I did go to the TPOW several months ago, December. As much as I enjoyed several trips to this place with the previous owners, my experience this time was a little lacking. I would really like to encourage the new owners not to change the menu too much. The food was good, but the final dessert was not what I expected especially during the Christmas season. Went about 2 year ago and loved it. Everything was great, food, service and atmosphere. Went again today 12/13/25. Was very disappointed. We were seated in the corner with an odd seating arrangement. Service was very slow. The food was not great. Very small salad, scones were dry, sandwiches were ok, meatballs appeared to have been sitting around for awhile. Atmosphere was cold , all the things associated with a tea house were gone. I know there are new owners and they want to do things their way . What I don't understand is changing the business so much. We won't be going back and will not recommend it to others read more

I've lived locally for 10+ years and this is my first visit to the Teapot on Wheels. What a hidden gem this place is! I took my mom for a Mother's Day outing and it certainly did not disappoint. The tea selection is wide. The food and treats are all so amazing and the service is so catering! It's very vintage feeling on the inside. Make it an experience and dress up. Charming tea room that appears to pull in a great many customers. We had a delicious smoky tea called Victorian Afternoon. I do not eat refined carbs so I was a bit disappointed in theQueen's Tea or perhaps they call it High Tea. It was carb intensive so I spent $30 and ate practically nothing. I drank several cups of tea from the bottomless teapot, which was quite wonderful. I ate two olives, the sausage from two sausage rolls with the majority of the breading removed, two delicious thin slices of something with cheese and fruit in a wrap, the wonderful chicken salad from the inside of a croissant, which I discarded -- and my appetite was satisfied. For what I actually consumed $30 was a bit expensive. We were kept to a strict two hour time period when the lady that owns the place made it clear that it was time for us to pay our bill and leave. I actually prefer Lovejoy's Tea Room in downtown Ashland as a more classic Tea Room with a wider assortment of food that is NOT refined carbohydrate intensive. In addition, Mua, the owner does not hurry customers out. Her assortment of tea is also quite delicious. It is nice to have two different tea rooms widely spaced out in the Rogue River Valley. If you enjoy a lot of refined carbohydrates, it is quite likely you will enjoy this Tea Room. read more

I have been a patron for many years, visiting from California multiple times a year. Knowing there are new owners, I called last week to see if I can order some scone for pickup for my birthday (as I always have one in the past). We scheduled the day and time for pickup. When I went to pick up yesterday, they were not there. I sat for a bit, waiting, called and left a voicemail and still haven't heard from them. No apology, no response. This has been such a great establishment for so long. I hope you read this and can get back on track. I want to continue supporting but that was rude and wasteful of my time. read more

I am a new customer and ordered tea in September 2025. My payment was processed and I still don't have my tea. I have called 3 or 4 times, left the order number and still no tea. I have loved the food and atmosphere at Teapot on Wheels for years. But it has changed with the new owners. I am leaving this review in hopes they can up their game and be hugely successful in this new venture. Ambiance...too much white and no charm. Every table but 1 was available and they sat us where one of us had to face the wall. Food...average at best. We were served pasta salad to begin, then macaroni and cheese as our "savory" I guess. Tea was very weak and had no distinct flavor. Service...had to ask for cream. Owners were running around with their baby on their hip. I love babies, but doesn't seem very sanitary to be working while holding your baby. Cost...has gone from $30 to $35. Not bad if you are getting a unique and memorable experience. The first thing my friend said as we left was "I don't think I will be back." And this has been a special place for us. I had to agree. I do wish the new owners the best and hope I will hear rave reviews as they get more attuned to the new venture. I would love to come back if I hear great things! read more

I have done business with The Teapot on Wheels for many years and it has always been a positive experience. However, there are new owners now and my recent experience was awful. I buy tea from them and have it shipped. When I ordered tea recently, I had not received it in over two weeks from when I ordered (in the past I always received it within a week.) When I called the store, I was given one story after another during my several phone calls (we shipped it USPS, we shipped it UPS, we can ship a partial amount and give you a refund.) Well, after a month, still no tea or refund and they did not answer my calls the last three times I called. I will not do business with them again. read more

I was a little concerned about eating out in the tents because Of the cold but it was comfortable and warm enough. Staff was friendly and the food was great! My sister and I was here on 11/12/20 at 9:30 am. Although we were the only customers we still had a great time. We enjoyed their traditional High Tea that was excellent and so reasonable for the amount of sandwiches, scones, desserts and endless tea. Everything was very fresh! Janice was wonderful, she provided excellent service! We were able to take our leftovers home. We were so fortunate to enjoy this place before the Covid temporary closure. Our wedding was held at Teapot on Wheels. Though the grounds are beautiful, the owners run the show. Our DJ was forced to stop music early and the reception was cut too short. Some of our items the owners commented on admiring went missing and suspiciously so. If you are a tea drinker you have to stop here, as they have a outstanding hot tea menu; Mary, our server was very knowledgeable and great at helping to pick the perfect cup. The food is good as well, the crepes are our favorite, the chowder is gluten free (unless you put crackers in it) and very good. The plates are all full with large portions. Closed on Sunday so they can go to church and it's a breakfast and lunch place with views of the river with the leaves changing. We heard of this restaurant by word of mouth at the Del Rio Wine Tasting Room. One of the others tasting great wines raved about this place. So our first trip was excellent experience and it's been a year until we were back in town, eager for a revisit. Where to start?? The tea is extensive and delicious. I had tried several and they were all delicious. If you order hot tea it comes in a little individual pot with a cozy to keep it warm. They also have a little timer to let you know when your tea is done steeping. I am super picky with baked goods and these scones are amazing. Oh my goodness. And the clotted cream and the lemon curd, divine. High tea gives you a great sample of delicious tea sandwiches and scones. We have also gone to the main dining room which isn't upscale but a down home feel. It's on a beautiful piece of property so sit by the window and look out over the river. The service is always amazing. If I could only get one thing my heart belongs to the sticky pudding. Oh my!!!! The only menu item that didn't really win us over was the chile verde burrito. There are a few options outside the regular tea house option because of their cultural backgrounds but this was way too mild for our taste. Two February's ago, I was having High Tea at the Met in NYC. It was soooo expensive, and not exactly sublime. Flash forward to yesterday... what a wonderful dining utopia! The Little Teapot truly knows what they're doing -- and I have dined in many major cities across the US. Tucked just off I-5 between Grants Pass and Medford; nestled on a stunning parcel of land bordering the Rogue River. The food is not avant-garde. They aren't "reaching" in any way... but the experience is very well defined. Each item served was freshly prepared. My tastebuds know low-end ingredients, and speaking to the High Tea, I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely done it is. I chose a riverside corner table (opted not to sit in the Tea Room, but will include pics, it's adorable!). Like other Yelpers, I am particular about what and where I eat (I live thirty miles south of the Teapot in a culinary haven named Ashland). So, when I'm dining outside my hometown, I usually dial down expectations. Not necessary here. Don't envision over-the-top sophistication, this is Oregon countryside High Tea. It may sound like an oxymoron, but trust me, you will love it once you're on the premises. Unless, you don't like cream cheese... that's the main epicurean detail I'll let slip! Bring a table full of friends... Bon appétit. PS. High Tea is bottomless, and diners can choose a new varietal with each freshly filled pot, if they wish to do so. Oh! My 12-year-old daughter has her review below. They had a good variety of teas but they had more before. I got earl gray tea with milk and a little bit of honey and sugar. They did not give us a spoon but it was steeped in front of me with a cool timer. The timer was chill. Over all the tea was delectable. I got there just before closing and still got some scones. I got a plain one and an orange chocolate chip. The plain scone was flakey and light like an American biscuit. It was what I imagine an English person making an American scone would be. I enjoyed it. The orange chocolate scone was a burst of orange with first bite. It was a bomb of orangeness then some chocolate. All in all I enjoyed the scones quite a bite. The chicken fingers were fast-food like and maybe wilty in appearance. Maybe tasted better than fast food. The French fries were hot and good. The fried fish was authentic fish and chips but I have had better. I only had a bite of my dads. The service is just weird during COVID. We had paper plates and plastic silverware. No spoon with my tea. I said before. The lady waitress was very loquacious, which is one of my favorite words. My dad said it was a little expensive. Overall I would go back try the crepes. read more
