Wow! This is a fabulous operation. I spent 30 minutes calling Costco who never answered their phone line. In desperation I called my alignment guy who strongly recommended the Tire store. I also spoke to two other friends I trust who also recommended the tire store. I called the Tire Store and to my surprise they answered the phone on the first ring. I am the owner of a Tesla Model 3 from SF arriving in San Luis Obispo visiting my son at CalPoly late Friday night. We experienced a flat tire. My wife discovered the Tire Store via Yelp that has had several great reviews for its known customer services and high quality work. Next day morning, I arrived at the shop around 7:50 am before it even opened. I was immediately impressed how clean the store was and witnessed a group of technicians that has a full of energy gathering around the supervisor what appeared to be a safety meeting. I credited them for resolving my issue in an expeditious manner. They treated me like I was the most kmportant person in the world. Joe and the people at The Tire store are superb. They saved my car!!!! I was told by three other tire places that my 2001 Mercedes Convertible CLK 430 front right wheel needed to be replaced due to a crack, and it was something they couldn't help me with due to the age of the car. That particular tire would be too difficult to find and would be over the top expensive. I was so devastated because this is my only form of transportation, and I love this car. I drove in to The Tire Store without an appointment, and not only did Joe squeeze me in (they were absolutely packed that day), he had his mechanics check the tire and didn't charge me that day. The most important part though was he took the time and energy to hunt down a tire that matched my other tires and was very reasonably priced. It took a few weeks, but he never forgot me and actually performed the miracle of obtaining it for such a low cost. I'm so so so so appreciative of Joe's attention to detail, and all the research and work it took to obtain the correct tire. I can't say enough about this business it is absolutely a top drawer operation. I was traveling from SFO to Ventura CA and had a low tyre pressure indicator come on and limped into SLO. A local recommended them. I was taken care of above and beyond what I required as a service it was amazing as it was not just a simple flat. then when all said and done I was handed my keys and wished me a safe rest of my trip. the gobsmaked part was no charge we're happy to help a through tripper. I was sent here by the SLO Volvo service representative who told me they don't do tire repair. He confirmed that the one tire that was causing alarms was indeed low even though I had added air the previous evening. Anyway I went to The Tire Store and talked to the man at the desk (I neglected to get his name), explained my problem. He wrote down my phone number, said it would be an hour and gave me a great recommendation for lunch. After lunch, I walked back to the shop and sat in the lobby. This is a busy tire store but within five minutes, a young man came in and asked if I brought in the Volvo. I told him yes, he said it's done and is repaired (he found a nail that was causing the leak) and I asked for the cost. He said "no charge". I was truly flabbergasted!!! He handed me the keys and went back to work. The man who originally took my information walked in and I asked about the cost and he said "no charge". I couldn't believe it and thanked him profusely. I was from out of town and visiting Cambria and rightly expected to have to a cost for this unexpected problem and repair. I told him that this wasn't right and gave him $40 to get the tire crew something cold to drink at the end of the day. This practice is unheard of in SoCal. I read some other recent reviews and it appears this is a repeated act of goodwill by this business. Honest. My daughter took her car in for tires as the last time she had car serviced at another shop they told her she needed tires. She got a quote from this other shop 700 for tires. She went to the Tire Store and the tech said she still had 10000 miles left on her tires and that they would cost around 500. While traveling to San Luis Obispo from the Bay area in my 1932 Ford Roadster hot rod, I experienced a tire issue with my tire loosing air on my trip. A friend of mine recommended that I take my hot rod to The Tire Store for service. The crew here was friendly and caring. They let me assist them with removing and installing the wheel spinner & tire on my hot rod so there was no damage. I appreciated them allowing me to assist so there was no damage done to my hot rod. Once they found the issue, a cracked valve stem, they replaced it and got me back on the road within an hour after getting there. On a recent trip to San Luis Obispo to visit friends and attend the Cal Poly Homecoming football game I was alerted by our car's computer system that all four tires were low on air. I went to several service stations to check the air. As many of you know many service stations do not have working air pumps. I asked a friend where I could go to have the tires checked and he recommended the Tire Store. I went to the store on a Saturday morning and told them about the problem. They said they could look at it and to pull the car into the service area. One of the technicians came out and did a visual inspection of the tires, inflated them to the proper pressure and reset the computer in the car. I went into the office and they said there would be no charge for what they did. I can't thank them enough for this 'old fashion' courtesy and service. If you need to have your tires checked or need them to be replaced I would highly recommend the Tire Store. He gives only the Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) on the issue if there are any, and then recommends only what you NEED not may want etc etc. The job was performed effectively, quickly, AND the Tire rotation and Repair was free.
