We had the fried pickles, chicken wings, quesadillas, fish and chips, cheeseburgers, and salmon. All of the food was delicious, hot, and served very quickly. The waiter that served and bussed our table was phenomenal. He was running around to serve every request quickly and professionally. He didn't even need to write down our orders lol! The food had great flavor and the food portions were good, I ordered the biscuits and gravy. I've tried to like this place, I really have. I love the venue - their patio is maybe the best in Arlington. It's the food that I can't get excited about. I've tried for lunch and dinner and found it adequate. I decided to try brunch and it really didn't even measure up to the other meals I've tried. The eggs benedict was served lukewarm and honestly, it just wasn't very good. Even if it had been served hot. The Bloody Mary was okay, but tasted like a mix. Service was okay. Overall we were pretty satisfied. Positives first - We got an order of wings as an app and they were well executed and good. My lobster roll and the side of fried bacon were both delicious. My companion said the salmon and asparagus were excellent. They did have a nice selection of draft beer but I opted for mixed drinks. See below. Not so goods: the up-charged side of coleslaw. It literally tasted like nothing. They did give me a large portion of it, but it was flavorless. The mashed potatoes were creamy but lacking flavor. Came on a Saturday so can't complain about the busyness just parking was a little complicated. Honestly disappointed especially with all the great reviews it has. Fried pickles were very dry, not sure if the pickles supposed to be spicy or just the ranch because the pickles were normal but the ranch was jalapeño ranch. The smoked brisket hash was smothered in BBQ sauce so you can't taste anything else besides the sauce, at least you can say it wasn't dry. The smoked brisket grilled cheese was probably the most decent but still underwhelming. Service could've been better as well but definitely wasn't the worst. read more

It's great to have fun places to go in Arlington! Tipsy Oak is best for outdoor, where it's dog friendly and there are lots of fire pits for the winter. The live music gives it a great atmosphere. You can sit near the front and make the music the main event, or in the back where it's still easy to have conversations. Food is casual bar style. What a great find, met up with an old buddy while in the Dallas area and found the tipsy oak. Not sure why all the negative post about service. We were greeted quickly and the server was prompt. As for the food WOW! What a great selection, we ordered the pork belly quesadilla, holy you know what. Tasty and just delicious. Had the fried bacon burger and man was that a monster, what you get for the price u pay is awesome. I'd suggest this place over a lot more, with outdoor seating live music on thE weekends and a great amount of space inside it's truly a cool place. I typically start off at a place I've never been by ordering the chips,salsa and quest.. conventional wisdom tells me that if they can't get that right how good is the actual food going to be? I ordered these items and they were really good!! The queso is a smoked Gouda queso and salsa had a great flavor so i was excited! Of course i yelped in advance and knew I was going with the blackened fish tacos.They looked delicious and they did not disappoint!! My Fiancé and I met up with a friend for dinner and a few drinks on a Tuesday night. No a crazy night, it was about 97 degrees (early September), but we sat outside because the indoor eating area was pretty full. They have large fans that blow outside which really helped with the heat, so the breeze made it actually a REALLY nice night! Parking: P L E N T Y when we came. Not sure how it is on the weekends, but we parked right in front of the door. Seating: I walked into the front, stopped at the bar, was greeted with a smile, and was told that it was open seating everywhere. Awesome! We picked a picnic bench outside. Drink and food menus were in a bucket on the table already, as well as napkins, silverware, and a few condiments. Our waitress didn't take long, but this made it super convenient for us to browse the menus since we had not been here before. Atmosphere: I would consider this establishment to have a very "rustic-pub" vibe to it. The available seating outside was impressive since we were the only ones out there. We got to pick from fire pits woth ottoman stools, benches, Adirondack chairs, bar counters with barstools, picnic tables, & regular tables. The overall atmosphere outside says this is a very laid back environment to hang out and relax over some drinks, however, the atmosphere inside seemed a tad bit more structured for a dining experience. Service: Phenomenal. Our waitress came and checked on us regularly, but not too often. I usually get nervous when the staff doesn't write our orders down but she remembered everything we ordered beautifully! Personable girl with a fun attitude. I really liked her & hope we get her again! Food: We ordered the Poutine because we just HAD to. Add the pork belly and the fried egg and thank me later. Well worth it, in my opinion. We also ordered the fish and chips; previous photos made it look delicious so I wanted to give it a try. We got two fried fish filets, french fries, Cole slaw, ketchup, & tartar sauce. I felt that the fish was not heavily battered, fried perfectly, and tasted a little bland. The flavor was all in the batter. The fries were not seasoned, and were a little soggy. The Cole slaw was dry and bland. I was disappointed in this dish. We also ordered the blackened fish tacos. Also highly disappointed in this dish, as I found the only things I could taste was the tortilla and the cheese. The fish was just not a good choice for us, I guess. All else aside, the overall food quality here is good, not great. Price: This establishment really charges their customers a lot to make up for their great outdoor seating. $56.73 before tip for our appetizer, meals, two beers, and a mocktail. Our friend spent nearly $40 on poutine, chicken wings, and 2 beers after tip. A little too expensive for my taste, honestly. Would I ever come back? Maybe - They're local, offer good beer selections, and have an interesting menu... But their price points are alarming. Would this ever be my first choice again? This place had good vibes and good food. For appetizers we got fried pickles and calamari. Both of the sauces on each dish were really good we asked for extra sauce. For my meal I got the California club and it did not lack flavor it was delicious. Food was great!! Service was okay. It took them forever to bring drinks back and forth even though no one was there when we arrived. Also I ordered a dr.Pepper and it was NOT dr.pepper. The server did not tell me it would be something "similar". Apparently they use local brands. We dined here becoz I was jonesin for lobster Mac n cheese; I'd read the reviews and they all said it was good stuff with lots of lobster. It was very tasty-with bell pepper which I like - just could have used more lobster; I had one good chunk and some slithers (hence the 4 stars) but it was good tasting stuff. My friend had buffalo wings-they were not as spicy as he likes them ; but he said they were good. When we walked into the place which is very small-we walked back and forth across the room because no one greeted us and we didn't know the process to be seated. Finally we asked someone who told us to find the guy with the clipboard and he would take our name-we finally found him then went outside to the heated patio but could not find seating so we went to the covered patio and found a nice spot. And then the heavens opened up and there was MUSIC!!!-yep I said it -MUSIC. I LOVE LIVE MUSUC-Especially Outside-It was great listening and a wonderful overall dining experience-We plan to return when it gets warmer to hang out on the patio and listen to music. Oh!!
