Highly recommend each of these: Bodegarita - Cazadores, luxardo triplum, lime juice, agave...this is their classic marg. Nice balance, well mixed. Bodega Original Guacamole...fantastic. Basic in a good way. Very avocado forward. Not over-salted. The chips were fresh and not salty..again in a really good way. I did ask for a few lime wedges to add a little juice, but the guac was excellent. Pork Carnitas - Crispy potatoes, onion, serrano-avocado crema, cilantro...very good. Americano - Seasoned ground beef, manchego cheese, salsa de russa, crispy taco...kinda unique. A little like a big mac meets a taco. Unexpected but very glad I tired. Gambas - Seared ancho chili shrimp, cucumber-mango salsa, chipotle mayo...my favorite one. 5-start taco. Chicken Tinga - Tomato braised chicken, cotija cheese, mexican crema...excellent as well. Service was very good. Attentive, prompt and gave good/accurate recommendations. Didn't laugh at all my jokes. That's ok- few do. Set back from the Post Road, I must have driven passed here a million times. Unassuming storefront. Cozy spot. 5 table tops and 5-ish tables. A nice bar w/ excellent tequila options. Road trip to Boston... Needless to say it was a Friday afternoon and traffic was a pain from the start. A quick little yelp search and we had an instant detour for some sustenances, while we let the other motorist continue on their way. Bodega, located in a small little shopping strip, is also small and quaint. Not much wiggle room so be prepared to be neighborly. We arrived half past 4, just in time for HH @ the bar. So we grabbed some seats at the end of the bar where Alex the bartender took care of us. We started with Passionritas (passion fruit margs) and guacamole. Both were equally delish and the guac is bowl licking worthy. However, I do not recommend since you are dinning in public. Lol. In addition we ordered the bodega blistered brussels sprouts and baja tacos to share. The sprouts were an absolute stand out. I opted for the Mexico City Ceasar Salad with Salmon. Presented slightly deconstructed, which didn't take anything away from the great taste. We had an absolute great experience from Alex our bartender whom was very impressionable to Diego (possible manager) whom also made a nice impression. We tried a few more margs before our departure. With the hibiscus being one of my faves. A wonderful spontaneous detour, that will now be a welcomed stop on future road strips north. Came here for Thursdays happy hour and the place just started to get busy. The VIBE is on point with a great selection of old school R&B music. Not to mention the staff are VERY friendly and personable. The happy hour cocktails are a great mix of fruity and refreshing goodness. We got the americano, argentino, cochinita pibil and ya mon tacos!! First time at Bodega Taco Bar. When we walked in, we were told we could sit anywhere. We took a table with four seats that had two tables pushed together. The food and drinks were good, but the experience afterward left a bad impression. While we were eating, a server came by and separated the tables. Near the end of our meal someone who seemed to be in charge asked if I wanted to finish my drink at the bar. It felt like we were being rushed out after a larger party came in. What made it more frustrating was that other tables with the same amount of seating, including a single person at a 4-seat table, were not approached or treated the same way. read more

Came here on a busy Friday night. The capacity is very small so we waited a short while for a seat at the bar. Our bartender Angelina was amazing, we were fortunate to have her serve us drinks; I wanted to continue to have spicy margaritas but was tired of ordering the same drink, so she made a special flavored one for me that was not on the menu. We had freshly made spicy guac and chips. It came with a super spicy salsa. I highly recommend trying this. Our food came out quick. I tried the carnita, hanger steak Argentina, and the jerk chicken Yah Mon. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Drinks are great, overall the taco selection is top notch-- we tried every single one. Veggie taco was not good, mushrooms were undercooked and too thick resulting in a rubbery texture; meanwhile the shrimp was overcooked and also rubbery. Taco bar in a little shopping mall? Why not. Bodega is a super cute, tiny spot that gets loud fast but in a fun way. My fiancée and I grabbed two seats at the bar and kicked things off with margaritas, which were strong, tasty, and exactly what we needed. We ordered the brisket street tacos and steak quesadillas. Food came out fast, hot, and delicious. The quesadilla was the standout, but the tacos held their own too. Only downside? The hot sauces didn't really bring the heat or much flavor, honestly. The green one was better, but still kind of meh. Also, the A/C was barely holding on, but with good drinks and good tacos, who's really complaining? We'll definitely be back. Took a detour into Fairfield to grab some dinner and wound up here. It's a fairly small restaurant with a very lively atmosphere! I could definitely see this as place you'd come to for drinks and light bites with friends. I ordered 3 tacos. I was warned that they were small but was still shocked by how small when they arrived! Amazing lunch at Bodega Taco Bar Fairfield in Fairfield today. A la carte taco selections: seared tuna, pulled pork, chicken and mahi mahi (left to right). All were so delicious and fresh. Each offered their own unique flavors. Specials selection: Pollo Asado Street Tacos. These were spot on. Hot, flavorful, moist and cheesy. That charred poblano dip takes it to the next level. Everything I had was outstanding. The menu has a variety a different options, I wanted to try everything. The atmosphere is super chill, great hangout spot. The service was excellent. Was greeted coming in, sat down and was addressed by the staff immediately. The server was friendly, helpful and attentive. The food came out hot and in a timely manner. I dined at Bodega this past Saturday night while visiting friends in Fairfield. They had never been to Bodega and wanted to try. The restaurant is fairly small and does not take reservations. They had high top tables for two lining the one wall and regular tables that could be made to accommodate groups of 2/4/6 depending what was open when you first walk in. There are also several bar stools. We had no wait at 7:30 pm getting a table for 4. We started off ordering drinks and an order of double guac w/ chips. The first round of drinks took a really long time to come out however the server made sure to keep refilling our water vases as soon as they were empty. The double guac was the perfect size for 4 and was very tasty. The server also replenished our chips without asking when they got low. For mains, my boyfriend and I each ordered a few different tacos and the street corn elote from the app section. The elote was delicious! The tacos are on the smaller side, so I had no problem eating 3. Of the 3 I ordered, the gambas was the most bland and too mayo-ey. I really liked enjoyed the Ya Mon and Baja tacos. My friends had a taco salad with chicken and a tuna poke bowl w/ a taco on the side. We all liked our food and the portions were a good size. The only thing that was annoying was that they didn't plate the tacos based on our orders - they grouped a bunch of them together even though they weren't all for the same person so we had to figure out what was what. Went last year for Fat Tuesday and had the best experience, went this year for Fat Tuesday and was disappointed to see they moved the happy hour deal to bar only, especially when they have a small bar area (maybe 10 seats). As a happy hour lover, my group was mad to not get seats at the bar and sit at a high top (where we sat last year and got happy hour deals). Their margs are good and guac delicious. First visit here for dine in. Small place. Driving by it is so easy to miss as it is in the same shopping plaza as Italian Kitchen. I have been to this plaza many times and never even took notice of this place, only finding it via Yelp. We arrived on an early Sat night, and did not want high top stools, so we were seated in the corner of restaurant by windows---which was nice, but cold draft in the wintertime. I was so cold the entire time. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. Margaritas were o.k.--standard fare. For starters we ordered the Street Corn Elote-- grilled corn off the cob. We were hesitant with off the cob, but ordered this and it was fantastically flavorful and more than enough for two. We also ordered the chopped salad which was also more than enough for two. We each decided to order 3 tacos: baja, americano, agentino, conchinita, a duck concoction and an offered special chix. My fave was the baja. My partner's fave was the americano. Experience was nice and everything on site and taste appeared to be fresh. Prices at bit too expensive for a weekly or even monthly outing, but may stop in for the taco specials offered on I think Tuesdays? read more

Went to Bodega last night with a friend. Drinks were amazing and tasty as always...probably my go to (strong lol) marg in Fairfield! I got 4 tacos instead of my usual burrito bowl and I was glad I did because they were great! We did wait about 45 minutes to sit outside, but one waitress (who did not help us but we wish she did) named Jenny was so kind and considerate, we even saw her get complimented by another customer. She spoke to us during our meal to make sure we enjoyed everything. The manager made his way around too and was also very kind as he let customers know the card machine was temporarily down. What can I say? It's a nice little spot, convenient from the highway, close to coffee, in all ways both a handy location and a decent meal. They honored my husband's onion allergy and made stuff fresh or substituted really creatively. Both visits, the staff was great, and the location was clean. The bathroom is Quite Small and equipped with a red bulb, likely just so the light doesn't wreck the bar area, but certainly amusing to me. I like. The tacos are great and they have a good variety. The burritos are really good too but I would get the burrito bowl next time because mine fell apart immediately. The vegetarian burrito was delicious I was surprised they could include brussel sprouts without it overpowering the rest. Service was great. Very small in there so just felt overall pretty confined, which is hard when eating Mexican food. The food was good, not the best Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered a side of rice, and even specified that I wanted Mexican rice, but received white rice. Even if I hadn't specified which type of rice I wanted, I feel like that should've been obvious otherwise. Definitely arrive hungry because the food was very filling! Stopped here with my daughter for lunch on Cinqo de Mayo. Fantastic guac and chips. I ordered the gambas and americano tacos which were both great. Next time I'll get two of the gambas tacos though because the deliciousness was off the charts! My daughter ordered the same plus one other taco (I forget which one but she raved about her tacos also. She ordered a Cadillac Margarita and I tried it...so fresh tasting! Bodega is an excellent place to stop and get a drink and some tacos. I've come multiple times now and have not had a bad experience. The atmosphere: is a very trendy taqueria. They have a great bar and limited seating inside. The staff: have always been kind and quick. I have never had a problem. The food: is delicious if you know what to order. Some tacos are hit-and-miss, but the carne asada main was delicious and might be the best item on the menu. The guacamole is also freshly made. Cleanliness: every time it has been clean. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I am not much of a taco person myself but this place was so good. I came with a friend during lunch on a Wednesday and it was not busy, we were seated right away. The tacos were seasoned and cooked to perfection! I had the Argentino (steak) and Baja (fish) taco, and all of the ingredients were crazy fresh. Although I wish there were actual fish in the Baja taco.... nonetheless, I enjoyed both choices! Argentino: 8.7/10 Baja: 8.4/10 But the real star discovery of this place was the BRAISED BEEF RIBS! Oh my goodness... it was the most tender meat I have ever had by far. Under it was a cheesy potato dip component to the dish where you eat with the meat. A solid set up that's wearing somewhat thin. It'd been some time since my last visit to Bodega but I remembered it positively. On this most recent stop, while it was relatively unchanged, there did seem to be a somewhat ineffable sense of "whatever". Like a tire you'd let the air out of but the car as a whole remained driveable. The drinks have always been a highlight and while I will say they were still a high above average this time around, there didn't seem to be anything new or particularly exciting. Which, again, is fine but I had somewhat expected them to remain competitive in an area that's growing and changing its cocktail culture all the time. Absolutely nothing offensive, what's there is still well beyond acceptable. The food however has definitely seen a minor, if still perceptible, downturn in quality, attention to detail or preparation. Honestly hard to pin down which it was but I suspect it was the attention aspect, which is not particularly shocking considering we were served fairly late in the evening. The guac and chips were mediocre but otherwise the rest was okay to fair. I stole one of my friends tacos which was oversauced but good. The staff were friendly and, I guess, attentive for us being there at the dregs of the night. Completely reasonable service. I did take note that they were wearing a uniform t-shirt that I found kind of baffling with a graphic of a medical mask and the phrase "no mas" printed alongside it with the years of the pandemic crossed off. I thought about it more than I usually think about a lame staff t-shirt at a taco joint and I couldn't figure if it were celebratory, sarcastic or a geniunely anti-mask sentiment but whatever the tone, it's a super weird message to force your restaurant staff to wear on their bodies in a foodservice establishment. I don't care what the politics of the taco bar are. I concede this may have just been an off night but comparing this experience to those prior, as well as it seeming like everybody around us was getting the same vibe. I think it's just gotten a little dusty but it's still definitely more of a B- than a C. read more
