I have been on the search for the best cinnamon roll in town, so when I came across a reddit thread saying Roosters is the best, I had to try. They said you needed to get there early because they sell out fast. It was already 8:45am so I called just to make sure I wasn't too late. I read reviews. All I can say, there must've been new crew. The "Don't ruffle our feathers" sign should had been the first Red Flag about this place. Unfriendly female host/seater from the getgo. Also, a waitress with an attitude, rude; which didn't come back with our change, after saying "I will be back "! She also yelled from across the room, "Next time ask you want a cinnamon bun without glaze" There won't be a next time. She could have also asked if I wanted the bun glazed...common courtesy and common sense not evident here. By the way, cinnamon bun is generic, commercial taste, very disappointing I was going to give less that 3 stars, but Yelp won't allow to give lower than 3 star ratings. I tried several times. The waitress was very kind and nice and understanding. We did love her. It was the biscuits and gravy that was pretty awful. The gravy is white with some crumbles of sausage and I'm still trying to figure out what it taste like. It tasted like unflavored sage, if that's even a thing, but it was pretty awful. The biscuits on the other hand are amazing but not smothered in any of that gravy. The place is decorated in all roosters, which is very cute. it is older. I am but weary traveler seeking fuel for the journey to the next place and Roosters was on the docket for today. A very quaint small town diner and was greeted with cheer and kindness. There's a little art wall of children's drawings of roosters that I could help but examine as I awaited to be seated. I got the chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns. They asked me if I wanted toast or a freshly baked cinnamon roll, and that was a no brainer for anyone with half a brain. The cinnamon roll was like a warm hug. Fluffy like the clouds this morning and sweeter than the brightest of sun rays. The chicken fried steak was the best I've had in quite awhile. We really liked Rooster's. We were there on a weekday in the morning. Staff was attentive. The food came quick considering none of it is preprocessed. The food was great and healthy. We did have one of their cinnamon buns. They are as large as a dinner plate, covered with a thin frosting and a large spoon full of butter. The atmosphere is welcoming without being smothering. Quite possibly the best chicken fried steak I have ever had. There's a hint of rosemary; not sure if that was in the gravy or the breading. The breading was perfectly crisp without the steak being dry or overly done. The hash browns were also perfect, eggs were done just the way I asked. Very old school restaurant. Friendly people! We recently had the pleasure of eating at this amazing place this past weekend. We were in the Medford area and made it a point to visit the local restaurants. I noticed it the day before we actually ate here. I was getting gas across the street and thought "wow that place looks great ". So the next morning being our last day visiting Medford. I wanted a great breakfast before hitting the road. So I looked around on Yelp and there was Roosters. It had some good reviews and excellent pictures of their menu offerings. It just happened to be down the street from where we were staying. As we walked in we were greeted by Annette who happened to be the owner. Very nice lady. As you might guess by the name Rooster's. It is decorated throughout the restaurant with, you guessed it. Roosters! It is definitely a mom and pop establishment. It's a cozy place and the menu has some great options. I chose pancakes with an egg and bacon. We were served coffee as we waited and pondered our visit the past few days in the Medford area. We really loved Medford. My food arrived and it looked great and tasted even better. The pancakes were delicious as was the bacon. The coffee was also delicious. If we live here this would be a "go to " spot for sure. The owner Annette was a pleasure to talk to and her daughter was our cashier as we left. If you are in the area check this place out. We will definitely be back. read more

Great service and really good food! I always order eggs over medium when I eat out because my attempts are pathetic. The cook made them wonderfully! My mom really liked her biscuits and gravy, too. I've been in town all week for my first work trip in over a year, thanks to COVID. I decided to have breakfast at Rooster's on Monday because they opened earlier than any of the other restaurants near my hotel. So glad I did! I ended up eating breakfast there every day this week. Annette, the owner (and hosted and server!), is kind and welcoming. She knows all her regular customers by name, knows their favorites on the menu, and works hard to keep everyone happy. I started feeling like a regular after just two days too. The food is wonderful. Everything I had was delicious, but my hands down favorites are the cinnamon rolls and the veggie Benedict. The cinnamon rolls are huge, baked fresh every day, full of gooey cinnamon sugar and almost swimming in glaze. the best I've had in years. Annette and her staff are working so hard to feed their customers good food with great service while strictly following all COVID restrictions. They are doing a great job. Please support them. Ok so pulling into the parking lot of Rooster's we almost turned around and went somewhere else. Boy are we glad we didn't! Food was great, service was excellent, the ambiance was a little odd. There were Rooster's everywhere and it looked like an old Chinese restaurant with red carpet and very old booths. Everything seemed clean and the food came out fresh. I'm not understanding the multiple five star reviews. The only thing they have going for them is a plate sized cinnamon roll. We are out of towners and went here because it was the number one pick on yelp. However when we walked in the door I was terrified that I might get food poisoning. It was the filthiest, most rundown restaurant I've been to in years. Every single booth and table with chairs had upholstery with large holes in it, some duct taped together some just completely ignored. The tables were filthy. The drink center had nasty little fingerprints all over it that I could see from across the restaurant, the pie refrigerator was disgusting, clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. We did go ahead and order and the food was good. We got the biscuits and gravy and split it and skipped the coffee because we were worried we wouldn't get clean mugs. Stopped in this morning for breakfast as we are staying in the area. Had the #4 flat iron steak and eggs with hash browns. The steak was a perfect medium rare, the eggs were perfect with runny centers but whites that were cooked all the way through, and the hash browns were crispy. My Dad ordered the cinnamon roll with his breakfast and it could be a meal all by itself. Very tasty. Gosh I hate to leave bad reviews particularly for small independently owned businesses. Roosters used to be my go to breakfast while traveling through Medford. I've been a half a dozen times or more. Yesterday I went and it was closed with a sign saying staffing shortage (I guess that goes with the times). I went back this morning looking for my favorite breakfast treats it was sorely disappointed. I unfortunately think they have to cut costs but it's just not the same. The staff were new again goes with the times but they just didn't seem very happy campers. I ordered a ham scramble with cheddar and it came out small proportion and dry. I selected this place through Yelp, but was hesitant when I saw it from the outside. We decided to try it anyway. And are very glad we did. The inside was quaint, and the staff was cordial. I ordered the veggie scramble, with home fries and a cinnamon roll. I was thinking the roll would be small, since it came with the full breakfast, but it turned out to be a giant cinnamon roll, dripping with frosting and butter and tons of cinnamon inside. It's was one of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten. I had to leave half though, because the serving size of the scramble and home fries was pretty hardy and both were delicious. I made a comment to my Sister that I would go back there in a minute. Btw, she had eggs Benedict and commented that it was one of the best Benedicts she has ever eaten as well.
