I really wanted to have a good experience with Davidson & Licht. Back in December 2023, I put in a request for a no-date Submariner, my first Rolex. I figured if I was patient and checked in once in a while, things would move along. Nope. Every time I followed up, I got the same vague answers and zero real communication. It slowly became clear that unless you already have a big purchase history with them, you're basically not getting anywhere. They don't say it outright, but the message is loud and clear. I get that the market is tough and supply is limited, but the way they handle new customers just doesn't feel great. I shouldn't have to guess what's going on or feel like I'm wasting their time by checking in. The store looks fancy, sure. But the overall experience? Pretty disappointing. Terrible customer service from Mr. Licht. Arrogant and combative. I went in to have my watch serviced and he told me I should buy a Rolex instead. Of course he charges full retail and I only wanted to get my watch fixed. He charged me a little approximately $220 for the service, and the watch stopped working months later. I ended-up having to send it to the manufacturer who said the previous service was poorly done and the watch had some corroded parts inside that needed to be replaced. Terrible business! read more

Went to check on an upgrade from my Rolex Submariner to a Sea Dweller. Chris met us at the door and introduced us to Orlando the Manager who showed us the new Sea Dweller. While he showed us the watch we were given refreshments and they cleaned our rings and our 2 watches. The cleaning revealed a few scratches on my wife's watch so the watch maker lightly polished the bracelet to make it look like new. Jake took a look at the Submariner and gave us a good trade in value. We're looking forward to buying the Sea Dweller from them soon. He was able to determine that the watch was tempered with and with that being said, Rolex wouldn't be able to service it. So I immediately returned the Rolex Watch back and I was able to get my money back. THANKS GREG! A few months later, I went back to Davidson & Licht and I asked for Greg, but he wasn't there. I tried reaching out to them several times through text but they never got back to me. 4 stars because my watch repair was completed satisfactorily. Dropped off watch for repair in early December 2021. They advised it will be repaired in house or could be shipped to Texas. Someone would call me. January 2022 no one has called me. I stopped by and found out the repair to the watch was being done in house, which is good news. Also, the watch will be done by the estimated completion date. Eventually I picked up my watch; everything was fine $500 for parts and $500 for labor. Communication could be better especially if they only insure a certain amount and your watch is 3x the value. I normally go to the Davidson & Licht in San Jose, Valley Fair.
