I'm always hesitant to try new groomers as my dog, Cashew, is very anxious and has sensitive skin due to her allergies, but the groomers at The Tailored Tail were very accommodating! I had made an appointment online using their website after filling out a quick and easy form listing a couple concerns I had about my dog. To my surprise when I came to drop her off, the owners were ready to have a consultation with me about when to pick her up and addressed all concerns I had with reassurance that Cashew would be properly accommodated for. They really took the time to understand what I was asking for and assured me that Cashew would be handled with the utmost of care. About an hour and a half later, I received a text that Cashew was for pick up. The owners handed me my dog who no longer seemed nervous and now had a cute little bandana! They summarized the services they did and although I was skeptical at first, it was SERIOUSLY worth the price. I was informed that Cashew had some matting, which I was unaware of, and that they went ahead and took care of that for me. They bathed, trimmed her nails, groomed, and styled her to perfection. This is the softest she's ever been EVER! I seriously will never take her to another groomer again after how well me and my dog were treated. read more

We've taken our Golden doodle here twice now and we have loved the results both times. I believe it's the owner who has cut his hair both times and I do not know how she does it but he always looks so fluffy and cute. She is super super patient and loving. I can tell she not aggressive with the dogs because his behavior is always normal/excited after we pick him up. Unfortunately we've had bad experiences with other groomers in the past where our dogs come out very anxious and traumatized. She also always gives us great advice that is well received to make the process easier for him in the future as this is something he is still getting used to. 10/10 read more

I have taken my dogs there since they have been in business and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my fur babies! I love the fact that they do not keep my dogs all day and they don't use cages to contain them because one of my dogs has car anxiety issues. They do a wonderful job, my three dogs always smell so clean and the nails trimmed perfectly. Before I found Tailored Tail, other places would butcher their nails and sometimes they would not be completely dry. Plus the bandanas are so cute! read more

My pomeranian weighs 6 LBS and is a very sweet quiet dog. Firstly, The Tailored Tail charged my credit card $185 for a cut and bath before I even approved the amount. This is unprofessional. They said they had my card on file and went ahead and ran it. That is unacceptable to me. They needed to ask my permission before running it . Maybe I wanted to use another card or wanted to ask WHY they charged that much money for a small dog. It is a complete outrage to charge that kind of money. I will never return. read more

We established a time frame with monthly grooms to have her grow out. She always remembers the instructions from the last groom, but is always happy to change it up. I've been bringing my furbaby here for a few years since the Scrub A Dub era. I drive over 28miles just because I am THAT comfortable with Elizabeth in handling the grooming of my maltipooyorkie. For years I had been looking for the right groomer for my dog and understand the anxiety in finding the right folks to trust with your pet. I have been horrified with how pets are treated when you're not around (even in the big box stores) and I can say with complete confidence that my pet, even though she is 9years old and fidgety, is NEVER traumatized when we leave here and comes out looking so cute and fresh everytime! Elizabeth is very professional and will go over all the details and will discuss any special requests you may have. This is service by appointment only, which means your pet wont be away for 4-6 hours, waiting sadly in some strange cage. For my pet, the usual full grooming service takes 45mins - 1.5hrs depending on how busy they are and I wait for their call. I am usually early to arrive and am waiting nearby just so my doggie doesnt have to wait. They also do not cage/kennel your dog here and instead, have them waiting in a baby playpen, which Im sure is more comfortable. Thank goodness I found Scrub a Dub / Tailored Tail!! read more

Best groomer I've ever been to! First of all - I emailed asking for pricing and appointments and Elizabeth promptly responded and was very nice. She broke down the details of pricing and what it included and I got an appointment for my pup in just 2 days (on a holiday weekend). When my pup, Brody, and I arrived, we were greeted immediately by the receptionist (I failed to get her name), but she was very nice! Elizabeth (the owner) came out just a few minutes later and introduced herself and asked me what I wanted Brody's cut to look like. She asked me so many questions and details that no groomer had every asked me before, I didn't even know how to answer! I left Brody and felt completely comfortable. I trusted that he'd be in good hands. They called me about an hour and a half later to let me know he would be ready in about 15 minutes. They are a cage free facility, which I loved because that meant my dog wasn't locked up in a kennel waiting for me. His haircut is seriously the best it's ever been! He's so clean and soft and handsome! Elizabeth told me how everything went, they even applied an aloe lotion to the sensitive areas of his skin. (Side note: She also told me that it looked like he was getting an ear infection :( Funny thing is that Brody was just at the vet 2 days ago and they didn't tell us anything! That's for another review though....ha!) Elizabeth was caring, observant, sweet, and professional. Everything that you could want in someone who's taking care of your fur babies. I bring my dog, Max, in about once a month (sometimes not as frequently as I should!) and have been for a couple years. He has issues with his paws being touched, so groomers really need to develop a rapport with him. The groomer is always extremely courteous, nice and gentle with Max. Very complimentary of him, and even keeps me on my toes by gently reminding me how important it is to be consistent with nail clippings. I am not a big reviewer, but I knew I needed to leave one when Max had an accident while getting his nails clipped last week (#1 and #2). I was mortified, and Cassandra was so nice in how she let me know what happened without making me feel like a terrible dog owner. This is a top-notch groomer that gets it. Thank you! read more

The Tailored Tail was a great place to take my pup, Sadie! I heard about this shop from family friends that swear by them, and I was definitely not disappointed in the service that I received. I called early one morning to make an appointment for both pups, and I was able to make an appointment for later that day. Once we arrived, each dog was taken to the back one by one. The shop is very clean and they have a great little waiting area that owners can sit in. They also have a great variety of their products available for sale. We received a phone call less than an hour later letting us know that both were ready to be picked up. Once we arrived, their groomer came out and explained their grooming experience, including why my pup's nails were not as short (she has very long quicks, which I already knew, but it was great to be able to talk to him). The price was a little on the high end, but it was definitely worth it for the convenience and the job they did. Both came back with bandanas and smelling great!! I definitely recommend taking your pup to this shop. It's always worth to spend a little more $ to get such great service. read more

I had been taking my coton de tulear to Tailored Tails for a couple of years and was pretty satisfied with their services. Then several months ago I brought him home and noticed within an hour that he was blinking one eye and was in pain. I called and the groomer denied that anything had occurred during the grooming. She told me, "He may have hair in his eye. Just rinse it and do not take him to the vet." I already had made a vet appointment for that day which confirmed he had a large corneal ulceration. When I called back, the groomer said angrily, "What makes you think it happened here?" I regretfully decided never to take him back to Tailored Tails. If they had taken responsibility, and even better, offered to compensate me for a $200 vet bill, I may have made a different decision! What a bad business practice!!! read more

I took my standard poodle in a while back because of the great reviews. Well, I'm here to tell you they are pretty rigid in outlook. First there was a multipage list of their rules to agree to; an example--all dogs must have cotton balls in their ears when being bathed Huh? Wouldn't you expect that to keep ears dry? Someone must have had a nervous dog, so they made a rule about it. Rather strange. The big issue is that my dog is a piddler--you know, he pees a little when he is stressed or nervous. I know it's annoying - it annoys me too, but he really can't help it. When I came to pick him up they said he wasn't housebroken and they had had to re-bathe another dog because of it. Well that was sort of hard to visualize because it's usually just a teaspoon/tablespoon of urine or less. So they told me not to come back in a very rough manner. No problem guys, I wouldn't dream of it. In addition they completely cut off his pretty long eyelashes, and whacked his ear feathering way off too. Very unpleasant experience. And yes, I had said he was a piddler up front. read more

They shaved her to her skin and she doesn't even look like the same dog! They shaved her leg hair and face hair to the skin. We have been taking our Goldendoodle, Penny, here since her very first cut. While I've only interacted with a handful of the staff at Tailored Tail (who have all been a pleasure to deal with), our go-to professional is Christian. I was worried on our first visit or two that Penny would resist and make the job tough, but Christian was able to get it done with no nicks or burns and gave us some helpful tips on calming Penny for everyday brushing, etc. She has always been personable and Penny trusts her and has, from what I can tell, been much easier to deal with throughout the last few groomings. Because of yelp reviews i tried this place out . I was not dissapointed. My dog was in a bad condition, in need of a wash, nail needed clipping and defenetly needed a haircut . I have a shih tzu and because of all the knots he had , i knew they were going to have to shave him. I expected to receive him completely bald, but no he still had hair on his head and body . Did i mention he smelled really good and was soooo soft. Defenetly recommend this place ! We decided to take our dog to The Tailored Tail after having a very unfortunate experience at Glamour Dogs Salon. Elizabeth was our dog's groomer and she took extra time when I dropped my girl off to ask me exactly how I would like my dog cut (which varied from the typical cut for the breed) and make sure she was aware of any specific issues my dog had. Our appointment took about 2 hours and you could tell she really took her time and paid attention to every detail from the results!
