I've been there several times (so, obviously I like it!). Food is not bad, service is B-/C+. Price is higher than you'd expect but you are in Montgomery/Princeton/Hillsborough area, my friend! There's music too - despite being no space for a band! I gave 3 star because of bad service - the waiter and waitresses seem to be a bit slow and snotty no matter what!, price of food and drinks, quality of some food served and on the menu, lack of parking (if I can't find parking, I go to the nearby Rocky Hill Inn, nice place; why don't Tiger's Tale take over the closed gas station parking lot next door?), and noise level in the bar area (a bit quieter in the dining room which is separate from the bar area). I come here about twice a month with my parents, when I am in town visiting them. Honestly, I always choose this place because no matter what the mood I'm in for food, they'll have it. Very disappointed in our local, weekly spot. Owners had a nice loyalty program card. They changed the reward value without informing their loyalty card members. Bartender told us they apparently sent out an email informing members that effective next day value will change. Some of us racked up 1000s of points while others racked up way more. We went after work on a Thursday looking to have a few beers to avoid traffic. The place was packed with people, no place to sit and barely a place to stand. All the tables around the bar are reserved for dining so we stood for about an hour before getting lucky with a stool at the bar. We also wound up sitting next to parents with their children who were waiting to eat. Here all the time.bartenders great. Reasonable prices and food is good and plentiful but as much as I would like try a burger here I can't bring myself to do it. The bartenders make the burgers on an open grill in the middle of the bar. That in itself is not the problem. What grosses me out is that the bartenders are handling money, credit cards, cleaning the bar, etc all while making your burger and never washing their hands! I admit I'm a bit neurotic and clearly no one else cares as I sit and watch everyone else enjoying their big juicy burgers. Neverless I stick to menu items that come out of the back kitchen. Been here a dozen or so times over the years. When I go it's due to either convenience or at a friends urging. It's usually jam packed because there isn't much else nearby. The food is solid. Not great. Not particularly outstanding. Not particularly imaginative. Standard bar food with lots of options served in a noisy crowded atmosphere. Sitting or standing in the jam packed bar area (sardines packed) is a little rough. Personal space is at a premium. The dining room is better. This place has done such huge business over the years I can't imagine why the owner hasn't added a 1,000 square feet to the building along the way. They would fill that up too. I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years consistently and no matter where I have lived I always make it to Tigers Tale for their Teriyaki Frenched Rack of Lamb. This is by far the best dish in the restaurant! I have had many things off their menu and I have nothing bad to say about the other options, but if you're in the mood for a delicious dish that is not your everyday humdrum burger or salad give the Rack of Lamb a try! read more

over 20 years, ive eaten here probably 150 times. The place has never changed. The grilled clams are great, the grilled food (steaks, burgers, ribs,chops) are as good as any around, and better than most. Prices are reasonable, specials are always good, and the tap beer is fresh. The most consistently good food in this area for a very long time. read more

Beware of undercooked burgers at the bar! I so want to love this place, but it is average at best. My husband and I stopped in this afternoon for a bite. We both ordered burgers (well done and medium well) and fries. There is a grill at the bar where the burgers are cooked by the bartenders. In this case, the female bartender handled the raw meet and then immediately, without washing her hands, handled the burger buns, the lettuce, onions, tomatoes, etc. When our meals were placed in front of us, the blood from the undercooked burgers saturated the burnt buns and the fries were stone cold. The bartender immediately disappeared after putting the plates in front of us. I munched on the cold fries waiting for the bartender to reappear so that I could send my burger back to be cooked appropriately. Fifteen minutes or so passed and still no bartender. At that point, I just gave up. I should mention that the bar was not busy.... there were maybe 20 customers in the entire place being serviced by two bartenders. The Tiger's Tale Management is playing with fire by allowing poorly trained bar staff to prepare and serve undercooked food. read more

Came here a couple weeks ago and as always The Tiger's Tale failed to disappoint. I've been here many times and consider it to be on of my favorite restaurants and bars in the area. This time I tried a new sandwich called the Tiger's Tale Chicken Sandwich. It was excellent. Chicken was moist and topped with sauteed onions and jack cheese. Both of which I love. Served on french bread which was a little different then most sandwiches which come on a kaiser roll, but I actually liked this bread better. Some of my other favorites are the burgers and the fish tacos. The burgers are cooked on the grill in the bar by the bartenders. Adds come character to the bar and always enjoy they preparing food on the grill. Also suggest looking at the specials menu. Everyday they have a different menu with about 20-25 specials selections. I never have a problem finding one or two things on there that sound great. My one warning when it comes to the food is to be careful with the popcorn. It's free and very addictive. The bar is very big, but almost always packed. They offer about 15 beers on tap and although they have the standard light beers they also have some good beers that are hard to find elsewhere. Servers and bartenders are always very helpful and friendly. It's really not hard to see why it is packed every night of the week. read more

This is the last time at tigers tale for me! Service was slow and inadequate. Food was not what I ordered Burger medium came out rare, mushroom and onions I ordered had to be asked for never came with my burger. Menu says chips never got them, it took me 10 minutes to get the attention of another bartender to return my burger, because our original server never came back to check on us, yet took care of clients on either side of us at the bar when the burger was returned they forgot to put the cole slaw on the plate...... my burger which I ordered very rare and was cooked more than the one we ordered medium ...could not get anyone but the busser to answer our requests... to see if we wanted another drink I had to flag down another bartender to get another beer which I commented about the service.... no improvement!!!!,our bartender "Debbie K" just blew us off. Horrible experience "in fact we had to get two different bartenders to help us because ours was too busy to check on us" ......... My wife and I have been dining here periodically for the past several years. We always found the place to be a good value (3 to 4 stars) with good dinner choices and responsive, helpful staff. On our most recent experience here a few days ago, we found the staff still provide excellent service. However, the quality of the food left much to be desired. We ordered from the specials list: My beef short ribs were somewhat tasty but so fatty that no amount of seasoning & overcooking could save the dish. My wife ordered the Key West Chicken entre which I believe was described as incorporating chicken scallopini with pasta & broccoli in a garlic butter sauce. In actuality, the chicken portion consisted of thick chunks of boiled chicken in a bland, watery broth. The dish was totally tasteless. Thank God the server, preliminary soup/salad & drinks were good, or our experience would have been a disaster. This day was so different from our previous experiences, that I'm chalking it all up to an incompetent cook. I left a decent tip so as not to stiff the serving staff. To be fair, we will return based upon past good experiences and I really hope that things will have improved so that I can give a better score. read more
