Stopped here on the way back home from Myrtle beach. At 10pm at night, there aren't many options available on that route.. especially places that would be open. The prices were very good, we had awesome service and the food was great! Everything came out quick & we were able to get right back on route in no time. Even their house margaritas are only $6. My only negatives were the kids quesadilla was really small, cut into two triangles. It did come with fries but it didn't make a difference. My 5yr old was still hungry. The kids meal option wouldn't be ideal for older kids. Also, the queso was a bit thin for my liking. But I would definitely stop here again! read more

Very easy access from hwy 74, we stopped in for lunch on a road trip and got a delicious quick meal. Very busy at lunch time (around noon) but tables were quickly cleaned so we only waited maybe 3-5 minutes for a table. Chips were great, lots of different salsa/sauce options (tomatillo, chipotle, and mild/hot salsa). Service was kind, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. I got the flautas and my husband got three tacos. Perfect portions and were delicious. Our kids ate chicken fingers and fries so good for them too! I passed this place on the way to the beach and thought it looked interesting but didn't have time to stop, so I made sure to stop on the way back. In chatting with the waitress she said that new owners had just taken over the restaurant and it had changed formats from previously order at the counter to now having waitstaff. My favorite thing about the Taco Factory is that they give you 3 different salsas with your chips - a mild red salsa, a spicy salsa verde, and a creamy salsa. Each of these were delicious and I liked having the variety of flavors. Wanting an entree on the lighter side, I ordered the taco salad with chicken. It was exactly what I was hoping for and very tasty. The waitress was very attentive and despite a fairly busy restaurant, she frequently checked in on me and made sure everything was to my liking. If this place were closer to home, I'd definitely be a regular. I plan to visit again next time I'm in the area! The only thing that was displeasing was that they charged me 15 cents for water. 4 stars. Would be 5 but they've slowly migrated more towards being a traditional Mexican restaurant instead of a taquiera. Maybe that was a response to COVID where people could no longer dress their own tacos. Just if you're gonna take the thing that made you unique away, they aren't the best Mexican place in a town with a lot of choices. They are very quick however so if you're short on time but craving Mexican food, this is place to go. They also have the best chocolate Tres Leches cake I've ever had. read more

Stopped by based on Yelp but I should have walked out when I looked at the cleanliness of the salsa bar. The cashier was rude when I explained I had never eaten here and she began to educate me like a 1st grader. When I ordered the food I was excited about my taco because they advertise they as "freshly made". I sat and grabbed some stale chips that had been previously fried and then left on the bar. The salsas looked tempting but some of them were at the end of the container. When I receive my dishes over the counter I first looked at the small taco and was very disappointed, then a was given the chimichanga and the biggest thing I saw was the FLY. How could the guy miss the big black fly in the yellow cheese sauce? When I returned to the counter I asked for a new dish and they did make it but some attention to details would have made a big difference. It wasn't like the food sat for ever on the counter; he called me, pleased the plate down and walked away, I walked 3 stepped and looked down and saw the fly. The did fix the dish but between the very dry asada meat in the taco, the tablespoon of guacamole ($.50 extra) and the stale chips and dirty salsa bar I could not rate them any higher. For a restaurant with not much around it, the food and service was great. I stopped in during a work trip and it was the only place around that was not fast food. I ordered the taco salad with asada. The food was fresh and well-seasoned. Gina, one of the staff was SO friendly and made us feel right at home. We sat outside on the patio, but the inside of the restaurant was clean as well. This restaurant is right across the street from a Days Inn and Quality Inn in Rockingham, NC. The outside patio/deck area is nice and the wait service was quick and very friendly throughout our dinner. Their homemade tortilla chips and salsa/sauces are fresh and delicious. The chips came out warm and you can see the light layer of salt on them! The menu is diverse and our entrees were both very fresh and tasty. They also have a nice beer/alcohol selection and my lime margarita on the rocks (with a salted rim) was excellent. We were very happy with the whole experience and we think it holds its own (and then some) with other great-tasting Mexican restaurants.
