I'm not a drinker but from what I saw they had a pretty large selection of beers. However their pizza is FANTASTIC!! The Salty Orchard is really a once in a lifetime experience and is pretty much nirvana on a pizza crust! Cannot recommend highly enough, the staff was very personable and the atmosphere was surprisingly wonderful, not something you would expect out of a place in a strip mall. Best pizza in the Bremerton/Port Orchard/Gig Harbor area we've been to since moving here. Good selection of beer. Children get to choose three toppings and build their pizza. We were able to split our pizza since there were a lot of choices we wanted. We got there early around 5pm, so didn't experience any wait issues and the staff was friendly and helpful. Toad House is a fun dive bar with phenomenal pizza. The waitresses are a hoot and the beer's always pourin'.

Recommended by friends who used to be stationed in the area. Thank goodness for GPS, we could not have found it otherwise. The street address is McWilliams Road but the strip mall where the Toad House is located faces Wheaton Way. We had the Toadal Protein with onions added. Generous with the toppings and the crust was how we like it, just thin enough. Service was good; we were there on a weeknight and the place was not crowded at all. We aren't beer drinkers so we can't speak to that, other that we could see there was a pretty good selection of brews. I wish more places offered pizza with a crust like the ones they have here because you would find me eating pizza out way more often - and maybe they would have more competition, which would in turn lower their prices a bit? As other reviews have stated, the pizza comes at a price but I think it's delicious and definitely the best I have had in the area (my husband is a pizza addict, so I've had my fair share). I would also venture to say, it's some of the best pizza I have enjoyed in the States - second only to pizza I had in Italy and Singapore (yes, Singapore). When we ate there the first time, the kitchen was backed up due to at least 4 tables sitting down about the same time, so we had a long wait but our server was sweet and apologetic and very attentive. I enjoy trying different beers and they have a rotating tap, so there's always something new, which is appreciated - but the fact that they price gouge so much is not. Although I wish their prices were more fair for their location (we're in Bremerton, not Seattle here), I have returned and probably will again just for some of that deliciousness. read more

Our second time here and we had the same server. She was very good and personable. The pizza was good not my favorite crust but good. Everyone was very good as far as the employees go. The owner needs to know that when you treat the restaurant as your own meeting place it is off putting to your customers. This happened the first time we were there. Horrible smells and horrendous atmosphere and completely an unpleasant experience and we will never go back, we would rather order carry out pizza then eat here again! My wife and I were in a couple days ago and had to listen to the manager (I'm guessing) yelling at one of the employees. We could hear everything he was saying to our server and the cook. And then the manager had the audacity to come back and start yelling at our server again, and all of this while we're were eating. All you pizza lovers need to try this place. Probably the best pizza in Kitsap County. Gave it a try last Saturday and was so surprised. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Service made you feel that they appreciated you being there and the Pizza from a wood fired oven was fantastic. A wide assortment of Northwest Beer is available. So here's the thing - we normally love Toad House and we have gone there for two birthdays in the last year. However, this evening we went there for my dad's birthday and that will sadly be the last time. Things started out okay - they were kind enough to put the cake we brought in the fridge and seat our table of six. Things took a turn throughout the evening as they got busier. Our waitress was short and snippy with us - I chalked it up to the growing crowd. However, when I asked her if she would mind bringing the cake out when she had a chance, that's where the night took a turn. She stated, "so you need plates too then?" When she brought them back she informed me that "normally we have a charge for using the plates - we don't serve dessert so you can bring in your own, but you have to bring your own plates and forks or we will charge you a fee. I won't do it this time, but next time we will charge you." This is the first time we have ever had this response - remember we have spent other birthdays here too and enjoyed cake then as well. If this was new policy, she could have easily mentioned it to us when we brought the cake in. Since Safeway is right next door it would have been easy to grab some 99cent plates and avoid the poor service. But really, I've never EVER had that experience at any restaurant I've attended and brought cake in. When the bill came she had added a 20% tip to the total - nothing on the menu said anything about added gratuity, and while we would normally tip that amount, it was frustrating that when we had received poor service, our cards were ran with the subtotal and the tip included - especially since we were only SIX people. That just seemed weird. I know other places have a large party gratuity they add to the bill, but usually thats for 8 or more. Also, word to the wise, your credit card slip will still have a space to tip - careful not to double tip! We almost did. Overall, I realize things change and maybe this is a new policy, but there are way more tactful ways this waitress could have handled this. Unfortunately, while the pizza is good, it's just not good enough to convince us to keep going. Fingers crossed this didn't ruin my dad's birthday. P.S. The husband and I gave The Toad House a try last night. As we first walked in the host seemed like it was a struggle to greet us, even though the restaurant only had one other table. We chalked it up to being tired from Fourth of July festivities. Sat down and looked at menu and were sightly shocked at the prices. 11 dollars for the crust and then an average of 2 dollars per topping on the pizza. My husband and I like to mix and match but couldn't justify two create your own topping pizzas so we ended up getting two all meat pizzas (4 toppings for 23 dollars each) we found the pizza was okay, it did come out piping hot but we didn't think it matched up to the price. We did order an appetizer as we starving and expected a wait as they made the pizzas. Total for two pizzas and an appetizer was 63 dollars, not counting a tip, and as we left the host couldn't even look up from her phone as she told us goodbye. Not sure we will be going back as we found the food did not match the price but we did enjoy the atmosphere. read more

I grew up in New England and am admittedly a pizza snob and beer snob. I worked on several restaurants and understand the principles of service to the customer. Don't get me wrong. I really like this place. I hope, over time, The Toad House Pizza Pub develops its own distinct character and stature in the community as a destination restaurant based on its atmosphere, quality of food, and service. This place has the right combination of sauce and crust for a first rate pizza. The crust recipe is great. The sauce is the perfect level of spicy for my palette. I don't mean hot, just flavorful. I believe pizza sauce needs to have a little bite. It is perfection. The Toad House atmosphere is interesting yet they could easily take it further. The restaurant would do well by developing a dedicated "pizzeria" section, as well as a dedicated "ale-house" section with bar seating. They would then be able to cater the "family" customer along with the "quality-brew/pizza" customer yet keep them separate. Most of the time, the two types of customers do not want to intermingle. Even partitioning these two areas by a short wall would go a long way. Also, your metal railing at the stepped area makes the place look like times are tough. Drywall up 4' to 5" is good. Keep the music just the way it is, maybe louder in the "bar" if you divide it up. Separate the cliental that wants to drink beer in front of their children from those who want an experience without children. It would improve the experience if done in good taste. I do like the diversity of personalities of the employees. It is a characteristic that will build the personality of the establishment. Yet, other reviews have hit it right on. They are really in-want of being able to consistently provide quality service to all the customers. I have seen, first hand, the help's "friends or family" being provided better and faster service while snubbing the general customer. This will eventually kill business. Here is a big one. What is going on with the window booth next to the bar? There is, most always, the same group camped out there and it gives the impression that it is the break area for the staff. Every time I have come in, I have noticed that the booth between the window and the bar is occupied by the staff and/or their friends and family or their belongings. Maybe this is where the owners camp out. This is prime seating. Always offer the customer the prime seating. Give the staff a place to hang out separate from the customer area. Customers don't want to see the help relaxing. If the service is less than what the customer expects, and they notice that their waitperson is sitting in the booth up front, where will their mind go next? Yes, they will think they are getting sub-par service from inattentive staff. You are either are making a place for you and your (or the staff's) friends to hang out, or you are making a place where you can offer the customer a rich experience which will keep them coming back for more. You have great potential and recipes. Run with it! read more

Eaten there several times, its a nice little restaurant in a city (Bremerton) that has VERY few good ones. Lots of good beer, friendly staff and the pizza is OK. For what you get I find it a bit on the expensive side. 42 bucks for 2 large pizza's. Anyone that tells you its the best pizza they have ever had must not get out much. Ate lunch there with my daughter and the service was horrible. We asked for no croutons on my daughters salad. When the waitress brought the salad I reminded her that we asked for no croutons. The waitress rolled her eyes and said she did not put that many on there. The waitress did offer to bring a new salad at all. When I asked the waitress to remove the salad from my bill she was very rude. She asked if she had an allergy. When I said yes, she said you should have told me I thought she just didn't like them. The waitress was very rude, rolling her eyes, slamming things around, and looking for an argument. I had to tell her I am not arguing with you just stop. Which is a shame because I enjoyed the music playing and initially thought I would bring my husband back. Needless to say I will not be returning. Hug disappointment. read more

This place is great! Every time I try something new, I love it! I was delighted from the start with the pizza and beer, but then I finally had one of their sandwiches and later some salads and they've all been amazing! The Bit Wedge salad (Iceberg lettuce with Blue cheese, bacon bits and diced tomatoes) and Grilled Chicken Caesar salad (Hearts of Romaine, shaved parmesan, grilled chicken, house made Caesar dressing) are both super tasty. They have several salads and sandwiches, also some appetizers. The Garlic Chicken Club and Clubhouse Panini are lovely, as is the toasted garlic cheese bread appetizer! I haven't tried everything yet, but what I've had has been very good. The beer/cider selection is wonderful! I get tired of so many restaurants only offering 1-3 beer selections. And usually the same ones. (Yawn) This place has big variety. Dark, light, everything in between. I've actually found a few I hadn't tried before! On to the pizza! :) They have a selection of sauces and toppings to choose from so you can make a custom pizza or have one of their own specialities. The Salty Orchard and the Luau are big hits with my more adventurous foodie friends, but I prefer more traditional stuff like plain ol' pepperoni, roasted garlic and mushrooms. If it aint broke, don't fix it, that's my motto! Although I do sometimes like to go crazy and add some goat cheese, bacon and/or basil. :) Kids can make their own personal pizzas before they are cooked, so even the picky eaters can find something they like and have fun doing it. The pizza chef is great and it's fun watching him toss the pizzas. The wait staff has always been very nice, so we like coming back whenever we can. Ok...this place really deserves 3 stars, but since I feel that the current average is way too high for this place, I decided to give it two to help give the overalll rating a more honest and reasonable average. This place is currently the number one reviewed pizza place in the Bremerton area, which I feel is rather unfair to Spiro's pizza which is far superior and slightly lower in price. I feel that the Toad House review gets unfairly bumped up do to its highly regarded collection of micro brews...which is impressive. However....people who are serious Pizza affectionados like myself want the straight dope on the best Pizza in town...and this Toad House is NOT it. read more

The Toad House is a small little place. My family went in before 5 PM and you can tell that if it was a Friday (we went on Thursday) how it could get real crowded. The staff was very friendly however and we were well taken care of. There is definitely a great selection of beer there as far as about 40 different types in bottles and another 15 on tap. Pizza was really good as well as the toasted garlic cheese bread. The bread was very soft and came out warm and great. Pretty much it about melted in your mouth. We took our children with also and the staff was very nice to them. The oldest chose the "tadpole" pizza where she was able to put her own pizza together at the table to be cooked. Even still it came out with all the others. I had the bacon cheeseburger pizza, which again was excellent. My wife made her own pizza with the white garlic sauce and chicken. The garlic sauce was very strong, but still very good. All in all everything was great; the only complaint would be the price. For all the above we walked out with a bill of $75 (including tip). Not expecting to have spent that much for pizza. The best time to go would be around 2-4 for the "happy hour" specials where they have a 10" 3-topping pizza for $10. read more

Was in town visiting family and we found this place. Took our daughter and neices out for lunch. I cant remember what sandwhich one of my neices ordered but she absolutely went crazy over it. She loved it. Her sister had ordered a salad and when she saw and smelled her sisters sandwich she ended splitting it with her. The portions were generous. We ordered a pizza and it was one of the best tasting pizzas i have had in a long time. The beer we had on tap was very good(ate there a few months ago and have now just had the chance to review so sorry cant remember what we had.) The service was great. Next time we come back to my hometown for a visit will have to stop in again. I highly recommend this place if you have craving for good pizza and sandwiches. read more

First and foremost: large and incredible selection of beer. The beer selection is so vast, that if you ask the wait staff for a beer list, they'll probably just laugh and then ask you what you're into and make a recommendation. They also have shelves and shelves of unique Pacific NW beers that you can purchase or just drink right then and there. The pizza is fresh and delicious and cooked in an oven right in front of you and the quality and care that they put into everything they make is obvious. The sandwiches (like "the best sandwich you've had all day") is awesome. The decor is really cool and unique and they're usually listening to some great music. Word of advice, on Fridays and Saturdays, get there early to avoid the rush. If you don't beat the rush however, just wait to be seated. It'll be worth it. It's hard to find a better place for me to grab a beer and a slice of pizza after work. Highly recommend. read more

My husband and I came here for date night. We were excited about the huge selection of beers and ciders on tap. The restaurant was packed when we came in, but it only took them 10mins to seat us. Our server was awesome! My husband looked at their selection of ciders, but they have way more beer than ciders. Only one cider was on tap, but my husband did like it. When he was done with his glass, he asked the server to "surprise" him with whatever they have on tap. Our server picked out this tangerine beer that my husband also enjoyed! Good job! We ordered the artichoke dip (DELICIOUS!!!) and a pizza (I forgot what it was called). The appetizer came out very quickly, but the pizza did take a while. I remember the pizza had olives in it, and we requested that they only put olives on half of it. Our pizza came is just as we ordered! The only reasons why I'm giving it 4 starts is because of the cider selection (we were expecting more) and the kind of long wait for the pizza. read more
