    High tea tower

I've lived locally for 10+ years and this is my first visit to the Teapot on Wheels. What a hidden gem this place is! I took my mom for a Mother's Day outing and it certainly did not disappoint. The tea selection is wide. The food and treats are all so amazing and the service is so catering! It's very vintage feeling on the inside. Make it an experience and dress up. Also, I recommend making reservations.

High Tea Service. Limited Seatings. *Reservation Required (24hrs) = $30 per person.

According to the internet... a "proper British afternoon tea -- a luxurious spread of dainty cucumber sandwiches, warm scones with jam and clotted cream, and a cake stand filled with an array of gorgeous miniature tarts, chocolate profiteroles, and other sweet treats." High Tea here at the Tea Pot is EXACTLY THIS *Except: the food isn't warm or cold. Understandably, everything is planned/prepared well ahead of time to avoid food waste *def not prepared the morning of* High Tea has limited seating during limited days/times with AT LEAST 24 hrs advance notice. RESERVATIONS FOR HIGH TEA are REQUIRED. High Tea seating days/times are currently: Wed & Th: 11am & 1:30pm Friday & Saturday: 11am, 1:30pm, 4pm High Tea is $30 per person with a set menu consisting of 3 fractional sandwiches (lower tier), 2 mini housemade scones + cloted cream/flavored curds (middle tier) and A savory and A sweet dessert (top tier of the tower of goodness) per Person. High Tea includes unlimited coffee, tea(s). They provide a small booklet with a variety of loose leaf teas to choose from. It's not a "tea house" per se, but a great authentic British Tea Service with lots of choices. I like that you can try as many teas as you want during your sitting (1.5hrs). One pot is "eh", then your next little pot you can choose something completely different *it's actually encouraged* :D The table service is outstanding! Our server was EXTREMELY patient, upbeat and a dare say a little cheeky which was a lot of fun for an outting with my Mom for an early afternoon outing *YAY* Pros: -Outstanding Service!!! -UNIQUE Foodie Experience -Good Gift Idea for Mom/Grandma who has everything -Nice view from most of the tables and comfortable seats -LOCAL Business Cons (mostly due to our lack of research): -We weren't aware of the VERY set menu (not updated online) and did not make specific requests ahead of time regarding food adversions (cucumber sandwich, mom just would not try it). NO SUBSTITUTIONS or accomodations the day of due to limited small batch preparations the night before :/ -NOT a replacement for Breakfast, Lunch or Brunch. It is a tea service with MOSTLY sweet treats *good to know* -Regular lunch menu has been paired down considerably; LIMITED menu. Check ahead to avoid dissappointment of them no longer serving your go-to Favorites from before.

What a pleasant surprise! We stumbled upon The Teapot on Wheels and had excellent tea, clam chowder and scrumptious dessert! They told us reservations a must though! ( we happened to walk in on a quiet day )

I called in around 9am to make a reservation and Wendi (the Owner) gladly took us same day for a 12:30pm slot. I told her my boyfriend has some food restrictions like he doesn't like mayo so she was able to make some sandwiches without it. She asked if we want the Princess tea ($35 per head) or the Queen tea ($40 per head) so we chose the Princess set. An hour later we arrived to the The Painted Lady Tea house! Mostly street parking but it's not busy so it was easy to park in front the house. The house entrance had two doors but for some reason the first door you see is locked so you enter the right door side as their entrance. The ambiance of the place was super pretty like each section of the house had different themes. Wendi greeted us and said we can sit anywhere in the house. There was two other groups that was dining and noticed they were wearing cool hats so my boyfriend chose to wear a Jester hat and I chose to wear a frilly flower hat. I saw one group eating the Queen tea set so I asked Wendi if we can change our meal plan to that instead and she was able to make the last minute change. We chose to sit in the green room because it was very earthy, decorated with plants, and had small water fountains. Here is what's inside the modified Queen tea set meal: Appetizer -2x Ginger scone -2x Lemon scone -English Tea -Side of sugar cubes -Side of creamer Entree -Croissant sandwich (Ham, cheese, tomato, leafy greens, mustard, mayo) -Egg sandwich -Curry chicken salad sandwich -6x cucumber cream cheese sandwiches *no mayo* -2x crusted egg quiche -Green grapes -Chocolate dipped tangerines -2x Chocolate crunchy dipped strawberries -2x Chocolate drizzled strawberries Dessert -2x Strawberry ice cream cake -2x Oreo cheesecake My boyfriend got a whole Croissant sandwich since the other sandwiches contained mayo. He ended up not liking it because he didn't know there was mustard in it so he just wiped it off and didn't want to ask for a new one. Most tea places I've been don't usually add mustard into their sandwiches so maybe next time I should've said no sauces or all sauces on the side. Their website menu didn't have any details of the sandwiches, it was very vague. I'm kind of sad he wasn't able to enjoy the other sandwiches with me so I wish there was more no sauce sandwich options or self serve sauces in the future but that's what I get for dating a picky boyfriend lol. I really enjoyed everything and loved the decor of the house! But I felt like the menu had too many sweets. I would be fine with just the scones, dipped strawberries, grapes, and oreo cheesecake but the extra dipped tangerine and strawberry ice cream cake were too much. Maybe I suggest make the strawberry ice cream cake and oreo cheesecake to be bite sized. It would be nice if there was a good ratio of savory like maybe add chips, soup, cheese cubes, or other charcuterie board savory snacks. I still recommend this place! Great place to bring your family and friends to enjoy for a fancy stop over from a long days road trip :)

I have so many great memories of this place during the 12 years that my husband and I have lived here. I remember driving into Ashland in the middle of a snowstorm because I had an appointment with my yoga teacher and I do NOT cancel on her. After we finished yoga, I decided to pop in to Dobra tea and get a hot mushroom latte. I sat at one of the tables in the front room looking out at the snow falling. Almost no one was out and it was like being in the middle of a snow globe with a warm cup in my hand. Another time I was there with a friend for lunch. He ordered their avocado toast with egg, which I had never ordered before. He insisted I take a bite, which I graciously agreed to do. The flavors were so exquisite that it immediately became one of my many favorite things to order at Dobra. I learned they make their own English muffins, which is the "toast". Wow!!!!!! So many lovely memories here -- and I expect to co-create MANY more. Thank you for being so exceptional at what you do!
