Service is great and I love that they have walk-in seating available, that's uncommon for a gourmet restaurant. The Terrace is a cool spot that is new to the area since must trip to Kauai so I was happy to try a new place! It was dark when we went but the view would be great from the restaurant. Our server was nice and attentive and our food came quickly despite it looking pretty busy. I had the fish and chips and while the fries were good and very crispy, the fish was not super crispy. We originally had reservations at Tahiti Nui down the street but decided we wanted something different. We were all so glad we ended up here. The views are beautiful, we were welcomed with a rainbow and a super sweet waitress. They had lots of food choices and definitely something for everyone. Everything we ordered was just delicious but I will say their ceviche was the most memorable. All of the food was fresh and were a decent portion. There aren't many places in the Hanalei/Princevale area that are open later for dinner so we were glad this place stayed open past sunset. We ordered the bulgogi bowl and the seafood pasta. We had a nice lunch after a nearby hike. We sat near the open windows with a great view of the mountains. It felt like we were outside but no wind, sun or rain. We had the blackened mahi sandwich and the battered mahi sandwich and split them up. We both like the blackened better. Good spice level, substantial piece of fish and a nice slaw and sauce. The battered sandwich was a very small piece of fish and really had no flavor, although it was cooked nicely. They looked fried, but they were very soggy? It's not like it was sitting out because they weren't cold.. but maybe they just needed to be fried or air fried one more time before being served? - clams: unfortunately this was a big miss for us.. it smelled VERY seafood-y (not in a good way). I don't think the clams were fresh and because I'm pregnant, we wanted to be even more cautious but I told my husband not to eat them as well. Not an enormous restaurant and could see it getting crowded on the wrong day (we say immediately with a party of seven). I and three others had the tempura battered fish and chips (this time the restaurant used Mahi). Small portion (three small filets), but the taste and consistency made these the best fish and chips I have ever had (I would pay extra for a larger portion). My wife devoured her teriyaki chicken skewers as did my daughter with her teriyaki chicken fried rice bowl. The ginger salmon bowl and bulgogi bowl were enjoyed greatly. Excellent experience. I Had the chicken teriyaki yakitori as an app. The teriyaki sauce was excellent and with just the right amount of sweetness without being cloying. I also had the poke bowl. I will admit that I am no expert on poke. The ahi, avocado and the rest of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Others at the table had the crab cakes (very good), the New Zealand clams In the garlic wine sauce ( excellent) and half the Terrace salad with shrimp ( also excellent).
