9/5/25 - came here for football game! Chiefs vs. LA Chargers. Idk if you know but thirsty merchant is a chiefs bar! So, I got here early to get a table and glad I did - it was super packed after a while. There is a parking lot as well as parking on the street. The staff were super friendly! Honestly- even tho it was busy and crazy, they still had good and positive attitudes. Their Happy Hour is also amazing! I got the smash burger - it's only on the HH menu. And it was SO good! Perfectly made. We also got the spinach artichoke dip, Mac and cheese, fries, and cauliflower. Everything was AHHHMAZING. Will def be back!

Not bad. I'm a Chiefs fan and this is our home bar for our fan club. They are pretty good host and I enjoyed watching the game here. I ordered the smash burger. The burger was pretty good , I really liked the peppery flavor on the meat also it tasted grass feed which I prefer. The food came out fast but the line for drinks was a little long. Overall I liked this place and I will be back with the fam. The out door patio is also a plus with plenty of seating.

Personally, being a fan of local-feel vibes and slightly grung atmosphere I felt very comfortable here. They have pretty good deals and a solid menu with a lot of options, even vegan subs! Bonus for having a pool table

We went for the happy hour and were not disappointed. Prices were good and servings were generous. The bartender was very helpful in assisting us with our selections. The outdoor patio area is the best! Relaxed atmosphere with lots of sunny seating and outdoor games occupy to your time.

Small place with a giant vibe! The food is definitely a plus besides all the screens with every sport event on. Drinks are definitely not watered down and plenty on Draft to brag. The parking is the challenging aspect of when you get there if you park on premises or somewhere on a busy street. They have multiple happy hours, are open late and the bartenders do not ignore you!! Thanks for Devon (Thurs & Sundays) and Noah. They made dinner with old friends feel extra special!! I recommend the burger and garlic fries.

Horrible service! AVOID THIS PLACE! It's a Tuesday night. Slowest night of the week at most places - I order a bunch of drinks and a bite to eat. I ask the bartender (who you order food from) if the Smash Burger (listed only as a happy hour special) is still available. He says yes and then tells me it's an even better deal on Tuesdays because for $10 it comes with fries! So I say: great I'll take it! Instead, another burger comes out. When I tell the server it is wrong, the bartender comes over and starts yelling, berating me, arguing and slinging insults saying Smash Burger is only a happy hour item. Calling me names and telling me I'm "stupid" and a "dumb ass". My buddy at the bar standing next to me, who heard everything, agreed the bartender was out of his mind. My friend at the table I was at (who works in the service industry) was appalled at how rude this dude was for no reason. So I won't ever be going back to that bar because of the way they treat their customers. And when I asked bartender for his name, he told me to screw off. So attached is the name I found on the receipt and a photo of him. All he had to do, since you messed up the order, was ask if I wanted something else. Plenty of other bars in the area that actually want a customers business.

    Yummmmmmm

Long time merchant gal here. Absolutely love this place. Bartenders are the best around, the place is huge and it's got a great outdoor space. The nachos are sooooo good but the chips SUUUUUCCCKKK. They are paper thin wisps. they break and get soggy so fast that you're 2 chips in and find yourself eating nacho salad. A fork is a must from the get go, it's kind of a bummer. Merchant dudes - invest in a good chip. please.

Good atmosphere, good food, fair prices, slow service. Met another family here to sit on the patio so kids can run around. It's a nice patio with a lot of room, seating, and TVs. All the food we ordered was actually really good. My biggest issue was that it was a Friday night during happy hour and there was only one bar tender serving drinks and taking orders. It took awhile but once the order was in, food came quick. Recommend the bang bang shrimp, chicken tenders, and buffalo califlower. Cheese curds are awesome too! Be aware the ranch has jalapeño but it isn't spicy. Was for the kids though.

    Do they have any mocktails?

Yes. They can make almost any cocktail alcohol free

    When is happy hour?

    Everyday 12 - 7pm

    Is it dog friendly?

No they are not dog friendly

Are there any vegan friendly options?

They have Buffalo cauliflower, and brussel sprouts which are delicious. So a few vegan and vegetarian options

Is the patio and outdoor space dog friendly as long as they are on the leash and at the table with you?

    Not anymore

    Any gluten free options?

Yes. We have gluten free buns. Wings, salads, Brussels sprouts, among others.

    What time is happy hour?

3-7 for food and all day for drinks

Is it back up and running?

Hi! We will be back up on Saturday, the 16th of November.

I think these guys may have closed down. They have been dark for at least a week since I have been driving by. Does anyone have an answer to this?

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience, there was a piping problem which is being repaired. Thats why there has been a temporary closure.

    Is it 21+ here?

I had to show my ID before I went in the door. But also there were other customers there when I went who brought there kids who were probably about 2-4 years old and someone else had a baby in a stroller in the outside patio area. I'd just call…

If we came early on a Friday night, at 5:00 pm, would it be appropriate to beings kids if we sat outside?

    Do they have live music?

No, but they do have a DJ

What time does the kitchen close?

It depends on the business how busy they are and what not. But normally 12:30

If you go there on a busy day and don't get served in a timely fashion, go and tell them. You shouldn't have to, but sometimes you must. Thank you Jason. Here on a busy World Cup game day, so we can expect delays. But it was much worse than that. Ordered appetizers that were warm on the outside and cold as ice inside. Our server completely ignored us and instead asked multiple other tables how they were doing. Only came by once an hour and then it was due to me asking another server to help. Will not be coming back, service was lousy and you got the tip you deserved. Oh, and it wasn't so much about them being busy as many other servers were hustling and making sure customers were ok. It just happens that our server was useless. There is no excuse.

I arrived 90 minutes before match time, and the place was already more than half full. The hostess, a tall, gregarious brunette whose name I didn't learn, was friendly as could be, and showed me all the options remaining for a 2-top; and she completely left it up to me to decide. Once I picked a table, water was dropped off quickly, and our server, Alexandra, arrived for the first of many visits. She took great care of us, and always made sure we had whatever we needed. We didn't order any drinks of a fancy nature (a cosmo, a beer and a shot), but they came quickly, were properly prepared and quite generously poured. For food, we ordered what almost anyone would order in such a situation: pizza and wings. The 10" cheese pizza had a crisp crust with good-quality mozzarella that had plenty of flavor. The pizza here is far better than one normally gets in a sports bar, and shouldn't go unnoticed. Wings were also top notch: crispy on the outside, juicy as can be inside. I ordered the Parmesan-Garlic flavor, which was fairly drenched in fresh garlic and cheese, and was fantastic-tasting. It was a very nice change of pace from the usual Buffalo sauce, and fresher (read "better") than similar versions offered at other chicken wing places around the area. The crowd was great, the food was solid, the drinks were stiff, and the overall experience was about as much fun as you can have while your home team is being eliminated from the tournament 4-1. This original Rocco's remains the best of the locations, as far as I can tell, and it's comforting to have it in the neighborhood. As to Team USA: there's always 2030!

It's a 49er themed bar, they had a live DJ and screens running the game all over the place. The vibes were vibing and although I'm not a football fan I'll definitely be coming around with her more often. We didn't have any food since we had a late lunch at work that day but from seeing nearby tables ordering pizza and wings it looked so good for your typical bar food! They have a full bar in the back but they also had a table set up out front for guests to order drinks there and not have to walk to the back which I think was handy. Be prepared to wait in long lines for the bathroom if you're here on a booked and busy night! There's three bathrooms available but like any other place with a busy night, there can be a long wait.

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday for a quick drink before a movie, and the "vibe" was non-existent. They have four TVs at the bar, but the setup was bizarre, two were completely off and another was just frozen on a directory logo. The biggest issue, however, is the cleanliness--or lack thereof. The place is incredibly dirty. It feels like it hasn't had a deep clean in weeks, maybe longer. The bar top was disgusting, the floors were grimy, and even the woodwork looked like it hadn't seen a rag since opening day. They are charging $17 for "signature cocktails," which is bold for a spot that feels like a neglected dive bar. If you're going to charge premium prices, you have to at least wipe down the countertops. Service-wise, the bartender was friendly enough but low energy and minimal level of service. To make matters worse, a shift change happened while we were there, and the departing bartender made us close out our check and start a brand-new one with the next person. Why should the staff's administrative hand-off be the customer's issue? It's just unprofessional. The Valley has so many actual dive bars with character and plenty of high-end spots for a great cocktail; I'm not sure where this place is trying to fit in. It feels like someone bought it and just stopped caring. We won't be back.

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)
