There is a lot of potential here. The space is open with plenty of seating and cozy booths. The patio will be perfect when warmer weather finally comes. The menu worked well for our group of four of carnivores and vegetarians. Our favorites were the meatballs and also the goat cheese in tomato sauce. The latter was so tasty that we ordered another one. This is where we shift to service. Tapas should arrive at the table at a good pace, and the last order of goat cheese had not arrived at the table by the time we were asked about dessert. At that point the dish could've been comped. Tapas should also come with some serving utensils, which we had to ask for or provide ourselves by taking utensils from empty tables. Servers need to visit the tables a little more frequently. Most of the other dishes were good to fine. The Brussels had too much glaze while the papasas bravas didn't have enough flavor. Some of the tapas were a little too stingy - the marinated olives could've come with more pickled onions. The goat cheese should be served with bread or arrive with another dish that includes bread. We will be back because there is room for improvement in a solid base.

We came here the night before our daughter's navy graduation since the hotel we were staying at was super close by and I am so glad we did. We had the best time! Brant was so attentive and friendly, the food was awesome, and it had an overall fun ambiance. Every single dish we tried was very tasty and the paella was absolutely worth the wait. We didn't try the alcohol but the mocktails we tried were refreshing and really hit the spot after a 4+ hour flight. We finished almost everything since it was so good, except for the paella which really is a huge dish lol. Don't know when we'll ever be back in the area, but if we are, would definitely not hesitate to go again!

The bread and the baked goat may be the only thing that would bring me back to this restaurant. They were amazing and perfect. Our server was also amazing and seemed to be the only one working the dining room as it seemed there were two parties happening. Since there were events happening it 100% believe they were being favored in the quickness of the food coming out. We waited quite a bit and I could see tables sat before us only had drinks as well. Even a couple that came to look at the space for a future event sat after us and still got their food before we did. It was annoying to be sure but I get pulling out the stops to unsure they book the party... just wish it wasn't at the expense of the other guests. On to the drinks and food: I ordered the cucumber martini and I didn't taste cucumber at all... tasted like a glass of midori. My husband needed to finish it for me. We ordered several dishes and it went from great to terrible in order of coming out. The baked goat cheese was the best thing we ate all night. And that bread.... So delicious. That's were unfortunately the went down hill. The chimichurri steak was almost inedible bc it was insanely spicy. Even for my spice loving husband couldn't handle it. We heard comments from the table next to us too. The potatoes we got were fine I suppose but there was zero seasoning to the potato itself and the sauce on top left much to be desired. Dinner itself was not very good and I was already ready to leave when our last dish came to the table (after a long wait bc I think they forgot we ordered it) croquettes came to the table almost completely frozen. The waitress offered to get us a new dish but it was the last straw we needed to leave. At least they took it off the bill, but we still managed to spend a good amount on a lackluster meal. I was excited about this restaurant but will not be going back.

Restaurant was such a pretty and stylish environment, it made me a little sad that it wasn't all that crowded. It seems like the perfect place for larger groups of people. Our server was fantastic, attentive and accommodating. The shrimp was the only really memorable dish of the three we ordered, the flatbread and salad were mediocre & not half as flavorful. They definitely looked appetizing which I can appreciate but fell short on flavor.

I ordered the Tinto de Verano, and it was really good. It was a bit strong and reminded me of a sangria. For tapas, we got the #21 shrimp dish, which was packed with flavor. The combination of sauces and spices paired perfectly with the shrimp. We also ordered the #35 calamari, which was equally delicious. The calamari was light and airy, and the accompanying sauces added even more flavor. We also shared the patatas bravas, which were crispy and had a nice little kick to them. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes!

So we came here on a random Friday night to test our luck to get a table at 7 o'clock for two people. We got lucky and got to sit inside because that's where we wanted to sit although they do have sidewalk or outdoor seating as well. I thought sitting inside would be cooler, but I was wrong as all the doors and windows were open and I don't believe the AC was on at all. Well, the menu is pretty extensive. I will say that a vegetarian could definitely eat here as well as anyone else. This is our first visit here and as you can tell from the photos ordered quite a bit of food. And typical top of style the portions are pretty small, but they are meant to be shared. It was actually too much food for two people who were already hungry. Some of the standouts were definitely the meatballs and the salad salads. The jamon iberico was absolutely incredible. Not pictured was the picture of sangria we ordered. We got the rosé and to be quite honest with all of the heat. It actually watered down way too quickly. And it also came in a plastic picture, which was a bit of a turn off. The shrimp with garlic was good, but the garlic was hard to taste because it was also covered or doused in a lot of tomato base or tomato sauce. I was really looking forward to a very clear buttery or olive oil sauce that was saturated with garlic. The mushrooms were OK as well, but again too much tomato in this dish that I'm not used to. The potatoes were also very tasty and well seasoned, and the sauce on it was just right. I think this is a good option for people who want top us in the suburbs however, I will say that I hope they do some tweaking to the recipes as well so that they have something that truly makes them stand out and unique.

We were four and decided that two Smalls and two Mains would be a fine amount and it was. If you as a group are big eaters, maybe an extra small, but use this as a guide. For the Larges, we shared the SALMON A LA BRAZILEIRA and VENEZUELAN CARBONADA (no meat eaters here). Also a bit difficult to describe, but take my word for it, very special. Le P'tit was the first to pop up on my feed and immediately caught my attention due to its unique menu, historic building, and secluded outdoor oasis for the fair weather seasons. When asked where I wanted to have dinner on my birthday, the answer was easy, L'ptit! We were greeted by the Chef Chopra outside, who welcomed us and asked us to choose the seat that suited us best in or outdoors. We chose a seat outside as it seemed most guests were enjoying the nice weather in the garden. Chef Chopra introduced himself and explained the complimentary montadito, and presented the current specials. We loved that he took time to ask what brought us in, and when we said that we were building a new home in Bartlett only minutes away, he shared that although he has been all over the world he always misses good old Bartlett, IL. This is the kind of connection and service you won't find at franchise restaurants! We enjoyed cocktails, myself a dirty tini with bleu cheese stuffed olives, and my husband the traditional old fashioned and the P'tit old fashioned - both of which he enjoyed. We ordered the hummus for an appetizer - my husband never orders humus. Not a drop was left. It was so flavorful, and since I am intolerant to gluten we loved that it was served with cucumber "chips". We will definitely order this again! Our entrees were both specials - mine the steak and shrimp tower and my husband's the Birria. We could t decide whose was better. The shrimp and steak were so flavorful and beautifully cooked, and the beef and consommé of my husband's was out of this world. My takeaways from Le P'tit: We will be there - regularly, before we move into our home, and after! Have a cocktail, they are fabulous. Talk to Chef Chopra any chance you get. He has seen the world and loves to see his guests enjoying his menu and the atmosphere of his establishment. This is what supporting local is about! Enjoy your time at Le P'tit. Savor. Take a moment to slow down, disconnect from the outside and connect with the ones around you and enjoy the wonderfully and thoughtfully prepared dishes on the menu. We can't wait to be back!

We started with Caesar Salad and a Prosciutto and Mozzarella dish. Both were good. The Caesar greens were a little "old and brown" but still tasted good. The Prosciutto dish was really good and fresh. Everyone doing great. We ordered some cocktails that were on point as well. Service was slow - probably had a little to do with being on a second floor of the restaurant. But we enjoyed the pace. Entrees ordered were 2 different steaks and one Bacon wrapped chicken. The steaks were amazing. A lot of places, even steakhouses, are cutting back on quality due to costs. These steaks were delicious. I ordered the Allen Bros Ribeye which was cooked perfect and was sooooooo flavorful. It was awesome. The Bacon Wrapped Chicken however, was actually black on top and the chicken dry and over cooked. My wife couldn't eat it. To the restaurant's strength, when we alerted the waiter, they immediately took it off the bill and offered to get anything else. After several visits, it is clear this is a restaurant that understands the fundamentals of fine dining: atmosphere, execution, and a menu that extends well beyond its steakhouse label. What first sets The Tavern apart is its ambiance. The space leans into a dark, romantic, dimly lit aesthetic that feels both polished and inviting. On our most recent visit, we were seated upstairs according to our reservation, and that remains the preferred setting. The quieter noise level above the main floor allows for more comfortable conversation and a more intimate dining experience. Service was solid, if not especially memorable. Our server was efficient and capable throughout the evening, though somewhat lacking in warmth and guidance. Fortunately, the kitchen carried the night with ease. Every entrée at the table was excellent. My wife's lobster was particularly well received, while the steaks were cooked properly, deeply flavorful, and presented with the kind of care expected at this level. Presentation across the board was refined and appealing. The wine program also deserves recognition. The list is extensive, thoughtfully selected, and offers strong choices for diners who appreciate pairing a serious bottle with dinner. The Tavern is undeniably a high-price-point experience, but it largely delivers the quality and atmosphere to justify it. For those seeking a refined steakhouse meal in Libertyville with strong food, notable wine, and an intimate setting, it is easy to recommend.
