Tried the tattooed pig for the first time. I can only comment on the food since I ordered from Uber eats. The portions are a good size. I didn't know this before ordering and ended up ordering enough food for a small army. I had the empanadas (good), jalapeño poppers (good) and the Philly-rrito (my favorite thing out of everything ordered). I could only eat half of the burrito because it was so big. We tried The Tattooed Pig on a Friday evening- 7 pm, prime restaurant time. This funky little spot in an Aston strip mall was empty, but I'm going to attribute that to take-out because the food was amazing. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. If we'd had a couple more people with us we might have been able to eat it all. My husband was especially crazy about his burger. They have an extensive and imaginative burger menu. Tony ordered the Squealer. It was a cheeseburger with bacon, pulled pork and apple slaw. I had a bite so I can confirm it was freakin fantastic. The empanadas are huge and delicious. The plantains are perfect. The Mac n cheese was delicious. I have no doubt everything else on the menu is freakin great too, we'll find out because we'll definitely be back. read more

Hopelessly in love with the food here at the Tattooed Pig! I fell in love with their cheesesteak empanadas back when they only had a food truck. We've been going here since it was opened a storefront as The Plum Bistro a couple of years back. Recently, they rebranded themselves and changed their menu (but kept their best selling items). They make their own nacho chips which you can buy in a bag (they're worth what they charge for them, trust me). I definitely recommend you give them a try. Warning: This is NOT fast food, but that's okay; it's worth the wait. Tip: Eat in. This place is a BYOB. There's a beer outlet in the same shopping center. Get an adult slushy to have with your food. Aston is a small town devoid of many appetizing lunch spots. Until Plum, my choices have been limited to pizza, fast food, Primo Hoagies, the Giant salad bar or Poppy's (no regrets with Poppy's, they are wonderful!) My boss and I decided to try Plum's takeout today. The place is quaint, with bright purple tones and a penny laden counter. The friendly owners were working as well as their adorable daughter who was busy making macaroni and cheese. We tried the Squealer, Mutha Clucka, macaroni and cheese and housemade brownies. Both sandwiches were piled high on hoagie buns. The meat was smoky and paired well with the fresh tartness of apple slaw. I loved the spicy jerk sauce with the Mutha Clucka. My suggestion to the owners would be to serve it sliced in half, because it's a monster to handle. I wasn't a fan of the fries on top, but after removal my sandwich was amazing! The macaroni and cheese is everything it should be; creamy cheesy goodness, decadent and seasoned with a blend of herbs and spices. I ordered online at 7:10pm hoping to avoid a long wait for 3 items. I arrived and paid by 7:30, waited for another 35mins for my order to be completed. I wasn't sure what was taking so long for a chicken Quesadilla, South west salad and Tattooed pig burrito. Well let me tell you what took so long. 1-My food wasn't even started when I ordered it. They started 20mins later. 2-They make one item at a time. 3- The white guy wore gloves half the time he handled the food. I watched him wipe sweat off his face, scratch his face then stick the same hand in the shredded cheese bucket. 4-That staff would rather chat and joke with each other rather than cook. The staff also seems confused about what goes in each item. My chicken quesadilla was made with pork. My kids wouldn't touch it, it didn't look very appetizing and was falling apart. So in the trash it went, -$10 My Tattooed Pig burrito was stuffed to the brim and 2 tortillas wasn't enough to hold in the goods in. I recommend a 3rd one or take small amount of meat or fries out so it can be closed. Burritos are supposed to be eaten on the go, all that burrito did was go on my lap. I ordered online. After almost an hour, I had to call to find a status because the status never updated. They didn't realize the order was for delivery. We finally received the food and it was cold. It did not taste good. The nachos were soggy; queso was horrible and had that hardened "skin" top that happens after it sits out. The tacos were mostly just meat and tortilla. Food is great, moderately priced. We spent about $15 on a lunch meal per person. Also the service is friendly but was a bit slow today. It took over 20 minutes to get our order of 6 shrimp tacos and a sandwich.( We were the only people in the place). We did also try the food truck and they were a bit quicker. Overall you should give it a try. The food is a nice addition to the usual Aston options, and we will definitely be going back. read more

Went to the grand opening - this is a new restaurant by the same guy who has the Plum Pit food truck, which you can find in Delaware and Pennsylvania. The food here is amazing. Definitely try the fries and the lil Chris sandwich (homemade macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers, bacon, bbq sauce) = heaven in multiple bites. We gave this place a few chances. First time hair was in the food and the cashier was not friendly at all, bordeline rude. Food was solid.

If there was ever a reason that Yelp should bend the rules and allow for 6 out of 5 stars, this spot would justify it! We stumbled on The Tattooed Pig. It's in a completely unassuming, almost invisible little shopping center, tucked off to the side. But from the moment you see the designs on the food trucks and branding on the storefront, it starts to click that these guys aren't f***ing around. It's a small seating area, but enough for a handful of families to sit cozily. The decor, art on the walls, and photos of what I assume are friends and family tell you that they're passionate about what they do, but also would never be constrained to any box. Sometimes people get too broad and lose focus and make lots of things poorly. But that is NOT The case here. Whether you go with the fried chicken, a specialty burrito, or pulled pork, it's easy to connect the dots and appreciate a consistent commitment to quality, flavor, and presentation. We will be coming back often. Oh...and the servings are very generous, order light or bring a big appetite. read more

We happened to be in the area and found this quirky purple-walled eatery via a Yelp search for nearby eateries. We visited on Sunday, when the brunch menu (only) is featured. Their 3-egg specials were a bit too gargantuan for us, so we plucked a short stack of pancakes, a waffle, and an order of sausage, reporting our choices at the register. To our delight, the pancakes and waffle were among the best we have ever tasted. They were fluffy and dense with just the right balance of sweetness. The sausages were of exceptional quality, too. Brunch day meant that complimentary mimosas or mock mimosas and some lovely fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries today) accompanied our choices. Coffee is self-serve from a pod-style brewer, in a colorful mug of one's choice or paper, guaranteeing a fresh cup every time. The pancake and waffle were so good that we took our leftovers home. Some items are really good but others are just too bland. The portion size is amazing and a couple of the items such as the nachos are delicious. However, everything has an unfinished taste to it in regards to the flavor. Doesn't seemed very seasoned and some things like the burritos can be a little dry depending on which you get. I was very excited about trying this place! They put fries in their burritos, so they must know what's up!, I thought. The staff were nice. That's why I gave two stars. And the shakes looked great. The decor was cool, too. I ordered a burrito. The black beans tasted like salt. There was almost zero pico de gallo, and the one hint of guacamole I found reminded me of the gross packaged stuff from the grocery store. The street tacos we got were dry and flavorless. Went to pick up brunch from here this weekend and the food was really good. Picked up their French Toast, the Biscuits and Gravy, breakfast burrito and their Chicken and waffles. Everything was delicious but 50 minutes for take out is a little rough (thus the 4 stars instead of 5). The staff was very friendly and apologetic about the wait. Will be back and hopefully it was just an anomaly. Only other complaint was about the gravy with the biscuits and gravy. Perhaps I have been spoiled my whole life but normally biscuits and gravy implies sausage gravy which this gravy was not. Stopped today on my lunch hour with a co-worker, each of us ordering a burrito and a drink. Seeing as we only had an hour, I figured burritos were pretty standard and a fast turn around. I was wrong. 30 minutes after placing orders, we had to ask for our only nearly completed orders to be wrapped to-go so we could head back to the office. Maybe it was a bad day. There was one large, multiple bag order I saw that went out before us, but there were just as many people behind the counter prepping as there were customers (6) and orders were just not coming out in a timely manner. Based on the food - I had the Bob Marley burrito - I'll give them another try. The plantains and the jerk sauce were both pleasant surprises in the burrito, bringing in some sweet and heat to go with the already tasty smoked chicken, rice and beans. The burrito itself fell apart pretty quickly while handling it, but that may have been due in part to the rush to get it out the door and the drive back to the office. This used to be a place I went to weekly, but no longer. The owner is rude and doesn't understand how to treat customers. They have great food, but the service is severely lacking. I ordered my take out order at 9:35am and there were a total of 3 customers eating at that time. I came back at 10:10 and the order wasn't ready. Waited about 10 mins and I asked about my order, and it wasn't even started. Another 10 mins went by and it still wasn't done. Then when I asked about the order again, I was told "it's Mother's Day" and that I was "entitled". Not exactly sure why I was called entitled, maybe because I expected to get my food in a timely manner and not having to wait an hour? I guess they don't care about people who get take out. I've told many people about this place and how great they were, but now I'll be spreading the word about how poorly they treat good customers. read more

Before diving in and trying one of their unique burritos i decided to go with a more common variety, pulled pork. It was listed as having rice, beans, cheese.. The staples..
