The meat was tender and not fatty, perfect amount of cheese and sauce. Loved the marbled bread. The fries were ok but nothing special or memorable. They are fries. I asked my server for their opinion on a few drinks and they said go with the bad blood tini. It was seriously dangerous.....light, refreshing, icy cold, and damn delicious! Highly recommend it! Saturday afternoon stop in on my way through. Couldn't pass up a pub named Thirsty Beaver as it had me intrigued! Service was friendly and professional, unfortunately they were out of the first two local drafts I asked for and simply asked what is available as the list continued to grow with what wasn't on tap. Atmosphere is sporty/relaxed with average noise level, tunes playing and number of TVs with sports on. Able to hold a conversation with no issues. There is outdoor seating and pool to play should you desire. There are a number of weekly specials to enjoy as well. Monday $3 drafts, Tuesday 1/2 off wings/tenders, Wednesday DJ Trivia and $8 margaritas, Thursday karaoke $8 Tito martinis and Friday $12 3 shot specialty flights. I grabbed some big axe wings campfire style split between Buffalo honey mustard and sweet chili for the sauces. Was ten wings total decent size and out quickly, albeit there were only a few other customers present as well. One of your general run of the mill highway stops. My experience here was very good, the service was great and the food was very good. Our server was very kind, we ended up staying until closing and she didn't rush us. The burger I ordered, the ole Smokey, was as incredibly juicy and tender. The jalapeño on the burger added a nice kick. Their fries are also incredible. The atmosphere is similar to that of a Cracker Barrel, the best way to describe it is a sort of southern cabin style. Meh. We arrived at 6pm on a summer Friday night and 90% of the tables were empty. Our experience explained why that might be. Inattentive service, long wait for food despite only 2 other tables ordering, 7 minute wait for tartar sauce that didn't come out with the fish and chips, asked for our check before we finished eating and no one came back to pick it up, so we just left it on the table and walked out. I ordered a supreme sprout salad for take out on a Saturday evening. It was supposed to come with blue cheese, cranberries, crispy chicken peas, shaved Brussel sprouts and a few other things. When the salad arrived it had about 4 chick peas from a can,2 pieces of Brussel sprout and was missing most of the salad. I called back and was offered another salad. This one was still missing many of the ingredients, though it did have salad dressing this time. Both salads were the size of a small side salad and missing most of the ingredients listed. Ate here with 4 other friends, went in for lunch around 1:30p and it was not busy at all. We went here because the Cranston location is awesome. We were greeted and seated right away. There were approximately 4-5 other tables with approximately 3-4 guests at them. We reviewed the menus and ordered our drinks, all soft drinks came but the one beer we ordered took over 15 minutes. The bar was not full and had approximately 8 guests eating and drinking. The bartender did not appear overwhelmed and we saw him make some kind of shake for himself before pouring the beer we ordered. We asked the server twice why the beer was taking so long, she explained she could not pour the beer and the bartender gets side tracked by talking too much. We placed our order and the appetizers (regular nachos & fried pickles) took about 25 minutes. The fried pickles were lukewarm and the nachos were okay. All of our food came out about 12-15 mins laters and the food orders were correct and hot. If our family didn't love karaoke, this would be a one star review. We were on vacation in the area and came for $8 martini and karaoke Thursday, called four hours before to confirm our reservation for 20 people. We got there and didn't receive any menus, waited 20 minutes for gross drinks and lukewarm beer, and were told "the bar was backed up" (there were four tables occupied). Our waitress was extremely unpleasant, telling our table to "deal with the wrong order or wait another 45 minutes for food." Oh, and let's not forget the fact that there was NO LETTUCE OR ANY GREENS. The place inside was quite loud with music blaring, crowd noise, and TVs on, bar area and dining areas all in the same open space. The place has the atmosphere of a rustic roadhouse sports bar. They offer a full beer, wine, and mixed drinks menu with plenty of beers on tap. The food menu offers pub fare including sandwiches, burgers, comfort dishes, pizzas, wings, appetizers, salads, and cold drinks. The prices at this location seem reasonable. I decided to head up to the bar and sat down at an open chair since I was by myself. I was immediately offered a drink (got an ice water) and given a food menu as requested. I ordered the Misquamicut Reel ($12 plus tax) which was a crispy beer battered fish sandwich, topped with greens, pickled red onions cilantro aioli on a toasted brioche roll, served with choice of side (I got the French fries). The sandwich was a good sized and the beer batter was deep fried golden and thick. The golden fries were salted and crisp. I did request tartar sauce for my sandwich and there was already ketchup, mustard and malt vinegar at the bar. I was given a box upon request for some the food and given the check for $12.96 with tax and before tip. Good menu with a few vegan options to go along with their take on some common American food. I had the wings camp style, which were tasty and well cooked. My first visit to the Beav, yes, I coined this nickname, as we felt right at home from the moment we stepped inside. We had the pleasure of having Jane as our server. You have all heard of an Old Salt, well Jane is the definition of an Old Salt in the hospitality industry. This is not an insult to Jane, just the opposite. Clearly, she has been doing this for a long time, and any server could benefit from her knowledge and experience. We found her to be attentive, fast, and hysterical. Her humor made my husband laugh, which is no easy task, lol. We started with Big Axe Wings, and with a variety of sauces to choose from, we opted for the buffalo honey mustard. We had them fried then girlled as this was another option. They were amazing. The reuben was my husband's top choice, but they were out. He has been here once before, and says it is the best reuben he has ever had. It's not surprising that they ran out of this popular choice. The Alabama Slamma was his 2nd choice and he was very pleased with it. I chose the Lumberjack Steak, the hoagie rolls were so soft and fresh, the shaved steak with caramelized onions and cheese was so delicious that I want to go back right now. You get the usual selection of fries, salads, and so on. For the price, the portions are very generous. I noticed they had a pup patio wherepatrons enjoyed a beautiful sunny day with their pups. I love places that allow outdoor dining, and especially places that have an area for our furry friends. We were seated next to a garage door constructed out of windows that occupied most of the wall, giving the interior a unique look. There are no booths, only tables, but they are spaced far enough apart so you don't feel crowded. We met my daughter for lunch there one Tuesday at 12:30p. There were only a few other people scattered about and the bartender waited on us. My husband ordered his usual, fish and chips, my daughter had the buffalo chicken salad, and I had the Brussel sprouts app and a small Ceasar salad. Let's start there. It was awful. I'm sure it was bottled dressing, but they should not have bought another after the first bottle was used! Choose another brand! The Brussels weren't awful but they weren't great. The food is very good! Very fresh! The burgers looked great and so did the pizza and tables that had them left nothing on their plates! Prices are very good for the quality of food you get ! My husband had the fish and chips and the haddock was so very fresh ! I had a salad that was excellent! The pub is informal and relaxing ! Our waitress Molly was a delight - so friendly and welcoming! And she took great care of us ! As they stay open a better sound system is needed. And please wash the windows and clean up the outside walkway they detract from being a great new spot on Post Rd. The burger I got was good my other friend got the appetizer brussels sprouts for her lunch she loved it my other friend order the garlic Alfredo pizza thing and the waitress didn't put pizza down but put in pasta. So they had to start from scratch and make her pizza while we had our food. She said the pizza was fine, but she was disappointed. In the fact that you know she said pizza and it was put in as pasta. We all were very polite and nice because of that issue but you would think they would've Comped at least one of the appetizers for the inconvenience because she basically had a few bites and put it in a box cause we were all done.
