Im always in the mood for a good taco and when a place gets recommended to me I have to try it out. So here we are! The food is pretty amazing. I tried the Pastor, Carne Asada, and Campechano. The tacos were loaded with sauce and cabbage, cheese and beans. The salsas had great flavor with a nice kick. If you can handle the heat I highly recommend the Pineapple Habanero salsa. Sweet with heat. I ordered the regular street tacos, the Sonora tacos, the taco man style tacos, and the mulitas. Not one complaint except that I didn't have room to try more. Susan was great when helping us at the register. She answered all our questions and was patient with explaining sizing and ingredients to us. The vibe is very relaxed. Great music, sports on the TV, and a mixed variety of younger folks, older folks, and families. This place hits the spot and checks all the boxes for a great Taco place to enjoy some food with the family. Oh and they crank the food out really fast too. I'm so disappointed with an experience I had here today, May 10. I placed an order for two burrito bowls and the cashier (a Hispanic girl with black hair) charged me for two burritos. I didn't think to check my receipt because I clearly asked for bowls. When my order was ready, the cook brought a bag of burritos and that's when I noticed the cashier charged me for burritos instead of bowls. Not one of them apologized for their mistake. They said, "receipts are provided so you can double check your order." What kind of customer service is that?! It is not my responsibility to check this. I was clear when I was ordering. If the cashier selected the wrong item, that is her fault! The cook offered to remake my order, but by that time, I was so irritated that I lost my appetite. I asked for a refund and had to request a receipt of proof because the cashier didn't bother to print it, initially. I also asked for her first name in case I have issues with the refund and she declined to give that information. So odd of her. I only asked for it to have it ready if I needed to call in the next few days if I didn't receive my refund to mention who processed my refund. She needs better customer service and needs to learn that an apology is necessary she is wrong. If the owner ever reads this review, this happened around 3 PM. Taco Tuesday here is not to be missed. But I would come back anytime for the good food and friendly service. Staff very nice. Street tacos $2, chips $2, beer $3. I really love the carnitas. The chicken is grilled and chopped. We also got a couple burritos to go for some people back home. Those are on the expensive side but they are good and big. They would feed two in our house. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but this really bothered me. The restaurant itself was nice and the dog was cute, but I honestly don't think animals should be allowed inside where people are eating. It felt really unsanitary watching a dog walking around near tables and food. I understand people love their pets, but there's a time and place for them, and in my opinion a restaurant dining area isn't one of them. Taco Man is in Upland at the Sprouts shopping center. It is on the north west corner of it. First, I've been aware of Taco Man for years because we used to visit him at his stand and I'd been disappointed in myself for not going to the store. Since I had some time today, I thought to myself that I should run in and get a couple of tacos before I go get my nails done because I remember the owner's posts from Facebook and I like to support the small businesses of Upland. I go in and it's packed. I was surprised and happy for him to see all the hustle and bustle. I ordered a shrimp taco (not on menu) and a carne asada taco. I have not yet eaten the shrimp taco because the carne asada taco was super filling. It was also very good. I was very happy with it. The owner came around and gave me some chips and those were good too. Not too salty and nice and fresh. I'm a salsa snob and love hot salsas. I ordered the pineapple habanero because it was supposed to be the hottest and also got the red. For me, the pineapple is too sweet to feel hot so I was thankful I got the red because that went perfectly with the chips and the taco. Even with the hustle and bustle, my order didn't take too long. The owner did a great job of going around to clean and make sure customers were well taken care of. Happy I had the time to go in today. I thought I had reviewed this location before, but apparently not. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. The meat choices are minimal, but the ways you can enjoy them are not. My go-tos are the asada and al pastor, and I prefer them Tijuana-style or Sonora-style. I tried the Taco Man style once, and it was just overflowing with cheese. Was in the Upland area and wanted to try a Taco Tuesday spot. Had my buddy with me to go have some tacos! $2 taco Tuesday, not bad! The bean and cheese burrito was good too! Gotta have those different flavored salsa. Mines being the green salsa. I would have given 5 stars but I waited quite a bit for my food. They were busy but waited longer than expected. At onetime I was going to see what the hold up was but than my food came out. Other than that, everything was good and the tacos where delicious. I remember getting tacos from his stand years and years at special events so I was so excited to see The Taco Man close by and couldn't wait to try it again. Unfortunately after waiting for my order I picked up my tacos and burrito and the tacos were so cold and hard! We all were so disappointed in the food we basically took a few bites and threw the rest away (and they're not cheap). The few times I have been, it has been good, but nothing to shout about. I like the quality of the meats, and I do especially enjoy the burrito, and the price seems on par with the average. I don't like that the wait is always a bit too long, and the salsas are lackluster, we have to work on that salsa Taco Man. 7/1/25 Met up with friends to celebrate Taco Tuesday at this chill place. The vibe is easy & comfortable. It's a walk-up to order your food and staff are friendly. Self serve for your drinks means free refills! I ordered 3 types of the special $2 tacos: al pastor, carnitas & I forgot my 3rd option, plus chips & guac ($6). My friends were almost finished with their meals. I requested for grilled onions & I received some that were barely grilled & cut into big chunks. The flavor of the tacos were a bit underwhelming & my tortilla chips tasted a bit stale. I wanted to enjoy these with my guac but it just did not taste appealing. Came by on a Tuesday around 130pm, and while the place was busy there was no line. I got my order quickly (4 tacos) for total of under $10, which is a solid deal. The meat serving is generous and they included 2 hot sauce servings and 2-3 corners of lime. I got 2 chicken and 2 carnitas, with the pineapple habanero salsa (their "hot" choice) I was more impressed with the generous amount of meat than the flavor, which seemed pretty muted without adding hot sauce. The heat on the pineapple habanero is nice but next time I'll probably get medium so I can avoid the sweet of pineapple on my tacos. read more

I'm really really happy with my meal lunch with the chicken and it was extremely flavorful and came with a lot of food for $10. I also got an El Pastor taco, which was so flavorful and it even comes with the pineapple. I think my most favorite thing was the Horchata. It was just made perfectly and didn't have too much sugar and you can tell it had a special touch to it almost like being in your nanas kitchen! They also were really kind and gave me some complementary grilled onions that were so flavorful. I'm definitely gonna save them for an extra meal. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

We ordered an asada burrito bowl, Baja style fish taco, chicken quesadilla and a chorizo and al pastor burrito. All the food was bland and had very little to no flavor. The burrito bowl was bland and mainly tasted like onion. The rice, beans and asada had no flavor. We couldn't finish it. The Al pastor didn't taste good and the chorizo was surprisingly bland considering it usually has good flavor elsewhere. The fish in the taco tasted frozen and the crema was bland as well. The quesadilla was the only item that tasted somewhat better but not worth the price. I really hope they add more seasonings to their food. Unfortunately, we won't be going back. Good amount of seating space with adequate tables and chairs plus stools. They even have a small bar stool section with TV for the game watchers. Funny, I just realized its setup is like a drinking bar so let's call it a taco bar in a drinking atmosphere LOL. They have a soda fountain station... btw, the water button is within the tea container not at the soda machine. They do have an all gender restroom for customer use only. Kid you not, there were some hardworking ladies behind the front counter and back in the kitchen. Why is it so hard to find a really good taco restaurant nowadays? Uh, I know why, but let's not go there Anyway, curiosity got the best of me and I gave this place a shot. I've been incredibly disappointed with how mediocre and expensive restaurants are nowadays since returning from Thailand, which has some of the best food in the world. But Southern California is also supposed to have some of the best food in the world. These tacos are very solid. The meat is juicy and tender, even if it's not as fresh as street tacos. The sauce, onions, cilantro, tortilla -- all the accoutrements are done well. The only bad thing about this place is the price. It's not cheap. Four bucks a taco is pretty crazy when you can get even better tacos for $2 in L.A., but this ain't L.A. The taco scene in I.E. is weak AF right now. This place will leave your wallet gaping but will solve your taco problem up to L.A.'s standards. Customer service wise, it was dinner rush.
