a box of macarons

Words cannot describe how much I love this place!! I am very picky with macaroons (do I sound pretentious or what), and their macaroons are out of this world - they are by far my favorite in St. Louis! I want to buy these macarons literally every week as each week they have different yummy flavors! Pros: texture is so soft and chewy, doesn't break when you first bite into it, the flavors are so unique, taste just like the flavors they claim to be, aren't overly sweet Cons: makes me gain weight I love supporting local, and besides the fact that their baked goods are amazing, I can tell the owners are amazing people just by looking at their content on social media, instagram specifically! Aside from posting weekly updates on their new flavors, they take into consideration what customers want and post surveys. They also talk about important matters, which is something I commend them for. I cannot rave enough about Tipsy Goat enough!!!!

I bought macaroons for my daughter's baby shower and they were delicious! They are reasonably priced and taste great!

Yum! Delicious. Just how Parisian macarons should taste. My wife and I had a sample and our taste buds were delightfully satisfied

Usually, I stop by to pick them up from Trolley Stop Bakery on a whim while out shopping on Saturdays.

I respect anyone that can make a good macaron, period. Understanding the commitment to getting a…read moremacaron right makes me enjoy them even when they don't quite taste perfectly. I spent the better of my college years perfecting the macaron and making all kinds of french pastries, putting in endless hours. Years later, with no time for that, I find myself with a macaron subscription - 10 a month to be exact. The deliveries from Le Nouveau Macaron are gorgeous. They are packaged beautifully, the macarons are decorated so eloquently, and they taste pretty good. I also like the combinations with some savory flavors. I just have a few suggestions or criticisms: - The subscription comes with an 'extra' item, like a little tart. While these are quite exciting to receive and look lovely, I've found them all to be extra sweet or just too much. For example, a lemon tart but with buttercream icing on top. A lemon tart is already extremely sweet and, if anything, needs a neutral topping like whipped cream, but I would say nothing at all. - The macaron cookies are sometimes too thin and seem to not have much interior. They can look thin from the side and there is not much in the bite. - The filling can sometimes be too thick for the size of the cookie. To me, the macaron can have an obvious ratio discrepancy just by looking at it (MAXIMUM 1/3 should be filling, max). It looks like mostly filling and very little cookie. Generally when it looks like that, it also tastes like that. I think the main thing is that some of the tastes are just overly sweet. Too much filling that's sweet, or in the cases of other pastries, too much sweet stuff. French pastries are generally my favorite because they are not usually overly sweet. I would like to see some offerings here that are a little less sweet and a little thicker macaron cookie. But I'ma keep on ordering!

I have been enjoying the delicacies made by Le Nouveau Macaron for some time now. The fun shapes,…read morecolors and designs are always something I look forward as I get a new delivery. While I have some favorites, I have also enjoyed the exploration of flavors they have brought to my palate. I has not considered savory Macarons, or some of the combinations that have been made, but to my surprise I have found new favorites. The Basil and white chocolate macaron, paired with tomato was one of those that became a new favorite. Another part I have enjoyed is the seasonal nature of the flavors selected for each month. I love the international flavors (Ube Macarons are also a favorite of mine). I love the classic and novel approaches used in the macaron creation. It has brought fun and excitement I look forward to experiencing each month. Try them, you will love them too!

I know it sounds strange to go to the bakery of an award-winning pastry chef/ baker and get the…read moreRoast Beef sandwich, but there it is. I love this sandwich! Roast Beef, horseradish aioli, white cheddar, red onion on a poppy seed challah, oh my. On this day, they had something on the sweet side that caught my eye, a blueberry cream cheese Danish. I am always drawn to blueberry so I couldn't pass it up. I am not much of a sweet eater, hence the Roast Beef sandwich love but every once in a while, there is a sweet treat that I really love and this was one of those times! It was sweet, flaky, and delicious! I had a taste in the car and would have had another 1/4 after the sandwich but I ate the whole thing, I just couldn't stop. I hope they do and hope they don't have this more often!

The display cases are filled with works of art, that taste delicious. The staff is cheerful, friendly and all of them dressed in uniforms gives a feeling of professionalism. I enjoyed a Smoked Ham and Gruyere Croissant and a black coffee in house. I was to have a seat at the counter in their front window and relax while my dogs were at the doggie spa up the street. The croissant was super-super flakey and the smoked ham paired beautifully with the gruyere cheese. I couldn't come to NRB and not take home a couple of sweet treats. My favorite treat was the Raspberry Lemon Financier. It was so good the next morning with my home brewed coffee. Then that evening I enjoyed a Lemon Cake whose name I cannot recall. It exceeded moistness and the strong lemon flavor was just what I like. In addition to my treats, I got a Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie for my fur-babies pet stylist as part of her tip. My only dislike and it's minor, is that they serve Kaldi's Coffee. I'm glad they are supporting another local small business, but I am not a fan of their product. Typically when I know a cafe serves Kaldi's, I pass on the coffee, but I made an exception here.

I did a lap first just to check everything out and upon walking around I noticed a build-your-own cupcake bar, space for an event, cookies and pastries galore, and pretzels!! The ladies behind the counter were incredibly kind and helpful, which really made a difference since it was my first time there. After finally making up my mind, I got a vanilla cake pop and a chocolate chip cookie. Prior to coming here, the only place I'd ever get cake pops was Starbucks. Clearly, that's going to change! The cake pop was baked to perfection and really hit the spot. The chocolate chip cookie was soft and wasn't overly sweet. It tasted homemade and was very pleasing to the palate. To sum up my experience, this is one of prettiest cake shops I've ever been to. Not to mention, they have something for everyone (vegan, gluten free, sugar free options), and they're budget friendly! I can't wait to come back and build my own cupcake next time!
