Mac n cheese.

The Tavern is my kind of place: dark, moody, elevated, and with amazing service. I had the pleasure of visiting here for a late night meal on my most recent trip to Tulsa, and enjoyed a lovely, extra-dirty vodka martini while awaiting a dish of what was possibly the best mac & cheese I've ever tried. I like to sit at the bar when I'm traveling solo, and the vibe was perfect. Add in a friendly bartender, super fresh house salad, and decent prices and it was the perfect end to my last evening in town. Highly recommend adding this to your Tulsa bucket list!

Made a visit to The Tavern during graduation weekend! We made a reservation for a party of 9, our table was ready when we arrived, and the hostess was very welcoming. Our waitress greeted us and offered drinks while we waited for the remainder of our guests. The stars of this dinner were the tikka masala hummus and shrimp dip appetizers! The hummus was seasoned with curry and other spices *chefs kiss! You know it's good when 2 guests said they don't like hummus, tried it, and we're fighting for the last spoonful! The shrimp dip is served hot w/ toast bites and all I can say is we should've ordered 2 servings of both appetizers. For entrees most of us ordered the tavern burger, steak, and fish of the day. The only little concern was the entrees came out lukewarm and my hamburger bun was cold; not a deterrent to return again. They do change their menu each season so if you really enjoy a menu item make sure to order more to bring home and enjoy!

The Tikka Hummus and that pita... I'll dream about it forever. It was so good!! Everything we got was delicious aside from the fries. They were just okay. But the gravy was amazing with the Fried Chicken. Overall, great option for food.

Very unique and great tasting burger. Lunch time, seated quickly with fast and friendly service.

Great birthday dinner with The Breakfast Club! I had the Tavern burger (tip: get additional mushroom sauce for your fries!). He had the fish and chips which he said was the best in Tulsa. He ranks 1) The Taven, 2) Bishop Quigley and 3) Kilkenny's for Fish and Chips but you can't go wrong with any of the three. Great gathering place with a robust happy hour crowd and always reliable great service.

We sat at the bar for an early dinner on First Friday. Service was amazing (as always). I do wish they had a pitcher option for those Bengali Gimlets. Oh, my! Confession: I have never had the Tavern burger. Literally every time we're here I vow to order it and then get a kale salad or pasta. I finally did it and it was great. I think the frites have changed a bit but are still good. They have switched over to the spring menu so some things have changed. This place is always a great and consistent option in the Arts District!

I came to this lovely local haunt late on a Saturday night because I know their kitchen stays open until 1 am (I was here at 10pm, but it's good to know your options). The bartenders were both attentive. I ordered the Caribbean moon which was lovely and packed a bit of a punch (fair warning ) and the late night half price burger.

One of my favorite and most consistent spots in Tulsa Open late! Checkout their 1/2 off burger special after 9 pm I like to sub the fries for Brussels sprouts

The staff here were cool. Our waitress was a doll but the food wasn't great and we are visiting so we wanted to love it based on Yelp reviews. The kale Caesar wasn't a kale salad, not sure what greens were used, but it definitely wasn't any kale greens I know, I'm from the west coast. The dressing was so overpowering, I couldn't even eat it all. Too much salad dressing! Mac N Cheese was too spicy for our taste . Great portion and if you are cool with spicy stuff you will enjoy it. It's a great place, classy for sure but I will try it again and order different things.

First time at the tavern for lunch. The food was just okay! I had the chicken fried steak and split the Mac and cheese. The presentation of the chicken fried steak was great but the overall taste was a little underwhelming, the meat was a little tough. But the mac and cheese was pretty good, a bit spicy but overall would definitely have the Mac and cheese again.

So nice I went twice...in one week. First up was brunch with my mom, which was excellent. Our server was so fun and super attentive. We shared the Bacon Popcorn (because duh). She got the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque, which she loved. I'm a bit of an Avocado Toast connoisseur, so I could resist. Theirs was delicious, and it was the perfect portion size. Next up was a pre-dinner drink and snack with my husband. The bartender recommended the Tikka Masala Hummus, and it was honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. So many flavors that work perfectly together. For cocktails, I got the Fall Forward, which was like a much better version of a margarita. And my husband got the Bacon-Infused Old Fashioned, which was killer! We've been before, and we'll be back!

It was time for a late lunch and the tavern seemed like a good option. Our server gave us good suggestions. I had the fish and chips which was a large piece of fish, very crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The dining room is well kept and comfortable. This is a good choice any time of day.

French Onion Soup

We had soup and the tavern burger. Both were excellent! We had a side of asparagus with the burger and it was excellent too! Service and Mood was great as well!

One drink was 18 dollars. Don't go here unless you are trying to spend 150-350 on two people

I ordered apricot iced tea, the vegan fried chicken sandwich, and pineapple upside-down cake. I don't normally like chicken sandwiches that much, but this was really good. And the highlight was getting to choose any of the salads on the menu as the side salad that comes with it. I had the hearts of palm salad with vegan cheese instead of the usual parmesan. It was delicious! I also got to try the cauliflower wings and a bite of the Korean BBQ tofu sandwich. I liked that sandwich too, but not as much. I do like the way they fried the tofu, but it seemed different than what was described on the menu. It seemed just deep fried, but not battered. My only complaint is the layout of the building and the lack of directional signage. I didn't park in the parking lot, so I didn't know to enter from the back and I ended up on a long confusing walk both outside and inside the building before I finally reached the dining room.

Seated promptly without a reservation. Nice vibe, retro theme. Tyler, our server was wonderfully engaging, made good food recommendations, really appeared to be a good human, and made a good meal better ... Salmon cakes appetizer were a nice start, the salads were memorable -- fresh and refreshing -- and my crusted salmon was a completely satisfying entree and I loved the crunch (good portion size, great sauce, and accompaniments). And, Tyler made a great pot of coffee ... strong, rich flavor. I thought it was excellent value. Thanks Tyler!

I really wish I remembered the drink I had the first time around, what I do remember is that it was really good. The drink I had recently was the Don Diego de La Ve & it's something I'd get again + would be my usual. Anything tequila, it's automatic (rum is right there at a very close 2nd) when it comes to an alcohol beverage + cocktail. Has addition of ancho reyes, a chile liqueur, that's super subtle in the drink along with lemon lime & agave. My homie looked at my drink & said that's something he should've ordered. *Side Note* I took a look at the menu & I'm convinced I had the Cousin Eddie (when I first visited this place). As I stated that rum is a close 2nd to tequila & the Cousin Eddie has Bumbu (rum) that I already enjoy on its own.

We started off with cocktails and both were fantastic. We hit the flow state with fries and the Caesar salad and immediately yes to both. For 7 bucks you get a ton of fries and the Caesar was the perfect touch. We paired these two items with their Savy Blanc and it was crispy and refreshing. Moving on to the mains, the burger (dare I say) might give Tina's a run for their money. It was cooked perfectly and with all the elements of a perfect smash burger. The salmon was fantastic but my greedy self wished it was bigger cause it was that good. As a whole, vintage wine bar is becoming one of my favorite spots in Tulsa. Service was friendly and knowledgeable when engaged, but at times it took a bit longer to get attention than expected.
