A friend gave me a watch as a present, and the strap was too large, he re-sized for a reasonable price. My other watch has a plastic strap that needs replacing every 3 years or so. He replaced that for less than $10 with a really strong looking one. He's a nice chap too, took only 10 min for the whole job. I spent some of the time looking around the store which, in addition to conventional watches and clocks, has some interesting odd looking novelties that might make nice gifts the next time I make a trip home. read more

My watch had stopped and I assumed it needed a new battery. Found The Tick Tock Store on yelp and decided to give it a try. Greeted with a smith and hello as soon as I walked in. Brian confirmed it was just the battery and replaced it with a new one. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes at a very, very reasonable price. read more

Just got back from having two watch batteries replaced. The price was super reasonable and the service excellent.

I have been going to The Tick Tock for it seems at least 20 years to have my Seiko watch serviced or get a new battery or a new wrist band. I have been always very happy with the service. But now I realize what a wonderful shop it is. I was in a hurry and dropped in to Morrison's in Orinda for a new battery because my watch had stopped - after 5 mins she returned and said it would cost $250.00 to be fixed (and she mentioned that it wouldn't be worth it unless it has sentimental value - it is a 35 year old Seiko with original parts). So I picked up my watch and went to Tick Tock and got it serviced and a new battery for $65.00 - and it has been working perfectly for 10 days so far!! I have found him to be an honest man that seems to really like his work. I would recommend him to everyone! read more

-A family own, 1940 vintage electric mantle clock had not worked or chimed in years, I brought it to Brian and although it took him a couple of tries, he was able to fix it! Sorry, but I have been waiting for at least four months or more to get my clock fixed. I keep getting promises, excuses for delays, and still no clock. I had my clock switched from wind-up to battery. When it arrived, it had huge black hands (the former were gold colored). I took it back at least 2 months ago..... still waiting for it to be done. Had a Tourneau and 3 G-Shocks that needed battery changes. G-Shocks can be a pain to switch out, but the nice gentleman did all watches within 20 minutes while I grocery shopped for less than I had paid for one not too long ago. Good quality, nice service. read more

Don't ever go to them! My watch was in for a regular 5 years maintenant and it is now all scratched up. They kept my watch there for several months and were probably hoping I would forget about it. I don't think so! It's a really expensive watch and an heirloom to my family. Anyways, when I came in to check the status, the guy handed me my watch. He was very smooth and acted like nothing has happened. When asked about the damages, he made up some of the lamest and pathetic accuses. He never offers to fix the scratches and still charged me the full price of the original repair. To make the long story short, I took my poor watch to another watch repair shop in town and found out that he never perform the maintenant service. The other watchmaker was like laughing after opened up the watch and show me the obvious signs of non-recently cleaned. I also found out that several other customers had already experienced the same issue. Only if I can turn back the clock to 5 months ago! Note: I wrote this same message in other rating website also. What can I say? I'M REALLY MAD and want this place closed down!!! read more

There are closer watch repair places to where I live but I went here based on the reviews and was not disappointed. Quick, courteous service -- was done before I got back from Starbucks -- and he didn't even charge me extra for undoing my failed attempt to add links to the band myself :) P.S. I had to drive around the mall once to find the storefront. It's just south of the Rite Aid entrance, next to the UPS store. read more

Recently I needed a new band for older REI watch. Another store spent several months trying to find one to fit with no results. I took the watch to the Tick Tock Store. He took a band off the shelf and modified it slightly to fit. I got the watch home and accidently dropped it and all the numbers on the face came loose. I took it back and he was able to fix it for a very reasonable cost. Nice people and good service at fair price. read more

my experience here is quite different than the rest of the reviewers so let it go as maybe an aberration, but in my case it was a real experience. my only visit to the shop was to have a battery replaced on a sports watch. i got the battery replaced ok, but in the process they ruined the seals of the watch and did not mention it to me, so when i next took the watch out and it got wet (it was waterproof before the battery replacement) the watch died and was destroyed. when i took the watch back to tick tock, they literally told me that i should have known that the seal would be destroyed. they did nothing to help my situation out, so if i could give them zero stars i would as i had to buy another watch after my experience at tick tock. be careful. read more
