Awful! I go to check on my first order with them and I see the item is not back ordered 2 weeks and I was never notified had I not checked I could have been screwed, but I think okay I have enough time to pick a new item and have it ship. Well that item ships and I get no tracking updates for 5 days, no idea where my item is.I call USPS and they tell me they don't have the order and I call the tie bar customer service and they have no idea of where my order is other then what is on the tracking which is just that it shipped. That is bananas, I work in ecommerce we know where are orders are and have updates daily so to tell me that they have no updates for 5 days and that the order will arrive within a 4 day window is BS. 4 days can be on time or it can be late and missed the boat. I've been a tie bar fan for years. In my opinion, the quality and price points on ties/socks/pocket squares are unmatched, but I was unaware they offered made to measure suiting. Tried it out and it exceeded my expectations. Extremely happy with the results. Got to customize everything down to the last button and stitch. No pressuring salesmen/awkwardness that I've experienced while shopping around elsewhere for custom suits. After the first measuring, suit arrived in about 5 weeks. Couple of minor tweaks later, and it is the best fitting suit I've ever owned. Great quality and awesome pricing compared to their competitors. The made to measure specialist, Onyx, is the man. If you're in the market for a custom suit, go to the Armitage flagship store, ask for a Onyx, and he'll make you look fly!! I know everyone has said it over and over again, but $15 for a tie and the quality is amazing. I have long been a reader of GQ and they are continually featured on there so I decided to finally purchase from them. I ordered 5 ties and 5 pocket squares and it was a few more dollars than ONE tie from Brooks Brothers. As soon as they came in and I saw them you could tell they are great quality, when I hung them together on my tie rack it weighed it down and I have a full tie rack with about 50 ties. I brought in my shirt, vest and shoes for my wedding suit and wanted to find a bow tie that would go well. Tristan was awesome! He was patient, enthusiastic and really gave me good and honest feedback. And actually everyone who worked there really seemed to enjoy what they do. It ended up being a group effort and everyone there had great input! Though it wasn't what I was there for, there seemed to be a lot of really great accessories - Belts, suspenders, all kinds of pins and collar, helpers, cloth fabric boutonnieres, socks... A really great store that I will certainly go back to and would recommend to anyone. I spent $40 and got a really nice bow tie, pocket square and great socks. I love ordering from them, but let's face it - the website sucks; you can't sort the kinds of ties you want - if you choose "trendy ties', and want regular width to eliminate the skinny ties, there's an option to do it - but it never, ever works. Ever. Not on explorer, firefox, safari, any browser. So, I'm stuck scrolling past hundreds of ties which I don't care for. Fix this nagging problem, and you'll get your 5 stars! read more

I have bought gift boxes, bowties, and socks for my wedding all from thetiebar and they are all great quality! The shipping is super fast as well. The only reason I took off a star was because they run out of stock on items pretty quickly, so if you see something you know you want, i would recommend buying it ASAP. I needed a specific bowtie for my groomsmen and it ran out of stock before all of them could buy it and I emailed customer service. A lady emailed me back the first time and didnt seem to show any concern with my situation so I emailed the business owner, Stephanie who was super nice and helpful and even offered to pay for the return if needed. She let me know the items I needed would be restocked soon which made me very happy. I would definitely recommend this website to anyone but if you have problems with an item, make sure to speak to Stephanie. read more

The website has a great selection of ties and the price is very competitive, however from the couple of orders I've received the value does not make up for the price. They only sell ties (at least I could only find ties) with a neck size up to18". This leaves me out, or I have to deal with a tie that is more a noose than a tie. They wrinkle easily and just seem not to be worth more than the $15 you pay for them, so in my estimation, there is not really much additional value. While I've paid more for ties at other sites, you can find some really great, well-made ties on sale for not much more. read more

Wonderful quality and service! I needed a 8 green summer ties for my son's wedding. They offered excellent quality at an affordable price- but the service was the best part. We bought one tie to try the color and they seemed to know it was a ultimately for a wedding. The color and quality were better than expected. I think they had a great selection of neckties, bow ties, pocket squares, cuff links, etc.. They were all very organized.. The store is quaint and not very big. MY ISSUE? Due to the size of the store, you would think someone, ANYONE, would've asked me if I needed any assistance. Every person that walked into their establishment after me was greeted with a salutation & asked if there was any assistance they needed. I was also the only African American in the store. I later expressed my displeasure with a young black employee who came into the store after I already found what I needed. I told him the 2 young ladies, one brunette, the other, blonde, made NO attempt to assist me at all. It wasn't crowded. It wasn't hectic. I was 1 of 3 customers in the store. I sincerely hope that the store takes some time to teach their employees about treating every single customer equally. I want to thank Edward and his team for saving our wedding day! We stopped by the Tie Bar and they were sold out of a tie and pocket square style we really wanted for our groomsmen! Edward, the store manager, told me that they are to get another order of our ties a couple weeks before our wedding. Of course, me being a nervous bride, I asked Edward if he can just keep in touch with me regarding these ties and pocket squares and gave him my contact information. Edward followed up with me and offered to ship the ties to me once they were available. He was on top of his game! I purchased one tie, was charged for and received two ties. I shipped the other back economy mail, as they do not offer a shipping credit. Then dead air. They did not credit me and were silent until I noticed roughly 1-2 months later. They hassled me over the return. The store is owned and managed by two lawyers. You can imagine they know every conceivable way to legally get the better bargain from you. You play russian roulette when you trust these people to deal fairly. I was jerked around, insulted, and never offered any appreciation for my business or apology for the inconvenience they caused. Save your pennies elsewhere. And take heed they market through third parties like amazon. Avoid completely! read more

The ties that they sell stink like a dingy warehouse. I sent them back and they replaced them with ties that had the same bad smell. About a month later I gave them another shot. Guess what: They sent me two more ties that had the same dirty smell. The website is nice and the selection is impressive but I don't like to walk around with a dingy smelling tie around my neck. Considering that all these ties are made in China the smell might be toxic as well as dirty. Proceed at your own risk and don't expect much customer service. read more

Canadians beware! Shipments from the Tie Bar will arrive COD, even though you pay shipping when you order. I spoke to a customer service representative and was told that this has to do with the carrier that the Tie Bar has chosen. Whatever the cause, my $60 (plus $15 shipping) order arrived with a $33 COD charge. Absolutely ridiculous. I am refusing the order and was told that I will receive a refund, although I'm guessing it will be for the price of the item only, and not the shipping that I already paid for with my order. I could not be more disappointed, and I will warn every Canadian I can against placing orders with the Tie Bar. So sad. P.S. I now also have to scramble to find a replacement tie for the event that I originally ordered the tie for, just to add insult to injury. read more

Delivery was fast efficient. Return process is very slow in this day of fast delivery. Printed the return label and took the package to the post office. Checked three days later to find the package had just bee logged in. Two weeks later I contacted the Tie Bar and they said it had just come in back and they blamed USPS. Come on two weeks from Atlanta to Indianapolis. Then I was told it would be another 5-10 days to issue a credit. 3-4 weeks to get a credit! Are you kidding that is not how successful internet companies are run. read more

I spent $5.99 for shipping and my order was light enough that it could have shipped first class for this price, but they shipped it parcel select with Newgistics. If I could give 1000 stars I would!! The tie's and accessories (socks, pocket squares, etc) are beautiful, chic, stylish, and COMPLETELY affordable. But I think the best part of my experience and Tie Bar in Lincoln Park, was the service. I worked with Tony, and he was such a HUGE help. I am getting married in 5 days, and my lovely fiance had not yet gotten ties for his 10 groomsmen (a task he insisted on taking on, only to put it off until a week before the wedding). So after leaving every department store and discount shop disappointed, I thankfully stumbled upon Tie Bar. I walked in to Tie bar and was greeted by Tony. I explained my situation and showed Tony by fiancee's suit color, and the bridal party colors. He picked out a few ties and pocket squares, we decided on a set, and I was sold. Tony and the other gentleman who was working were very stylish and I trusted their opinions completely. Tony ordered 10 of each and they delivered to my house 2 days later.
