a food truck parked on the side of the road

After an early appointment in the area I was in dire need of breakfast. Attempting to avoid an encounter w a hangrier version of myself, I turned to Yelp and scoped out what the area had to offer in close proximity. Winner: The Tasty Yoke. I was greeted by a lovely young lady, Megan? (Hope I got it right) whose friendly face & upbeat energy would set the tone for a pleasant experience. Wasn't really in the mood for anything specific so I asked her recommendation & we decided on the tasty. I have to be honest I don't wanna try any other options...but I will Chorizo was not only cooked perfectly but the flavors did a joyful dance in my mouth. I literally had a moment w the chorizo (haha) the brichoe bun was soft but solid. My sandwich remained in tact, was not greasy nor super messy (ate in the truck) I was informed that they just opened up a brick and mortar in a city nearby which I will be checking them out next!

These guys are UNREAL! New favorite breakfast spot in Fairfield. Everything from the loaded potato to the breakfast sandwich's to the burritos are delicious. Annnnnd you can TEXT THEM your order then quickly pick it up when you drive by. Love this option when I'm heading into work late or on the weekends. Definitely worth checking them out!

In town for a few days and a "tacos" yelp search led me to Bodega Taco Bar. Very glad to have…read moredropped by. Great experience. Highly recommend each of these: Bodegarita - Cazadores, luxardo triplum, lime juice, agave...this is their classic marg. Nice balance, well mixed. Bodega Original Guacamole...fantastic. Basic in a good way. Very avocado forward. Not over-salted. The chips were fresh and not salty..again in a really good way. I did ask for a few lime wedges to add a little juice, but the guac was excellent. Pork Carnitas - Crispy potatoes, onion, serrano-avocado crema, cilantro...very good. Americano - Seasoned ground beef, manchego cheese, salsa de russa, crispy taco...kinda unique. A little like a big mac meets a taco. Unexpected but very glad I tired. Gambas - Seared ancho chili shrimp, cucumber-mango salsa, chipotle mayo...my favorite one. 5-start taco. Chicken Tinga - Tomato braised chicken, cotija cheese, mexican crema...excellent as well. Service was very good. Attentive, prompt and gave good/accurate recommendations. Didn't laugh at all my jokes. That's ok- few do. Set back from the Post Road, I must have driven passed here a million times. Unassuming storefront. Cozy spot. 5 table tops and 5-ish tables. A nice bar w/ excellent tequila options. The decor matches the food and experience if that makes sense. No brainer 5 stars from me. I'll be back and I'll certainly recommend.

Road trip to Boston…read more.. Needless to say it was a Friday afternoon and traffic was a pain from the start. A quick little yelp search and we had an instant detour for some sustenances, while we let the other motorist continue on their way. Bodega, located in a small little shopping strip, is also small and quaint. Not much wiggle room so be prepared to be neighborly. We arrived half past 4, just in time for HH @ the bar. So we grabbed some seats at the end of the bar where Alex the bartender took care of us. We started with Passionritas (passion fruit margs) and guacamole. Both were equally delish and the guac is bowl licking worthy. However, I do not recommend since you are dinning in public. Lol. In addition we ordered the bodega blistered brussels sprouts and baja tacos to share. The sprouts were an absolute stand out. I opted for the Mexico City Ceasar Salad with Salmon. Presented slightly deconstructed, which didn't take anything away from the great taste. We had an absolute great experience from Alex our bartender whom was very impressionable to Diego (possible manager) whom also made a nice impression. We tried a few more margs before our departure. With the hibiscus being one of my faves. A wonderful spontaneous detour, that will now be a welcomed stop on future road strips north. Just A Note: - HH @ the Bar only (Tues-Fri 4-6pm) - You can take Bodegaritas to-go they have them bottled for sale.

Skinny Pines aims to keep its pies as local as possible, buying all its produce and many of their key ingredients from farms in Connecticut and New York. In fact, Borofsky and his truck are headquartered in Easton, just less than five miles from Sport Hill Farm, where they are regular customers. The dough is made from hard red winter wheat, a 100% whole wheat grain milled to 00, sourced from Wild Hive Farm and Bakery in Clinton Corners, New York. The dough itself is treated to a 12-hour cold fermentation before it's left to rise for its weekly market appearance. This whole wheat dough is used on each and every Skinny Pines pie. The combination of finely ground 00 whole wheat flour and the wood-fired oven creates a light and airy crust, with just a hint of pleasant nuttiness. The Bianca is my recent pie pick, a white kalamata olive and rosemary pizza. Borofsky's toppings change seasonally, so check back often for his seasonal pie offerings and call ahead for their location. A locavore pizza truck with an eye for organic quality ingredients, don't miss Skinny Pines at the Westport Farmers' Markets!

We had an event planned yesterday, 5/6/21 for our employees; 55 people were expecting a pizza truck lunch. At 4:20pm the evening before the event, I received an email from Jeff saying he had 2 problems and would not be able to do the event. Zero notice and no other options. Just, sorry. Just thought you might want to know this because hiring a reliable caterer is typically the most important quality if you are hosting any kind of event. I do not recommend. We put their name in all of the promotional postings and had a couple hundred people to feed that afternoon. Our first session began at noon - NO TRUCK, not answering calls. We had to ORDER PIZZA DELIVERY for all of the people who were expecting to enjoy lunch. We finally reached them and were told that they'd come around 3pm - when our second session began. Truck gets there around 3 and we explain to them that all attendees are out on the trails (it's an annual hiking/beer tasting event) but would start coming back to the main area in 30-40 minutes. Around 3:30, they start packing up and complaining that no one is there - even though tons of cars were lining our long driveway. THEN THEY LEAVE. Our executive director literally stood in front of their truck begging them to stay but they were out of there. People start coming off of the trails minutes later (a little buzzed and super hungry) wondering where the food was. And we have to ORDER PIZZA DELIVERY AGAIN. It was such an amazing day at Woodcock Nature Center - rain held off, awesome live music down by the pond, kids playing games and enjoying the playground and animals, adults knocking back some local craft brews..... but Cowabunga left the organizers feeling super stressed and incredibly pissed. Thanks for nothing. Food truck fail.
