However, since I live in Aventura, I decided to give RH Hair Salon a try. The salon is marketed as a high-end establishment with predominantly good reviews, and I hoped to avoid the long drive to Coral Gables and the heavy traffic. When I called to make my appointment, I specifically asked whether the salon had experienced colorists who specialize in blonde hair. The receptionist assured me that they did, which was an important factor in my decision to book the appointment. Unfortunately, the experience started poorly. The music was blasting so loudly that it was extremely difficult to have a conversation with the stylist. The manager briefly stopped by and explained that this was the "RH Vibe" and, instead of addressing the excessive noise, offered champagne and lowered the music just a tiny bit. Because of the noise, I ultimately showed the stylist the blonde color I already had in my own hair and explained that I simply wanted the grown-out areas highlighted to match. She confirmed that she could perform the requested service. I understand that highlighting my hair can take several hours, as it has always been a lengthy process for me. However, after approximately six hours, the salon was getting ready to close. At that point, the cashier came over and asked me to pay because she was closing the register. This was a BIG mistake on my part, because I had not even seen the final result of the service. I paid $480 for what was supposed to be half a head of blonde highlights. At my usual salons in Coral Gables, I have never been asked to pay before the service was completely finished and I had seen the final result. Unfortunately, what I ended up with was nothing like what I had requested. Instead of blonde highlights, my hair was left with an unattractive brown color. There was a significant amount of bleach used, yet the result was still brown rather than blonde, and there were essentially no proper blonde highlights. I specifically chose this salon because I was told they had experienced blonde colorists, and I paid $480 expecting a professional, high-end result. The outcome was extremely disappointing and far from what I requested. Based on this experience, I will definitely be returning to the professionals I trust in Coral Gables.

During the process, the stylist caused my hair to become extremely tangled, knotted, and even started falling out. Another customer in the salon became concerned and had to step in to tell the stylist to stop. She even used her own personal conditioner to try to help untangle my hair because it had become so badly matted. Despite this, my hair could not be properly fixed. Instead of apologizing, the stylist became frustrated and said she "hates people with problems" and claimed my hair was probably in braids for too long, which was not true. I came to the salon prepared for the service. What made the situation worse is that no one apologized and the salon still charged me, even though I had to leave with conditioner in my hair and it completely undone because they could not detangle it. The experience was humiliating and very unprofessional. I trusted them with my hair and left feeling embarrassed and distressed.
