Jalapeño poppers and cauliflower bites
Ally S.

Aside from the buy one get one free appys, this place doesn't have much to offer. The service isn't that great... pretty slow. The food itself was fine; I got the cauliflower bites and jalapeño poppers which were fine. Nothing that made them stand out from other places. If you're looking for a place to order a ton of appys for cheap for the table and share among everyone, and expect satisfactory service, this place is for you!

Drinks are awesome. I had lots of food, pretty normal in the pub. Happy hour was fun! Lots of choices and the deal was 2 for 1. Sweet. I had jalapeño poppers, crab poppers, chips/nachos , chicken wrap .The service was good very friendly. The ambiance was " family or friends get together " mode. They have private parking

One of the go-to places for having a drink in New West, if you don't mind going up the hill. Parking is available on the side streets. The interior is a bit narrow, but they have pool table, and a couple of TVs for watching the game. This establishment is a neighbourhood pub indeed. I didn't have the $6 burger and beer combo, but my friends did. Just by looking at it (and discussing with my friends), the burger is definitely on the small side. I would say it is smaller than a McDonald's hamburger. The patty is smaller than the bun. My friends said it tasted fine though, if you can overlook the small patty. I tried the fries and they were decent and crisp.

Specials everywhere everyday

Atmosphere: Dive Bar with Character This place is a dying breed. Loud rock music, regulars screaming to each other, friendly sassy waitresses, daily cheap specials, gambling, multiple sports playing for free, pool tables, pull tabs, keno ...and what brought us i : 50 cent wings. We love this place . The people are friendly, the wings are actually really juicy (not those puny little wings that are all bone )... served hot and lots of sauce with dip. The waitresses are friendly and keep their eyes on your drink but otherwise leave you alone. After covid, you sign in with your phone number and use hand santizer but no masks to be seen which is fine by us. Us and our friends love this place. Be prepared to speak up but you get to seat yourself so if it bugs you that people are loud you can work around it. Total dive bar classic gem. Thanks guys!

Tried their Dine Out menu (2025)…read more Butternut squash soup - tasty. Served with garlic bread. Beef Wellington - chunk of beef enclosed in puff pastry. Not exactly the most authentic thing. Hard to describe. There wasn't a layer of stuff between beef and pastry, and the beef ball wasn't as rare as expected. It was tasty though. Vegetables and mashed potatoes were also good. Cast iron cookie a la mode - baked chocolate chip cookie in a mini skillet with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Who doesn't like either items. Good value. My friends and I left happy.

I came with two Yelpers and B to try their 2025 Dine Out Menu…read more I got the Butternut squash soup. It came with garlic bread. I really like the soup. For the entree, I got the Beef Wellington. It was not made the traditional way. I believe they very likely used prime rib instead of beef tenderloin. The beef is wrapped in a nice puff pastry. It was missing the mushroom layer. I didn't mine. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were both soaked in garlic butter which made it super delicious. For dessert, it came with a giant cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cookie was very sweet. Overall, the food was delicious for the price I paid. So no complain there. I saw lots of people coming in for the dine out menu. We got lucky. After 7 pm, the beef wellington was all sold out. I would definitely come here again

They were a welcoming bunch of people, with a wider age range than you normally see in a pub (i.e., lots of grannies) and with a blue-collar feeling that has actually become a bit rare in these parts. The beer selection is not for the snobbish (Coors and Canadian aren't even ironic yet, and I confess that upon seeing/hearing my options, I had a moment of "What can I drink?!"), but the awesome selection of diversions include regular meat draws, live bands, karaoke, pool, and my personal new favourite, shuffleboard. A friendly regular showed us how to play, and answered all our stupid questions as we learned, and soon it was like I'd been finessing my slide on the Promenade Deck with Gavin McLeod all my life. The club seems very welcoming of visitors, if you can find the door around the back of the building (go up the path between a couple of wedding dress shops, and make a sharp turn into a scary little parking lot and you're in), and membership is quite shockingly cheap.

Service the same, but today was on a whole new level, and not in a good way. We were sat quickly by a young man, who was friendly. Our server brought us waters with ice and lemon as asked. We ordered a couple of beverages which were dropped in a reasonable amount of time. When we asked for a few minutes to peruse the menu we got plenty of time to do that. PLENTY! I finally stood up and asked the other server if we could please place our order, who then brought us to the attention of our own server. She came over and oh have you had time to decide? No apology for the twenty minutes we had sat. Another couple came in after us, ordered and had the food delivered, by the other server, before we even placed ours. Ordered, asked for our water to be refilled. Never happened. I finally asked another gentleman if we could have more water, and he got it right away. When our food was dropped, there was no mention of our water miraculously appearing. The food was boring, bland, and not overly generous in the portions. My fish pieces were large, but mainly batter, the fries were hot but as soon as they cooled a little they were very greasy. The coleslaw tasted like nothing at all. The lovely K has the Cajun chicken Cobb salad. The presentation was nice, but it was equally underwhelming. The left 3/4's of my plate. The other server came and cleared our plates and asked if I was still working on it. My response, "definitely not!" elicited nothing. We will not return.
