Los Toltecos is a Mexican restaurant in Broadlands with plenty of free parking in the lot in the complex. Also, there's also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance can be described as very casual and family friendly - good for groups 6-8 people. Our server was really nice and efficient, she got our group in and out during our lunch hour. It was also really easy to split our check. However, the food was okay for the price. On the lunch special, you get 2 tacos and refried beans for $12.99 which was a little bit expensive for the quality and quantity. I definitely wish I had another taco and the meat was a little chewy. However, it was seasoned nicely and had a nice sauce on top. I'd recommend coming here if you're looking for a quick casual meal with a small group that isn't picky. read more

Great food, good service, very reasonable prices and huge portions! Brought me water and chips and a tasty salsa. Ordered an unsweet ice tea that they kept refilling it every few minutes. Ordered a Fajita Texara which is a combination of chicken, beef and shrimp with peppers, onions and other vegetables, plus pico, guacamole and sour cream on a bed of lettuce with rice and refried beans. The food was prepared to order, came very quickly and was huge and extremely filling. The dish was extremely flavorful. I went to Los Toltecos for lunch today with a friend, my first visit in about a year. They have revamped their lunch menu since I was there last. I got the beef chimichanga, fried, which came with rice, choice of black or refried beans, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. It was delicious!! The meat was tender and flavorful, the cheese sauce was really good and the rice and beans were cooked perfectly. My friend was very happy with her meal as well and we both ate until we were uncomfortably full because the food was so good we couldn't stop. The service was also friendly and the food came quickly. If you haven't been to Los Toltecos in a while (or ever), I highly recommend a visit. read more

Today was my first time visiting, los toltecos but their food look really good online so I wanted to give it a try. The first thing I noticed is that they don't have it to go area. I wanted to order food to go so I had to stand at the host stand to place my order, even though I asked And pointed towards the bar for to go. I did have a little waiting area off to the side where I can sit to place my to go order. I looked over the menu and place my order, but before placing it, I did ask if they take Apple Pay. The lady looked a bit confused at first, but then said yes after about two minutes of entering one entrée, she explained that she had to basically create a receipt for Apple Pay. I'm used to scanning it at the terminal but that was fine. I waited a few minutes and then I decided to go to the bar knowing that they take Apple Pay. I sat at the bar on the far left side. There were two bartenders or staff members working behind the bar. One was a guy with a white apron, talking to a customer and did not greet me. The other was a lady who was helping a customer with a large drink order, and she was very personable with him. She even helped him out to the car with his drinks but the guy behind the bar was just steady talking to the 1 guest without acknowledging me. I'm not sure if it was his friend and he did not belong behind the bar to begin with, but again he had a white apron on as if he worked in the kitchen. There were only three people total at the bar, including myself. When the lady came back in, she did ask me if I needed help I explained that I was waiting for my togo order but wanted to get a shot a patron neat and she bought me a shot glass with salt and a lime which is not neat. She then run up my check, and I told her that my food was given to me and that I was ready to close out with Apple Pay again it took her about a minute to ring it in. She first attempted to get help, but then figured out how to do it on her own. With this location, customer service needs to be worked on and their training of the staff to use Apple Pay which most businesses/customers use needs to be approved upon. When I was there, there were only two dine in guest and three people at the bar, including myself. It was a Friday at around 5:30 PM. I have not tried the food but I did look through my bag where I got a small bag of chips and sauce. I got a burrito for about $15 with no sides no rice, no beans on the side just a burrito. Hopefully the taste of the burrito will overwhelm me with regard to the customer service that I experienced to make me want to try this place again. All customers, regardless of how they look like should be treated the same to when over your guess. I work in the food service industry and there were a few things that I would do differently at this location to help build guest so that there weren't a total of four customers in the whole restaurant at 5:30 PM. read more

Such a colorful restaurant with Mayan/Aztec art everywhere from paintings, murals, and furniture design. The food was surprisingly delicious. Coming from Southern California, we have high standards when it comes to Mexican food and Los Toltecos did not disappoint! We had the Carne Asada platter. Marinated Flat Iron steak served with beans, rice, pico de Gallo and guacamole. We stopped by for a quick late dinner so we shared this dish between my partner and I. We were full and highly satisfied with the big serving. The complimentary chips and salsa helped along with our agua frescas. I liked the horchata more than the tamarindo which lacked both the extreme sour and sweet that I was expecting. If you like your food spicy, ask for their hot sauce. Yum! The platter could've used some lime on it but they brought it when we asked so no biggie. The service was great too even though we arrived an hour before closing time. Their teamwork made it a nice dining experience. Not sure if it was the manager or owner who stopped by for quality check but it was sweet that they thanked us for our business. We were early for dinner based on the fact that we were the only ones there. We were seated promptly. They brought our drinks and chips and salsa immediately. The chips were good, not too salty. The salsa had a nice texture but was fairly bland. My son had the kids' nuggets. At first he said they were good, but said they tasted of shrimp. I guess they probably fried them in the same oil. He actually left 2. The fries themselves tasted ok but were DROWNING in salt and pepper. I had the Fajita Del Mar with shrimp and scallops. The shrimp was ok, but the scallops were very fishy. The worst Mexican food & experience. It was early on a Thursday evening so the restaurant was not overwhelmed. Our server was soft spoken & difficult to understand. She took our order & then we had to ask 2 different people for her to finally come back to receive our bill. 2 of the people with me were vegetarian & their salads were totally wrong. The lettuce was sour. When we shared this with management, he stood there awkwardly & stated the lettuce was not soggy & maybe it was their taste buds ??? He took the salads off our bill, but then charged us for the ice cream HE OFFERED to make up for their mistake. I looked at my credit card statement today (Saturday) & they also charged me more than our bill was. I hope this business is ashamed & goes under in the near future. read more

Los Toltecos Bar & Grill is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious. My favorites are Steak Fajitas, Cabo San Lucas salad and Los Toltecos chicken. I have tried many of the other dishes but the 3 I mentioned are my favorites. My favorite drinks are the Skinny Margarita made with fresh lime juice and a drink named Gloria. The Gloria drink has to be made by Ismael the manager. Pitchers of beer are available. My husband likes Miller Lite or Dos Equis beer. You are greeted by the warm staff who make you feel like you are home. Once you are seated the warm chips and salsa are served. Ismael, the manager has trained his staff well. He goes around the restaurant to make sure all his customers are happy. My husband and I go here usually once a week for our Mexican food fixed. read more

Amazing menu options including a smaller sized lunch menu (even though the portions are still huge!). The taco salad was in a crispy shell and filled up to the top with flavor and it was only $8! The flautas were packed with flavor and the service was great. Our waitress helped us pick out some items for our first time here and even suggested some things we could share. The waters were refilled quickly and we had a wonderful experience for our first time here! Definitely stop in and bring everyone for a fiesta! Great for groups and the bar seemed like a great time. I ordered a lime margarita and our server Iris O. served me a virgin margarita after I showed her my Virginia drivers license showing that I am in fact 21. If you're going to question my age I'd rather a manager be brought out to verify instead of paying for a cup of lime juice. I have eaten here two time in the last three weeks. I love Mexican food and this is the closest to my house. Probably wont go here again or maybe wait a few months to see if things change. Both visits the staff was very friendly but slow. Three weeks ago I got fajitas. The beef was very tough and rubbery. The hot salsa has a weird taste and not really that hot. Said to myself I wouldn't go back but this week I was craving Mexican food again so gave it another try. This visit I got beef tacos. The meat taste like they loaded it with sugar, tasted weird. I didn't say anything to my son. He said the enchilada sauce taste like canned chef boy ravioli sauce. I love salty food but the black beans were overloaded with salt. Each and every member of the staff is always ready with a friendly smile and positive attitude. They are never pushy and if something is wrong, they will take care of you. Food: The portions are generous and for the most part decently tasty. The chips are to kill for and you should try the green enchiladas Price: Their happy hour is outstanding in terms of price (really cheap margaritas) and the regular prices are not bad either Ambiance: On a good, busy night it gets really busy and most of the clientele are really nice people (lots of families and young professionals) who there to have a good time and enjoy the experience. I have been there in a couple of comedy nights (on Thursdays) and the comedians they chose were really good. Location: You always find parking and the fact that is on the opposite side of the busiest restaurants in the mall makes it a winner for me. So we recently went here again and it wasn't as good as I remembered. The fajitas were all veggies and no meat. They were pretty bland. The veggies were cooked so long that they really lacked color. Not a nice presentation. Atmosphere was fine. It was clean. Not too noisy. The service was okay. Friendly, but not very attentive. We had the fried ice cream again and it wasn't the best. First I like a little more crispy outside and second please don't put rainbow sprinkles on it. I don't know many adults who like sprinkles. The lighting in this restaurant was weird to me - extremely bright, cool white that made the refried beans look like an unappetizing shade of puce. This wasn't velveeta based, but its white queso cousin with a dollop of yummy chorizo and another dollop of refried beans that sat in the center of the bowl of queso. I can see how a (or more than one) chorizo filled taco would never make it home, and really, you may not want to share in the first place either.
