi-Dry and three from the sweeter side. I thought all of the wines had a full flavor and were very palate pleasing. One of the great ideas they have is that each of the wines is listed on a "menu" that customers can have. Not only do they describe the wine with details about it and its cost, but they also make some recommendations for how to best enjoy the wine, often with food pairings. Great idea! After trying the wine flight and picking up bottles of the Valley Harvest white blend and the Two Lakes red, I decided to check out the Big Leaf Brewing flight. This new edition to the facility is an in-house micro brewery. Because of the size of the brewery, there is frequent change to the options available on any given date. Although they offer $5 pints, I had them put together a flight (4 samples for $6) which had their very approachable Coal Creek Cream Ale (4.3%) and another called the Mosaic Rat. Since they were low on options, I was able to pick up a couple hard ciders (not brewed on site) that were delicious. The Cherry Bomb was quite good, combining apples, cherries, and almond flavors. I especially liked the Crisp Apple Harvest...so good on a fall afternoon. (Note: They also had a new Belgian Quad (10%) that was available, but not part of the flight options.) They do have some snacks available but do not offer meals. However, you can bring your own meal to the facility to enjoy while sampling their beverages. Very affordable beverages in a beautiful location. A great place to relax. Review #430

A great time with great friends

As a newer business in Terre Haute, this winery has truly hit the ground running. They held a Labor Day event at their venue this year that my roommates and I attended. We weren't sure what to expect, but if we had any expectations going in what we saw surely exceeded them. This venue is a pristine and elegant location for any event (such as a wedding). They sell a variety of wines by the glass and the bottle. You can purchase a bottle of wine for as low as $13. We tried two of their sweet red wines and both of them were quite pleasant. The venue is very spacious indoors and outdoors. Their outdoor landscaping is a great aspect of their location. With more than enough parking, a private location, vast green landscape, and beautiful lakes, Sycamore Winery is breathtaking. We enjoyed food from local food trucks and fireworks provided by the winery. The event was free and open to the public. It was a great time! I can't wait to go back.
