In late 2023, I visited at least ten men's tailors in the Dallas area, who were known as custom or bespoke tailors, about shortening some suit jackets and sportscoats from the top of the garment (i.e., at the shoulder seam). Orlando was one of only two tailors with the skill and confidence to undertake the work. The work involved difficult alterations that were not typical for most tailors. He did a great job advising me as to what and what couldn't be done and performing the work. The price was more than that for more normal alterations, but was still reasonable for the work. The work was so good that it's almost impossible to tell that the garments were not originally constructed as they now are. I heartily recommend Orlando and his tailors! read more

Great work! I had him basically rebuild a unique shirt that I had bought that fight like a tarp on me, once he was done with it, it fit like a glove! I had the same thing done with some pants that were probably 4 sizes too big, he turned them into the best fitting pair of pants I own! As far as pricing goes I have no idea how his prices compare because he is the first tailor I have ever used but I can say that I was happy to pay whatever was charged because the quality of the final product was so incredible. read more

These guys are lifesavers. I had a heavily beaded sherwani that I needed to be tailored for my wedding. I took it to several tailors who all said they couldn't get it done. The third tailor I took it to said they'd get it done in about a week, but then after holding onto it for 6 days, they called to tell me that they couldn't do it. At this point, it was about a week and a half out from my wedding. I found the Tailor Shop on Yelp, gave them a call, and they luckily had an appointment cancel so I was able to meet them half an hour after my previous tailor had backed out. I was really stressed about the outfit not getting tailored in time, but they 100% delivered. I called them a few days after I dropped off the outfit to see if there would be any issues and they assured me it would get done. They managed to tailor the sherwani down to size and keep almost all of the embroidery - you couldn't even tell which parts they had to work around. It was a great fit and they got it done as a rush job, no problem. Seriously can't recommend this place enough. 10/10. read more

My 17 year old son was far away from home, in Dallas at a high school Business Professionals of America National Conference. On the first night, when gearing up for the opening event, Jack was helping to move a case of water when his brand new suit pants ripped - a huge opening in the seat! I messaged The Tailor Shop - Dallas through their website before going to bed (praying that we could resolve his issue). I awoke to a message from Orlando saying my son could come by in the morning and he would fix the pants on the spot. Orlando did just that - and fixed Jack's pants with double reinforcement. Did an excellent job getting a suit ready for me for a wedding. Orlando was both professional and casual, making the experience as easy as possible. There's few things I appreciate more in a profession like tailoring than someone who will say "We can do less" instead of tacking stuff on like a sitcom garage taking advantage of a customer. Orland was quick to point out aspects of the suit that were great, aspects that needed work, and did only what was necessary to make it a solid looking suit. The result was I got what I wanted, at less than I expected, and looked great. Service like that makes me want to give a place more business rather than feel taken advantage of once. The service I got was quick, done before they promised, and with real attention to detail. A phenomenal value and I'll be back soon. This is a few months late but a few months ago I got married and I had to get a lot of things tailored in a short amount of time, Tux, shirts, vests, pants. Orlando was super helpful and more importantly did great work. I even had him tailor my Indian wedding outfit that an Indian tailor actually didn't do right. I have been having a majority of my cloths tailored for about 6 years now. In NY, Chicago, cali and it's hard to get someone you trust. He will be my go to tailor as long as I live in dallas. His work is fantastic and doesn't over charge like some other supposedly high end tailors in the area. read more

Orlando is a miracle worker! After discovering The Tailor Shop on Yelp, I decided to bring in four Men's Warehouse/Jos. A. Bank suits to have them "modernized" and Orlando could not have been more helpful! Now they look much slimmer, cleaner, and like they are more expensive! Throughout the process, Orlando was friendly, communicative, and available. He explained what changes he would like to make for each suit, why those were important, how they would change the fit, and more importantly, what changes he would not want to make. He was cost-conscious in exactly the way you want a great tailor to be--not pushing every minor change, but pointing out and making the changes that will have the most and best impact. And he hit it right on the head. My jackets fit tighter with fewer creases and he was able to taper my pants and bring up the break such that they look like bespoke pants. Extremely pleased with Orlando and his work and will definitely return! Prices were extremely reasonable for the high level of service and work done, looking forward to bringing in more items. The Tailor Shop altered my wedding dress to perfection...hands down BEST tailor in Dallas and best experience ever!!! Orlando took care of me through every step of the process, from initial fittings, to adding customizations (like sewing buttons down the back of my dress), to finally steaming and hanging the dress for my big day! I was a pretty picky bride with several requests and questions, and Orlando absolutely knocked it out of the park. There was nothing he couldn't do, and he made me feel absolutely confident that my dress was in good hands. Also, Audrey helped add the finishing touches and was a joy to work with! I actually was having such a wonderful experience with them that my husband-to-be decided to have them alter his wedding tuxedo as well -- and of course they did so flawlessly! They both worked incredibly hard to make it exactly as I imagined, and they even made time to get me in for fittings as soon as ONE WEEK before my wedding so I could have it altered to my body shape just before the big day (as opposed to several months before). When you walk into this place, you may think you don't belong for a second because of the high ceilings and large mirrors and leather furniture. However, the owner will make you feel like you're the most special customer in the world, even if you're bringing in a powerlifting singlet instead of Prada trousers. He measured and marked and made me feel confident in the final product. The price was VERY reasonable ($15 for a hem) but the work was unsurpassed.
